How does housekeeping know who has checked out and who has not. The answer is "they don't". The procedure followed by this hotel and other Holiday Inn's is to have housekeeping knock on doors to see if you are in. I have been disturbed out of sleep as early as 7:45 by housekeeping looking to get in the room to clean. This culminated with housekeeping walking in on me coming out of the bathroom during my recent stay in Danbury. There has to be a better way. Many times during business trips I am out by 6am. Other times I may be working in the room until 9am. Not unusual to have housekeeping walk right in. Do I have to put out a do not disturb sign at 7am?!! When heading down to the lobby at 9am the elevator was occupied by the service cart and two employees. Could have squeezed in next to all the garbage and dirty towels from all the rooms on the floor but decided to wait. Brought my concerns to the attention of the manager when checking out.

This location surpassed our expectations of quality, guest care and services provided. The surrounding restaurants recommended by the staff were excellent. The complimentary breakfast provided also exceeded expectations.

It was a great stay. I felt great. The Jacuzzi is great, the bedroom is clean, and everything was great.
There are 2 things that need improvement. The beds either need to be changed or maybe a layer of foam can be added. The bed is not that comfortable. This place needs room service.
Everything here is so great; why not have it. The breakfast is delicious. Maybe they can get the same caterers to make different food all the time. I am pretty sure it would make the hotel better.
Overall great stay.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Holiday Inn Express. I was expecting a possibly rude staff, but everyone was so accomodating and nice. My only complaint was the smell of new or painted furniture in the room. I had to crack my window to get rid of some of the smell. The front desk clerk said they had been updating all the rooms and offered me another one, but that one had a similar odor. Besides for that, the breakfast was delicious!!!

The staff at this hotel, especially the general manager Judy, were absolutely fantastic. They went out of our way to meet everyone of our needs perfectly despite travelling in a large group. When there was a problem with our reservation (that was entirely my fault) they took care of the problem and ensured our stay was the best stay possible.
Their breakfast area was great as was the quality of the breakfast. The rooms were clean and wonderful. And the hotel itself is walking distance to many great places to eat.
I travel to hotels 15-20 times a year. I can say with certainty that this hotel is one I will be returning to since I have never met a staff as wonderful as this one.

I stayed there a year ago and since then it has been rennovated. The rennovations came out really well. The Lobby is very inviting and nicely decorated. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. The breakfast buffet in the morning offered a lot of choices. My kids loved the pastries! The staff was very friendly. Great experience all the way around!

Stuck in the city due to a snow storm.....Thank the heavens for the Holiday Inn Express! They were able to accommodate us and made us feel right at home. Great service and a great breakfast!

This property was newly renovated and was an excellent stay. The staff was extremely friendly, and helpful. I travel for work and am on the road for 75% of the year. It was a relaxing stay with great accessibility to the highway. They had great food in the mornings.

I have been traveling to this area for business for the last 10yrs.
Having stayed in various other properties over the years I was delighted when The Holiday Inn Express opened at this location.
From my first visit on I have been made to feel welcome and comfortable.
The rooms are very well done and have all the amenities one might need for a comfortable stay.
I would highly recomend this Hotel to anyone who is traveling in the area.

When I checked in , I specifically asked for a quiet room. Turns out the room was next to the ice machine and the 24 hour laundry which was used until 3 am. The breakfast was minimal for the HIE.
Otherwise the room was comfortable and the hotel was the same as I am used to at the Holiday Inn Express.

My family checked in after a very long drive and were treated with a real lack of respect while doing so
The room had roaches and the fridge barely worked.
I never experienced this during all my years staying in this location when it was a comfort suites
Rude employees are not what you want to encounter after an 11 hour trip

This hotel was fairly clean but my main complaint was there was no hot water for the first full evening of our stay. We had booked 4 rooms to attend a funeral so we had 11 guests in our family that were not able to take a hot shower during this period of time. Normally this would not have been such an incovenience but after travelling 10 hours to arrive at our destination this is something I have come to expect in any hotel. While they did reduce the room rate somewhat I feel that more should have been done considering the amount of rooms that we had booked and based on my other experiences with the Holiday Inn franchise. The fitness center was very dated and did not appear to be maintained well and the breakfast choices were more limited than most other HI expresses I frequent. On the plus side it was conviently located off of the highway and in close proximity to dining choices both local and chain types with the mall being a short 10 minute drive from the location.

The hotel has been recently renovated from the parking lot to the rooms.
Everything is very clean and nice. Bed is very comfortable. Staff is very professional and nice.
Breakfast continues to be a problem for Holiday Inn Express.
The one in Danbury was especially poor.
The machine labeled orange juice, actually contained orange drink.
It's strictly carbs, and the yogurts are high in sugar.
They should get rid of it if they can't make it better. They would be better off just serving coffee and tea, because there are places for breakfast within a half mile.
