Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Lack of information When I arrived in the car park of the hotel I realised that the on-site pub/restaurant was closed for refurbishment. Once I got inside the hotel I found out that unlike many HIE these days, this one does not serve food in the evenings. I believe this information should have been given to me at the point of making the reservation which I made by phone to central reservations. At breakfast the following morning I filled a bowl with porridge only to find that it was stone cold. I checked the urn and it was turned off. I have stayed here several times over the years and never had any issues. On this occasion I had two reasons to be dissapointed,one through bad communication and one through a staff oversight. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good as always Its always been a good place to stay, i stayed here before for around 3 months, and at another time my mother stayed here also for around 3 months. the only thing negative for me is no transport to the airport, sure there is bus or taxi train, but it would be nice if it was like in the USA where the hotels provide transport. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by What a bed! We had one of the refurbished rooms and it was well done, except the bed. I have previously complained about the soft beds and this drove my wife and I to always request twin beds. This new bed was like a plank. I am 98kg and it did not give at all. My wife at 58kg had even more problems. A very uncomfortable night. The twin beds also seem to be of a non standard size as the sheets did not fit properly. (or is it the sheets?) They did not tuck in at the foot and in the morning they were all pulled up exposing the mattress. How do some hotels get it so right and others so wrong? The principle requirement for an overnight stay is the bed. Its not rocket science. January 28, 2016
