Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Service The greeting upon arrival was first class and my expectations were achieved with the first few minutes of entering the hotel, the reception people were welcoming and very accommodating to my needs. Breakfast was fair, butI have received better in other Holiday Inn Expresses. Overall experience received was excellent and I would stay there again. September 9, 2013

Very central to Crewe so a tad noisy but that is what you get with the location . hotel and room were very clean and staff were friendly efficient very helpful. Room (302) very noisy due to aircon rattling & banging throughout the night. Stayed at IC hotels all over the world. This is the worst by a long way. Won't be using again August 28, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent stay - all round I stayed here for the evening of the 17th august with my family. we had 2 rooms and these were next to each other as requested. I also requested a twin and double room - again our request was met fully. The rooms were clean, a good size and had plenty of storage space. The bathrooms wouldn't have looked out of place in a 5* hotel. In addition we were given free wifi for use anywhere in the hotel. The breakfast was perfect. Lots of choice and the various items were constantly topped up meaning they were fresh and no one was left without. Finally, every member of staff we met was friendly and competent in their job. An excellent stay - all round and i will be using this hotel the next time I visit Crewe August 22, 2013

It was perfectly clean, the water pressure was extremely good, it was quiet and the air conditioning was very customisable. On the negative side the staff weren't particularly friendly or chirpy but they still answered my questions and basically got the job done. The breakfast was fine although the selection could have been wider. For business it was excellent since I could have a business meeting in the restaurant area with free wi-fi. Overall it was an excellent stay and I would recommend the venue to anyone thinking of staying overnight on a business trip. August 18, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Ok for one night Not a great experience. Room was ok but air conditioning was turned off. The staff came up and turned it on at the motherboard in the roof. The only issue was it was the stuck on the one low temperature all night and turned the room into an ice bucket. When staff were told they were less than helpful!! Don't eat in the bar at night. Lasagne was microwaved to a crisp that you could break your teeth and the gammon steak dry and like the sole of shoe. Really disappointing. To to McDonalds or tesco express next to hotel for a better meal! We love the holiday inn brand and as platinum members we were gutted at this one falling short of the mark. Bedroom was clean but bathroom was full of water marks and needed a good scrub. Stay in another hotel if in the area as this one can do better. August 9, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Stay cool in hot summer I spent four nights in this hotel during the recent heatwave. While it was stifling outside, the room stayed cool and the comfortable bed meant I had no difficulty sleeping. I am sure the air-conditioning would be just as effective as a heater in the winter. The food menu was quite restricted but what they had was good. Overall I would recommend this hotel. July 27, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable but poor evening meal We were very disappointed with the meal served in the evening. The lasagna was so hard I could not cut through the pasta, it was very dry and the salad was not fresh. My husband had the burger which he said was very dry, we both left most of our meal. We would have reported this problem to a member of staff but when we left the table there was no one on reception. I did report the problem to the receptionist the next morning. July 14, 2013

Staff professional, welcoming and helpful at all times. Great room, comfortable bed and fab WiFi. Highly recommended. July 3, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very helpful, polite staff We have stayed several times with this chain of hotels, and been very satisfied. This time, the room was hot, the air conditioning was noisy, and there was no obvious way for us to control it. There was also some sort of fan or generator going outside our window during most of the night. We both suffered with sinus problems for about 24 hours after our stay. We did mention it in reception next day, and the young lady was most apologetic. June 9, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Room but overrun staff The first room we were offered had no electricity due to the control contactor not working. The duty manager quickly provided an alternative which was very comfortable. There was a large wedding party booked in and there was just not enough staff to cater for there demands with long waits for evening food. The breakfast was missing several components due to still being frozen or still being cooked. Again due to only one staff in kitchen. However staff seemed sincerely apologetic and probably a good venue on another night. May 14, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor quality We have stayed at HI since 1993 (all over the world) and I have to say this is the worst one in which we have stayed. The staff were excellent, that's the good news. The walls appear to be made from a mixture of paper mache and case hardened butter. We could hear people breathing next door!! We asked for a quite room and had one right by the hall entrance (after been given a double which we did not ask for), our room was sandwiched between three couples who lacked the courtesy to close the room doors quietly - the doors banged all afternoon and evening, never heard a set of doors so badly adjusted (we moved to York and the doors there closed with just a snick even if you tried to slam them!!!!). I know you cannot blame to hotel, but the smell of cooking from the MacDonalds next door (24hrs) was ever present. April 28, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Crewe Hotel must be going through a traumatic upgrade as we found that boxes and paint tins were left abandoned on the 3rd Floor by the lift and remained there overnight, our room overlooked a big skip of Hotel room waste including mattresses!. Our room smelt of paint and the shaver points did not work. Very dissapointed. Hotel was very noisy. April 17, 2013

Luckily !! we were given the last room left. Comfortable bed but bathroom very cold and extractor fan not working. Will stay again but only because it is handy for visiting family in Crewe but not impressed this time March 9, 2013

I and my father were staying a couple of days before Christmas, to visit my little sister who was going to Crewe Uni. We enjoyed our stay enormously. The hotel is situated near the Centre, shops and so on. Our short stay was too short, in fact. So we would like to visit Crewe and Holiday Inn Express next time again ! I accept that it varies between hotels but he stated with the HIEX brand you get no perks!!!??? At check the system was down and I was unable to pay. May be you are going to give this one for free? However I was promised the charge and receipt would be emailed to this email address the same day that I stayed - thats a load of rubbish as its still not arrived You will see I have already referred to your hotel on Tripadvisor - which I regularly contrubute to December 14, 2012

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by WORSE HOTEL IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!! Had a problem with the air condition – it would not adjust from the room and was set to centrally manage. Set at 26 c. I asked for it to be turned down and was told that by reception that they would reset and call be back….never got a call back…when I rang back I was told that they did not want to dispute me!!!!! Was told there was a problem with the system…..asked for general manger to ring me at 9am in the morning….9am came and went ….guess what …NO CALL from GM……I rang reception just after 9.30 and was told the GM was busy trying to get the checking out system working …they could not check out staff…asked why he had not called me back and they could not answer…..GM rang me 15 mins later …said he asked one of his staff to call me at 9.00am but they failed…the GNM showed little interest in my issues even when I said I could not find the switch to turn off the radiator in the bathroom …he said it was outside near the light switch….well there was only one switch outside which turned the light on or off….nothing to switch the radiator off …which was on full blast all night….it was so hot…..on check out I asked where the switch was and the reception said it was located behind the tea/coffee cupboard which was underneath the light switch for the bathroom….so if you want to switch off the heater in the bathroom you have to move the cupbroad….as a Platinum member who stays over 100 nights a year for the past 8 years …this is the worst hotel every….avoid at all cost.
