Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Diamond in the rough The first time I stayed at this property was about a month ago. I drove up to see a closed restaurant in front and a factory in the back. The location turned out to be very safe and close to historic downtown Chillicothe. The inside of the hotel and the service made up for the surroundings. The property is modern and meticulous. Every associate was friendly and inviting. Being a couple miles from the busy retail area, it was very quiet which I like. The rooms are appointed with comfortable beds and above average amenities. I travel each week and stay at many properties. I stayed again the second time this past week and my impression stayed the same. I am very satisfied. April 27, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Chillicothe Holiday Inn Express Very nice, almost new hotel. The bed was comfortable, and we had a little fridge to keep our beverages cold. It was quiet. The breakfast was excellent. April 22, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding But Two Things Reserved the room for my out of town daughter and son in law to have an adult night out while we watched the grandkids. Excellent facilities and the desk staff was outstanding. The only possible negatives : I thought rates were pricey for a city Chillicothe's size (but I'm probably out of touch). After check out my daughter inadvertently left an athletic suit in the room . She checked back the following day and I checked a day later to no avail . Desk staff was helpful in checking lost/found and housekeeping headquarters . I can give you the 9 or 9.5, just not the 10. I will recommend you as my first choice to all out of towners who ask . Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely amazing! Everything in the room was great. The staff goes out of their way to help you. The hostess in the breakfast room made sure all the food was hot and fresh. This is the first time I have ever had a hostess actually wait on us-like offering us another cup of coffee when she had made a fresh pot. If every holiday Inn express was like this one, I would never consider staying at any other hotel! March 19, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Best place to stay in the area It is like your second home Very high and personalized service and always a smile in the face March 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Always an excellent stay!!! I haven't stayed since last fall. I noticed the potted plants and flowers in the lobby and breakfast area. These along with the fireplace psychologically warms up these terrible never ending frigid weeks. Lori and Ronda were very helpful and efficient in checking me in using reward nights points. Ross County was under Level 2 snow emergency and Natelie extended my check out time to 2pm to allow me to stay until the roads were more clear. Elsa's breakfast service is always super efficient and bubbly at 6am and keeps the breakfast items fresh and well stocked even if you come at in at 9:55am. Jason was extremely thoughtful in cleaning off my car. I have trouble with balance and this was EXTREMELY HELPFUL!!!!! My work schedule is more of a 2nd shift one and the hotel is extremely quiet even being near the lobby. The housekeeping staff is very considerate for those who aren't on a 1st shift schedule. The beds and pillows and linens are extremely comfortable and it would be very easy to stay in bed and watch movies or read on these frigid days. I have stayed multiple days before; every room has a mircowave and mini fridge. I have brought in food and this is very convienent and saves on food expense. There is a very comfortable desk chair and work table with ample light. Each lamp has extra plug ins for the cell phones and electronics. Bathrooms are spotless and there are a good supply of spotless towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. I felt welcomed from the very first day I stayed. I leave relaxed and well rested. The owner, manager and all the staff take pride in making this a very comfortable, super clean hotel. February 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Pleasantly Surprised! My wife and I live in North Carolina and travel to Chillicothe, Ohio (our home city) several times each year to spend time with our sons and their families. During our recent trip to Ohio for the Christmas holiday, no rooms were available at our favorite B&B, so we decided to stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Chillicothe for the first time. We were very pleasantly surprised regarding almost every aspect of our week-long stay. We were greeted by Natalie and other staff members in a friendly manner which made us feel welcomed right away. We were impressed by the fact that the building was updated and modern with all necessary amenities and was unusually clean. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable and the beds allowed for a good night's rest. The bathroom actually had a functioning exhaust fan (hard to find these days) and the room lamps included extra electrical outlets for the charging of cell phones, laptop computers, etc. Crystal, Viktoria and their supervisor were friendly and did an excellent job with their housekeeping duties. The breakfast bar was clean and well-maintained with a good assortment of meat, eggs, fruit, vegetables, cereals, etc., and the hostesses, Elsa and April, were very friendly and accommodating. Congratulations to the management of this facility for hiring such high-quality employees and for providing them with the proper training. It is obvious that everyone at the Holiday Inn Express in Chillicothe demonstrates pride in their work and realizes the importance of making the customer feel important and welcomed. As travelers seeking lodging, we believe that the most important qualities of a good hotel include FRIENDLINESS and CLEANLINESS! Kudos to the management and staff at this location for scoring high marks in BOTH categories! We actually left Chillicothe feeling like we had made a few new friends and look forward to seeing them again when we return to Ohio. Keep up the good work! January 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff and great room with only a small twist... The location is just right. Right off the highway. The facility is modern and clean. The place was clean and our room was wonderful. More importantly the bathroom was clean and new. The staff was great. The breakfast was good. The only problem was that our room smelled like smoke. Perhaps it wasn't used for a while. More importantly the mornings were wonderful because of Elsa. As a fellow Filipino it was nice to see another friendly place. She was so courteous and one of the most hard working ladies I have seen. I hope the management will bring her up the ranks because she is A PEOPLE PERSON! She needs to be the one greeting people. Very few people take pride in what they do and she is one of them. Thank you Elsa for making our stay awesome. The Filipino and German couple :) December 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It shows that the management takes pride in this hotel. We had read positive reviews on this hotel before booking, and we were also very pleased with our stay. The hotel is well decorated, very clean and I'm guessing has been recently remodeled. It does have a very nice breakfast included in the cost and the lady who manages it is very nice. Just my personal preference, I always like having the sink outside of the toilet/shower area, and this was not set up that way. However, we would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend. December 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable hotel, great hospitality. My son