my new wife and i spent a night there and let me tell you it was amazing ... we called to see if we could check in early and we were able to ... after getting there and getting settled in we made our way down to the swimming pool area ... wonderful hot tub and pool to relax in ... then we hit a Columbus Blue Jackets game and made it back in plenty of time to make another trip to the swimming area ...
the morning we were treated to an awesome spread of breakfast foods to choose from ...
i would suggest anyone to stay here ... even if just for one night !

We have been very happy with our past few stays at holiday inn express hotels. This hotel was particularly comfortable. We loved the decor and huge rooms. The beds were comfy and sheets were bright white. Breakfast was great, the kids especially loved the pancake maker. Pool area was kept clean and was more fun than most "regular" indoor pools. We will stay here the next time we visit!

We live in the Columbus area and we wanted to find a place to take our 3 small children to swim. We're happy with this hotels indoor pool area. It's just the right size for younger children. The room was nice and modern. We were very pleased with our experience. They kids are already asking when we can come back.

The property is clean and well maintained. The staff are just awesome. I was recognized as a platinum member. My room was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed a nice breakfast every morning. I will make sure in my future travels to Columbus, to stay only there!

I cannot say enough great things about the place. Seems rather new, nice suites But the best was the young gentleman who was at the front desk - ALEX - He was so patient, generous, and the easiest part of my stay (or any stay in a holiday inn for that matter). I will probably stay loyal to this brand forever based on my stay and his attitude and was as nice as could be to me. Thank you!!!!

I have stayed at several high end hotels in the Columbus area and choose recently to add to my Priority Club points by trying out the Polaris HIExpress. I was very impressed. Nikki at the desk was so warm and friendly and the desk staff were current and very knowledgable about their area. Everything was so clean and all the staff was warm and not off-put to speak. (We southern girls like that!) We felt very safe and comfortable. Only encouragement would be to HIExpress corporate to add fresh mixed fruit to the breakfast bar and possibly some area made marmalades (not individual servings) to on-site or area made delectable muffins. What do ya think? Thanks for the all day available coffees and an enjoyable stay. I will return here for my 2-3 time per year visits to the central Ohio area.

When we checked in (Sunday afternoon), I met a man who was taping up his passenger window after having it smashed Saturday night. His SUV along with two other cars had been broken into and had items stolen. Don't leave anything in your car or anything visible.
So, other than worrying about my car all night long, it was a fun weekend for the boys, age 9. The slide and pool area were good entertainment. We looked for a bandaid in the pool area first aid kit... it was empty, although a small sign said it was stocked weekly.

The staff was friendly, the bed was comfortable, the food was your typical HIE breakfast. What was not enjoyable was leaving in the morning, only to find your front passenger side window had been smashed out by thieves the night before. I was one of 4 or 5 cars on the lot that experienced the same thing last week and needless to say, it was not a very favorable experience. I travel enough and have learned to leave absolutely nothing in plain view and to take everything of value out of my car and into my room. Unfortunately, it didn't matter this go around and the thieves still decided to break my window and rummage through my car. They left with very little, but I was left with a severe headache and the task of finding a window repair shop in an unfamiliar area. Police officers said that this particular area of Columbus has been targeted with break-ins, especially at hotels, for the past month or two. Moral of the story, if you stay on the north side of Columbus, especially near the Polaris Mall, leave absolutely nothing of value in your car.

Came in late - the night dude checked me in & was SO welcoming & friendly (Jimmy was his name, perhaps? It was late, I was tired). I felt at ease after a stressful day of travel - the hotel was quiet & I got some great rest. Room was comfortable & clean. Previous reviewers commented on the different decor, but I thought it was nice that they had something different. We don't live there, so no harm in a little purple action. Would definitely recommend & stay again.

Your breakfast staff (Mylene & Alisha) do an excellent job of keeping all areas clean and well stocked. They go one step further in that they remember the guests names from day to day and even week to week. Both these ladies are to be comended on the job they do.

