I was there working night shift at local plant. They tested the fire alarm in middle of day when I was sleeping. I know their schedule dont revolve around mine but if I was told when they were testing I could have adjusted my sleep. It would be nice if you could just give people a heads up when they check in it would be greatly appriciated

The hotel was clean, roomy and a great value.
The staff was friendly and the pool was clean and refreshing.

At midnight there was a fire alarm, after waiting for it to clear (it did not) I finally vacated the room. Firetrucks were arriving, ambulances too. No communication with guests whatsoever during this period. At around 1:30 we got back to our room, but since I had to be up early I got basically no rest. In the morning I was offered "extra points" for the "inconvenience". The extra points amounted to about 20% of a free stay....utter nonsense given that I got almost no rest. Apparently there was no fire, but a pipe burst and the drop in pressure triggered the alarm? I get that things happen, but when things spoil the guest experience then take care of the guest properly. Next trip to this plant, I will stay elsewhere.

Our stay was a quick trip and were glad a room was available at such a short notice. the convience of our to the parking area was a plus.

I have traveled extensively with the IHG group for years now, this was with out a doubt the worst experience I have had at any of their properties.
Upon checking in I quickly realized the Internet service was not working for my room. When I called down to have them help fix it, I was met with a very unfriendly response that their internet is fine and I need to contact their technical support company. A few seconds into my call with technical support they told me the router was not working for my room and they needed to contact the hotel to have maintenance come out (why you would make a guest do all the leg work is beyond me). After an hour I called down for an update and was sarcastically and impatiently told " it will be fixed when it is fixed." Five hours later I chalked the night up as a loss and told them I would like to speak to the manager in the morning (still waiting on that call.) Finally, I hit my boiling point when the young man at the front desk transferred a call to my room at 10:15 pm, already asleep I am awoke by their technical support people calling to see if I have internet yet, annoyed I got out of my bed and checked, still nothing, the woman on the phone asked for me to go stand in the hallway and see if I could get a signal.
For a company solely based on the principals of hospitality they fell drastically short; their rude behavior, lack of understanding of how to differentiate themselves from others has left me questioning my commitment to the IHG brand. As a platinum member and of all the great properties I have stayed at I can clearly see that there is a disconnect in their training of employees, and the IHG model. Clearly the case since it has been five days since I requested to hear from the manager.

Was not welcomed as a rewards member, is this a thing of the past?

We stayed at the Clinton Holiday Inn Express for 4 nights. It was nice to have a suite because we had friends who could come and visit us in the room. Even though we only needed the refrigerator it was nice to have the coffee maker and the microwave as well. Would have used the laundry room but it was difficult for a foreigner to use since one should have bought different things from the automat and the sign said that personnel won't help you with it.
As an European, American white, greesy and sugarly breakfasts are not appealing. More fresh things, whole wheats and natural youghurt etc., please.