and I stayed overnight in the midst of a long road trip. The room was clean and comfortable (though the acoustics are not great with hard tile next to the suite door); the breakfast was pretty good. What made the experience for us was Elsa - she checked us in when we arrived and then hosted breakfast. She clearly enjoys her job and takes pride in making guests feel welcome and at home. I think that kind of hospitality is rare and it makes a difference! November 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Like home Its like staying at home. Have there for several weeks this year and he staff makes the staff makes the stay great. November 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice stay overall The stay was nice and quiet however the hotel clerks at the front counter were not very friendly. They seemed to be in a rush (even though we were the only guests checking in) and were pretty rude. I had to even tell the lady to not throw my credit card at me and to place it in my hand since I was holding it out to receive it back from her. I also asked for 2 rooms beside each other and was promised this but they were not. (minor detail) I still had a good stay however. November 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff Thumbs up for the breakfast manager...food was great and she kept the place spotless..a chore when the place was full of children, and spills were prevalent. November 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Another great night at HIE! I rolled into the hotel at around 3:00 AM. I was ready to get to sleep and wanting to avoid any hassles that stood between me and a bed. The Holiday Inn Express delivered. They were easy to find, check in was a snap, the room was clean (of course), quiet and comfortable. November 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by October Stay Not only was the front desk staff welcoming, and the room comfortable, but we were greeted by the staff at the breakfast buffet and when we finished and were leaving, the staff member made a point of coming to us and speaking to us to have a great day and invited us to return to your facility!! How kind and friendly. October 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyed the check in When we checked in, the desk clerk gave us snacks and water. We asked if he would recommend a place to eat. He suggested Canal City Smokehouse. It was excellent and we really enjoyed it. Thanks to the desk clerk for the great recommendation. October 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Staff and Hotel The staff is friendly and makes you feel at home. Always wiling o Assist with anything you encounter October 23, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Avg holiday inn express Your run of the mill holiday inn express. Staff was pleasant, room clean. Only decaf coffee in room. An average stay not overly excited I travel for work and spend a lot of time in holiday inn. Some are better and some have been worse. Trash in breakfast area was over full the attendant was playing on her cell phone in the kitchen area. Front desk attendant was more than helpful with a local BBQ facility that was a great recommendation. Several buildings out front of the hotel are closed and boarded up. October 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very enjoyable Really nice rooms, newly redorcorated. Quiet, very liffle if any, highway noise. Really nice complimentary breakfast, with omlettes, sausage, biscuits and gravey plus all the sweet rolls and pancakes. Elsa does a great jog with breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff and breakfast! The staff was friendly and intent on making our stay the best possible experience. The breakfast was the best we've ever had at a hotel - lots of choices and the food was delicious! October 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by fantastic stay Highly recommend this hotel. Friendly and efficient service. Special mention of Elsa who was an absolute delight and very welcoming. The only place I would stay when I next visit chillicothe. Thanks for a comfortable stay. October 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Place Very clean and nice property! The staff was friendly, the breakfast lady (April) was very funny and a great help telling us about the area and what we could do with our children that would be fun and affordable! October 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and great service Would choose this hotel again. Friendly staff and clean well appointed room. October 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Breakfast stewardess Esta, (I believe is her name) is absolutely the perfect ambassador for your Holiday Inn. Management please take note of how she interacts with each guest - her enthusiasm for her job, along with her personality just starts a normal day off perfectly. IF Undercover Boss ever visited the Chillicothe Holiday Inn Esta (oh I hope I have her name right - I think she may be of Phillipino descent) would win a best employee award. I hope whatever her dreams are that she is given the opportunity to achieve. Richard , Rocky Mount, NC September 30, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Repeat Visitor I wanted to come back to this site and again express to any and all that need lodging in the Chillicothe, Oh area to visit the Holiday Inn Express. My husband and I stayed earlier in 2013 and had occasion to be passing through this weekend on a trip to Virginia. Calling from the road and reserving a room while stuck in traffic was a breeze. We requested the same room as our prior visit, handicap/military rate and were very pleased to say that if anything the service has even gotten better if that can possibly be. The hotel, gym, pool, rooms and all common areas were clean and inviting, making for a very relaxing evening after driving. The breakfast that is provided and the friendly hostess, Elsa, make this hotel and stay a most enjoyable experience....will definitely stay again at this hotel when in the area. September 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean Hotel and Very Relaxing My two teens and I stayed on August 30 and had a great experience. The hotel and rooms were very clean and the pool was wonderful! All the staff was very friendly and we will definitely be staying again when we see Tecumseh! next year! September 5, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Expected more for the price, Bed slanted with head lower than feet and a hard mattress. Bathroom door squeaked so loudly it woke us up in the middle of the night when one of us had to use the bathroom. Have had much better breakfast, Hot station where the scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy where located, very confined area for just one person at a time, long line to wait. Food was blah. When we checked in, we stated that we wanted to pay cash for our room, we were told to wait until the next morning. The next morning a bill was slid under our door showing the cc we had used to reserve the room had been charged for the room. Went to talk with staff at front desk, on our way to breakfast, they stated no problem to fix, and we said we would take care of it at checkout. After breakfast we went back to our room to rest a little and pack our belongings. We put our "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. Someone knocked on our door and OPENED IT!!!! My husband got off the bed to see who it was and told them we had not checked out yet and her reply was, "What time is your checkout?"When we voiced this annoying disruption to the front desk she just said, "Sorry, I didn't see you after breakfast and I thought you had left so I sent someone to your room to check."
