As a perpetual business traveler for 40 years and long-time HI resident. Going back prior to Inner Circle. I've noted the chain renovation & upgrades across NA the past few years. That's been fine & dandy but what I seek most are excellent work table, chair, comfortable bed and coffee. I don't use a gym, pool nor eat the offering.
This past year I've taken special note of the lowered desk chairs to the point that ergonomics obviously are not part of the chain designers handbook. It's to the point my knees are in my chest and reaching up and over the desktop to operate the keyboard is painful.
This is, I believe, the last or very few properties that provides a good office chair with extension property to actually use the desk. I commend them for that and recommend to others sharing my priorities. Don't know if anyone was above me but wasn't bothered with heavy stomping elephants either.
I'm platinum elite but will move away from HI in 2015 for reasons stated. Too bad as I've found locations convenient to my travels, but I know there are others who haven't forgotten the lowly business traveler.

We were quite disappointed with our stay at this hotel. usually we are very pleased with the service and quality of a Holiday Inn Express.
We were staying overnight with our grandkids because we were seeing the Zoo Lights at the Riverbanks Zoo.
When we arrived, the room we were given smelled like smoke. Awful, stale, smoke. We had to get another room.
While walking around with my grandkids, we stopped to get a drink at the drinking fountain which not working properly because it shot a stream of water up to the ceiling. We notified the front desk and she put a yellow, wet floor sign out but didn't mark the fountain as broken. In the morning the floor sign was gone and we saw someone use the fountain where again the water shot up to the ceiling. The fountain should have been labeled out of order but I guess the front desk didn't care that it's guest would get wet if they used it or slip on the floor because it was wet.
One of the things our little ones look forward to is breakfast at the hotel.
Breakfast was not up to the standards of most Holiday Inn Express hotels. It may seem like a little thing to most but when you are traveling with little ones, it is the little things that can mean the most. The fruit was not fresh. Apples were bruised, bananas were brown, bagels, bread and muffins were hard and stale and the pancake maker was broken. That ended our stay and left a really bad taste with us. We will NOT go back to that hotel.

My Stay at the Harbison Road Holiday Inn Express was Great, I normally stay at this Hotel becaused the Guest Services is always terrific. I was greeted AS a IHG rewards member as soon as I identified myself and they had my room cards and reception packet ready. my room was good to go, I would have liked to be able to order movies but I understand the cost. Please forward to the staff, that I do appreciate the great service provided and that is why I return so often.
