Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A pleasant place to relax in a busy town. The hotel was easy to find , since I arrived very tired from the train from Euston. I had come in order to go to my cousin's funeral and needed to be sure to get to the church in good time in the morning and to relax on the night before. The staff were very helpful, being willing to chat and also to come to my room to help me with the lighting .They booked a taxi in the morning The guest room and the bathroom were beautifully clean and comfortable, and the shower was the best yet.I would, however have liked a small bottle of body lotion to be provided. The only slight disappointment was the food. The fish and chips were rather dry and pre-packaged and I should have liked a slightly larger choice of food for breakfast- eg. fried eggs and possibly hash browns or vegetarian sausages. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Hotel - Poor location I chose to stay at the HIEX Crewe owing to it's proximity to a venue that I was attending for a course. On first impression from the website photos it looked a modern and clean hotel. On arrival in Crewe it was easy enough to find, however entering the road to the hotel you are contesting it with the clients of the McDonalds and National Car hire that is on the same site, a scenario that only gets worse as the night goes on The hotel itself is clean but in the common areas it could do with a re-paint where hotel guests have "abused" the walls with their luggage or spilled drinks. The stair carpet is not wearing well and could do with replacement, otherwise the rooms are modern and clean. The bed that was in my room was not very comfortable though, walking with a stiff back on each of the three mornings. The breakfast is a HIEX breakfast and I do not understand other client's complaints of lack of choice. HIEX do not provide full English. There were enough options for me, ranging from fruit, yoghurt and serial for the healthy to a partial fried breakfast for the traditional. There are complaints about "sticky" tables and I agree, though I do not think it is dirt, it is the cleaner that is used. If you have a room at the front of the hotel then McDonalds is a pain, it is open late night and on Fridays and Saturdays attracts those that have had too much to drink therefore being very noisy I found the staff in the hotel very helpful, from the time that I checked in they responded to every request and requirement, moving me to another room just after check in owing to the inability to access the internet in the first room. They are all very cheerful and helpful Overall I enjoyed the stay, even with McDonalds and would return again, but only if guaranteed a rear facing room. September 24, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Place to Stop over 1st visit to this hotel and was generally very happy with the stay and would recommend it. Car parking and hotel location ,beside fast food restaurants ,car rental office ,not ideal. Rooms were finished to a high standard and well maintained. Staff were very helpful and genuine which is the real plus at this hotel. No proper restaurant in the hotel but a very basic and adequate menu if you don't want to eat out. Breakfast was okay and included in the price. Overall I would definately go back. September 7, 2015
