Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to stay I really like the consistency of Holiday Inn Expresses with their quality & pricing. I only have an issue with some of their hotels internet quality. I do reports while in the road so a great connection is key, but the unsecure internet access seemed convenient, until it kicked me off of the internet every 30mins. I'd rather have a login, even a set login as a customer (IHG) if it'll insure a better internet quality. That really is my only complaint. Thank you for keeping the standard in business class hotels. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fabulous Service We brought a basketball team and their families to this hotel. Rooms were comfortable. Breakfast was nice. Staff was amazing! They helped with every request. We were able to use breakfast area for team dinner and movie the last night which allowed the team to eat and some much needed relaxation. Kudos to the local staff. January 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good breakfast We arrived just before dark and left before dawn. Needed good bed, good breakfast not later then 0600 and welcome for our service dog. People with dogs seem to be assigned a certain room, probably a room reserved for people with dogs. This makes the carpet suspect as evidenced by the keen interest our dog had in the carpeting. Pity this is the case. That said, fact that the hotel does allow us to bring in our dog is the main reason we always stop at a Holiday Inn Express and will continue to do so when we travel by road. When my party and I first entered the lobby, my friends thought it had a strong smell; however, having worked in the hospitality industry for almost ten years, I knew what they were smelling: clean. I told them it was the cleaner used to sanitize and freshen everything. Max at the front desk checked us in quickly and with a smile, although I wasn't acknowledged as being a Rewards Member (on a stay at another HI Express, we received two complimentary bottles of water as a thank you for our membership status). Our rooms were clean and comfortable; the amenities in the bathroom were from Bath and Body Works, one of my favorite shops. The beds were comfortable and had a variety of pillows to choose from; soft, etc and these were embroidered on the pillowcases so a guest wouldn't have to go through 'trail and error' to figure out which pillows would work best. We slept well; when we went to the breakfast area to grab a bite before leaving for our conference, two members of our party told us not to bother: they had tried the eggs which they said were nasty and uneatable and the sausage was also gross. I could have gotten an English muffin and some fruit; however I needed something hot and more substantial, so we found a fast food restaurant nearby, which was a little disappointing since I had factored into my budget getting breakfast at the hotel, as well as the time needed to prepare and get to my location. I ended up arriving later than planned. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel, although I would tell them to plan on having breakfast someplace else. December 31, 2014
