Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Stay! My husband and I were travelling back to New jersey a college parents weekend in South Bend,Indiana. We drove for about 7 hours and then decided to stop for the night. Lucky for us we found that this Holiday Inn was close by. As soon as we walked into the lobby the lovely young woman behind the desk greeted us and made us feel right at home. We were hungry and she recommended a local restaurant that we enjoyed. My husband asked about best place to run in the morning and she helped him by giving him suggestions and plotting it out on a map. She was so welcoming! The room was very clean, large and well equiped. The bed was comfortable, bathroom a good size and clean and new looking. There are snacks in the lobby as well as tea, coffee and lemonade. I used the gym (treadmill) and was pleased with the TV there. There is also a pool which people were enjoying. The c0mmon areas are very attractive. We had a terrific breakfast in the morning-pancakes, eggs,yogurt,bananas-all you can eat!! We are definitely staying at the Holiday Inn whenever we take these road trips in the future!! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Trust me, the staff know the policies Stayed at this hotel after one of my daughters sporting events with numerous other couples and their children. The hotel itself is an excellent facility. However, we were not able to relax. The staff spent the entire evening following the guests around letting them know what the policies and procedures were for the facility. No drinks in the pool area...that means NO drinks. Not a water bottle or any other beverage, even if it is in a plastic cup. No sitting in the breakfast area to talk amongst yourselves. No alcoholic beverages in this area either, even though there were signs posted that they had "happy hours" in that area on certain nights. Basically, we were all attempting to unwind after a long day and socialize a bit, but that is definitely not allowed at this hotel. We all were responsible adults who were not being disruptive to anyone in any way. However, we were made to feel that unless you come in, go directly to your room, and not speak or talk to any other individuals in your travels throughout the hotel, you are not welcome. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by They've moved! We love Holiday Inn Expresses and have stayed at the one in Clearfield many times. We were surprised to see on our last trip that the building now had a new name on it. They directed us up the hill to the new building. It is a beautiful building but is lacking in some key elements. the walls are thin (we could hear our neighbors plainly) and there is no hot tub, though the pool is nice, as always. They also have a small "store" where you can buy items that you may have forgotten or small snacks. In other Holiday Inn Expresses that we have visited these items and snacks were free. Also there were few healthy options (juice boxes, fruit etc). Still a good value with comfortable beds, nice pool and delicious breakfast. I just wish that they had spent their money on sound proofing and a hot tub instead of on fancy chandeliers and banisters. January 10, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 5 Star Experience I travel quite frequently and I have never stayed at a more top quality hotel than the Holiday Inn Express Clearfield. The entire staff, from the manager, front desk, breakfast and housekeeping were all fantastic! They are always so cheerful and willing to assist with guest needs at the drop of a hat. My room was so spacious, clean and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay! I love the snacks and cookies available in the lobby and the manager's reception they hold. Kudos to the entire staff!!! Without a doubt, this will always be my first choice! January 6, 2014

We appreciated being told that 'we were expecting you!,' not to mention the water and snacks upon arrival. Thank you and we hope to be back soon. January 3, 2014
