Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good business travel value I prefer Holiday Inn Express because I appreciate the free hot breakfast and the fact that many of the Express properties are recently purpose-built. This location is an older building with extensive remodeling to match the Express setting and ambiance, and while it shows its age in a few areas, they have done a good job at renovation. The public areas are bright and clean, the breakfast room is comfortable and clean, and the pool area is well kept. I had a single room that came with a sofa, big enough for lounging, but unfortunately not facing the TV- they should switch the TV and desk. The air conditioner is dated and primitive, but functional. I was surprised to have fully opening windows (in Dallas!), although my room faced the highway and the security lights outside prevented me having the windows opened even it if wasn't 90 degrees outside. The staff at the front desk seemed to be on the phone every time I walked by. There are restaurants a few blocks away, and a Studio Movie Grill for those who like a movie and drinks at one location. Home base for three nights, great price, excellent location. August 26, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Smoking Rm 237 was supposed to be a non-smoking room. Reservation was ordered that way and the room had a no smoking symbol by the door. But there had been smoking in the room previously. it had fragrance etc in it but it did not cover it up. It was very obvious. I've never smoked and it was VERY OBVIOUS smoking had been there. My friend also agreed and verified it. August 3, 2014