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel many times and have always been happy with the service and comfort we've received. This time, however, I had some questions when making my reservation and I called the front desk. The girl who answered my call was unable to answer a Priority Rewards question and made me feel pressured to reserve a room because, "There was only one room left". She suggested that I talk to a manager the next day so I called again. This time I left a message with the manager and never received a call back. This was an unusual situation because normally the service is above and beyond. I do hope this is a one time anomaly because we normally enjoy staying at this property. I must say that the girl at the front desk, when we checked in, was fantastic. She answered my questions, gave me a reasonable rate and upgraded my room without any problems. She was great!

The hotel is modern and pretty. The pool is pretty good. Great jacuzzi.
Staff service was very disappointing though. They looked like they were trying to put as many obstacles as possible in my enjoying my stay. Every time I asked for something it was no, no.
I really hope you can do something about this!

Our room was next to the elevator machine room so we heard many noises as the elevators were being used. There were too many people in the hotel and our floor was filled with parents with children who were uncontrolled and ran around yelling even after 11 p.m. The front desk said they would only be able to get up to our floor to see into the situation at least 10 minutes later. The breakfast place was filled up with kids from some day camp or trip who were not being appropriately managed. The coffee was too cold. The pancake machine was not working properly. The orange juice felt as if it was diluted from powder. Overall, we had a bad experience.

Was concerned upon check-in due to the hotel being full from a youth hockey tournament. Found that it was exceptionally quiet in our room! Appreciated the attention to a request for an upper floor and a room away from the elevator.
As a platinum PC member, thought there would be a welcome package like in so many other locations. There should have been a refrigerator in our room but the slot was empty. Nevertheless, the breakfast staff was kind and the room was very comfortable.

This was my first stay at this particular hotel. I attempted to stay last summer, but they were booked. I ended up at a nearby Holiday Inn which ended up being a disaster.
This Holiday Inn EXPRESS was night and day different. Large, spacious rooms. Beautiful decor. And a very reasonable price. Great resturaunts very close. And the staff was super friendly. The manager even had a taco party the night I was there-very cool. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and have added this location to my favorites.

The basics were met at this HIE. Front desk staff was very nice. However the entire hotel is decorated very modern in all gray, black and purple, including the rooms. Not a very relaxing. It looked like a cheap attempt at Euro design that failed. The breakfast room was really bad. Instead of the traditonal tables for two or four, there was one huge bar height common table that seated about ten with power outlets at each seat. I guess they planned on a bunch of business people who must eat and work on their laptops all at one time within an 18 inch space. I I were here for business this would not have been a selling point. Then there was the whiteboard at the entrance to the breakfast room with the disclaimer that all patrons must have shirts and shoes. What kind of clientele do they anticipate? We opted to eat elsewhere.
Since this establishment is across from Polaris it will always be busy regardless, but I do wish they would do something about the look and feel of the place.

First time we stayed at this hotel. Overall experience - EXCELLENT!! The only negative would be that doors to the rooms are heavy and are quite loud when they close unless held. The Staff absolutely goes out of their way to provide outstanding customer service. Considering all, will definitely stay there in the future.

Due to some relocation of family members we decided to have our family christmas in Columbus and chose to stay at this hotel for many reasons: the pool was kid friendly and was a lot of fun for everyone. It created a great atmosphere for the grandparents to spend time with their grand children.
The hotel was very accomidating. They gave us a free upgrade to a larger room since they knew that we were having a family event. We had our family gift exchange in the breakfast area which was very spacious and nice. It made it very easy for us to spend some time talking and playing with the kids. We made sure that were cleaned up after oursevles so we didn't put the hotel out.
We really felt that the hotel went out of their way to make our family get togother memorable and enjoyable.
We will definitely stay there again.

I normally stay at an IHG hotel, and this was by far the best experience at a Holiday Inn Express I've had in a while. Knowledgeable staff, close to everything I needed, and really clean rooms. If I'm back in the Columbus area, I'll definitely stay here again.
