Hotel staff very friendly and pleasant. We stayed off season but the price for a night was still cheapest around. Very clean, property has everything needed. Very close to restaurants, downtown Collingwood and a 5 minute drive to The Blue Mountain Village. Breakfast was included in price and was excellent. Would stay there again although mattresses are in need of replacing in the near future.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rirm Great service
If was the first time we stayed here. The service was excellent, the staff was very polite, and helpful. Check-in was a breeze as was check-out. We arrived a bit early but our room was already ready. The entire facility is well-maintained. The rooms are clean and generously sized. Breakfast was more than I expected. There was quite a variety of items. The location is great as it is quite close to Blue Mountain activities. We would definitely stay here again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CathiP staff excellence
The front desk person, Gillian, was very helpful and went out of her way to search for some information for our stay. Although I did not have a positive experience when I called in a few days before (and directly to the hotel), Gillian made up for it with her excellence of service and unwavering positive attitude. Coming from a customer service background, I am hard to impress. Well done Gillian!

Unfortunately our experience at the Holiday Inn Express in Collingwood was not a good one. The staff were very friendly, however we had booked one night and decided to stay a second night due to a bad snow storm and the rates were jacked up considerably (understandbly so on a weekend) However, we probably only got a couple of hours sleep the second night. The people down the hall from us were partying and we called down to the front desk, after several attempts someone answered and went to the persons room and asked them to 'keep it down'. About 20 minutes later they became considerably louder and we could not get an answer at the front desk so my husband got dressed and went to the room and they closed the door on his face. For all we knew the hotel could have been completely vacant of any staff members. Several attempts to try and reach someone. Even during the day except for first thing in the morning when people were checking out the reception area looked like it was closed. I guess we're just used to entering a hotel and seeing someone at the reception area. We would never stay at that Holiday Inn again and we certainly do like other Holiday Inns.

We stayed in Room 216. The purpose of staying at Collingwood-Blue Mountain was to go skiing during the first week of January. I chose a suite for my wife and daughter and myself. The goal was to have more space, a fridge and microwave and a table with chairs. I was surprised that in a suite there was no table to eat at as a small family.
Exactly one year earlier we stayed at a competing hotel in Collingwood. In a suite. It was larger and had a table for three to eat at. Same cost.
There was an entrance way light missing in the room. What was once there was covered over by a steel utility plate. It needs to be fixed, not masked. That space needs a light that works.
The coffee make was old and difficult to use. I own the same coffee maker at home. This one would send coffee down the sides of the carafe, not into it. They are less than $30.00. It needs to be replaced.
The phone line was laying bare on the floor under the window. When adjusting the drapes were forced to stand on the wire. Unsafe and unpleasant.
The armoire had a door handle that was not finished. Akin to what a tin can is like when it is opened, there is a spur.
Noise at night. At this time of year every room is full. The hotel has to improve the frequency of security patrolling and keeping down poor behaviour. I am surprised, disappointed at my experience. I left not having really slept in three successive nights. This is what frustrates me the most. I am willing to pay more to receive more. But for our stay, we were in the same area of the hotel as partiers. Especially our final night.
I do not expect this to be published for all users to read. You did send an invitation to provide a Guest Experience Review and am being honest in what my family did experience.
I did express all of the above when checking out. With civility. The desk clerk said he would pass it on. I am wondering if anything was acted on.
