Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by cardzz Third time stay
This was our third time staying at this location, we normally stay on way back from Florida. First thing, no recognition for platinum, the hot tub has been filled in and after 10 hours on the road that was a HUGE selling point. Breakfast was non-anything. Stopped at 9am. Went to Dennys.
Go a few more exits north and hit the newer one. We stopped and were blown away.

Stayed at this hotel on our way down and back from Bradenton Florida. We made reservations one half hour before pulling in and they were ready for us when we got there. Our priority club membership helped speed things along. The room was beautiful and clean. we will stay there again when we are in the area.

This hotel is in need of much attention. Having stayed here multiple times in the past two years, I won't stay here again. Sink stopper inoperable. TV remote did not work. Breakfast didn't have any cream...only skim milk for use in coffee. Waffle machine didn't work and breakfast choices more limited than normal or advertised.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Charmagne WORST experience I've ever had!
My family and I stayed at this hotel to attend a military graduation. When we arrived I was informed that my reservations had been cancelled because there was a problem with my card. I didn't receive a telephone call or email stating there was an issue with my card. So of course I was not pleased to find out we didn't have a room. Herbert who was the front desk clerk proceeded to tell me that the only room he had available was a king. So we took the king room and waited for the manager(Janay) to come on duty so that we could speak with her about the cancelling of our reservation as well as accommodating the double bed room type for my family. After speaking with her she was able to get the double bed room. Now the reservation that was cancelled had us arriving on Feb 6 instead of Feb 7 which was an error. When I explained to Janay that the reservation was suppose to be for Feb 7 with the early check in which Herbert told me would be a 30.00 charge that he would waive since the reservation was cancelled, she proceeded to tell me I would still be responsible for the night of Feb 6. Needless to say the hotel charged me for Feb 6 as a no show which I was extremely dissatisfied about. I explained what happened and the Holiday Inn staff didn't seem to care one bit. I spoke to another young lady that was a manager as well who told me there wasn't anything that could be done, and she told me that I would have to contact the 1-800 number for assistance because the reservations were made through the 1-800 number. When I called the 1-800 number ironically I was told that the hotel could definitely refund me my money. And that I would have to deal with the hotel. It seems to me I was told incorrect information by the young lady at the Holiday Inn so she wouldn't have to deal with the situation. So now I'm fighting to get my money refunded for a night that I was not even at the hotel. My family and I traveled 8 hours to SC, and I wish I had never chose to stay at the Holiday Inn. This was the WORST experience I've ever had. You know as an active duty military member I fight for our freedom, and for the Holiday Inn staff not to refund my monies spent for the night I wasn't at the hotel is truly unacceptable. I'm extremely dissatisfied with all parties that are on the Holiday Inn staff at Fort Jackson. This experience has caused me not to stay at another Holiday Inn.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by conn great service but strange room layout and squeaky elevator!
Customer service was awesome, but, room layout was weird (two levels with wrought iron fence), and kept waking up from noise that sounded like tables being moved. Realized that it was the elevator when we got on it in the morning. We were on a tight schedule and very tired from traveling all day and therefore didn't bring either issue to the front desk's attention.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Teee Far better than the other local HI Express Hotels
Normally I come for drill weekend from 6 hrs away and arrive just after midnight. Since I'm not staying at the government provided hotel, these funds are not reimbursable. I thought the price, with government discount, was a little steep so I tried 3 other HI Express Hotels. My experiences were aweful in comparison. None of them recognized me as a priority club member which is important since I spent over $200 per month in the last 8 months of non-reimbursable funds to get that status. One of the properties didn't even tend to my room one of my visits. After those experiences, I decided my last drill weekend with SCANG would be spent with HI Express Garners Ferry Rd. I was greeted as a Priority club member and 2 nice cold bottles of water. This came in handy as I met and babysat my infant godson for the first time and needed to make a bottle quickly.

We were extremely pleased with our stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Columbia SC. The desk clerk, Carlos, was most friendly, courteous and helpful. He should be commended for exceptional customer service. The room was also great. Our granddaughter loved the two-level suite.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by lt1022 Where is the customer service??
I travel on a regular basis and frequent differing hotels in differing cities. I have never understood why it is impossible for h ousekeeping to contact you if you leave something behind. All they have to do is give it to the front desk for them to contact you. How hard is that??? Many times I have left things and am unable to even remember where it is. If I am fortunate enough to remember the location it takes days and multiple calls and messages left to track the item down and it is even more frustrating trying to retrieve the item. If I take a lamp then I'm sure they would have no trouble contacting me!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by lweir22 Great location to visit with Medical Students.
Very convenient to the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. We have stayed here twice and enjoyed the overnight with Holiday Inn Express. The breakfast is adequate and their signature cinnamon rolls are hard to pass up. The staff is very friendly. It is still a little pricey but seems to attract nice people that were staying at the hotel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BUSTRAVEL1 Start breakfast earlier at 6:00
I like this location and stay there quite often. For working people it would be so much better if they would start breakfast at 6:00 instead of 6:30. I see people like myself waiting prior to 6:00 and nothing is out until 6:30. A lot of people have to be on the road before 6:30 to start their day

Room was large, beds were comfortable & location was perfect for the Ft. Jackson graduation we were attending. Several fast food restaurants right down the street. Hot breakfast (eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy) plus yogurt, cereal, bagels & bananas. The children really enjoyed the indoor pool.
