We were told our room was a non smoking room and it smelled like someone had just smoked 10 packs if cigarets. Just horrible. They wouldn't give us our money back or move us. This place is terrible. The property is in a great location to be close to many activates in the area. The breakfast was full of choices, but some fruit would be a nice addition. October 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome experience My wife and I left Myrtle Beach for a long drive home and made a rewards reservation at the Danridge, TN Holiday Inn Express. We were supposed to arrive around 10 PM on Oct 5, but a traffic incident on the interstate held us up for 2 hours and we arrived around midnight. Tired and looking at another 8 hour drive home on Sunday Oct 6 . We needed a good nights rest and breakfast in the morning to get started for the long drive. I am a platium member of Holiday Inn and travel almost every week in a five state area and stay at a Holiday Inn. My wife and I both were surprised how quickly we were checked in late at night and we were given a room upgrade and were able to unwind, relax and rest. The room was more than we expected and although there was a sports team staying at your hotel, we were able to eat a good breakfast and get back on the road in great shape, thanks to your staff and hotel. Wish you were in my business area I would stay at your hotel. If we ever get back to this area we will book another stay at your hotel. Thanks for making our stay a relaxing and enjoyable even if it was for only short time. October 8, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by quiet and relaxing We could not have asked for more. We had read reviews on this hotel and were a little worried that it would be loud. It was not. This proves that the level of quiet is more dependent on the people staying at the hotel at the time of your stay. The beds were comfortable. It was quiet.... 45 players from a college football team were there at the same time of our stay (thank you to the coaches that must have had control or at least respect from the players). The breakfast was a wonderful variety and fresh. Our room was clean. The staff was helpful and pleasant. We will definitely stay there when we are in the area again. September 26, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed Having stayed in many Holiday Inn Express all over the US, I was disappointed in our first room, as well as, the room they moved us to. My "water walking" , a treatment for arthritis, went by the wayside when dirt balls were floating in the pool and the bottom looked like it had not been cleaned for several days. After experiencing the second room, I made the decision to be frank with the management in surveys. The reception staff did all they could do, they just did not have the available help to make it what I have learned to expect . September 6, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy but great breakfast and comfortable bed The bed was superbly comfortable and I would have been able to relax if it hadn't been so noisy on the hallway outside my room. People coming and going until almost 1 a.m. My traveling companion's room was on the other wing and she had noisy people in the hallway AND upstairs from her. Breakfast was great - even scrambled eggs. Too bad it was so noisy. August 8, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing Experience I was disappointed that there were strands of dark hair scattered across the bathroom counter when I went into the room for the first time. The bedroom had a shabby appearance to it; the curtains were detached from the hardware and dragging on the floor. Finally, although there were signs posted asking guests to be quiet between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am, I was still awake at 1:30 am due to pounding footsteps overhead. The night clerk tried to resolve the problem at 1:00 am when I called the front desk, but the pounding continued. Not the hotel's fault, but this was just one more thing that contributed to a less than pleasant experience. August 2, 2013

We also had enough room to set up my son's pak n play for the night. We did not try the outside pool, breakfast was fine but we have had more of a selection at other HI Express's we've stayed at. Easy to find off the exit and close to restaurants, gas stations, etc. we will stay again if we need to travel down 81. July 27, 2013

It is an exceptionally well run/managed hotel. The rooms are always very clean, a nice variety of food at breakfast, the fruit fresh is updated dally. Simple things like fresh bananas without bruises show the attention to detail that runs throughout the property! This continues to be our "go-to" hotel. July 21, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overall good stay I was a little put off when I entered the Holiday Inn Dandridge because of the very strong aroma of a scented candle or spray. However since I was very tired after my flight from England and drive from North Carolina, I really needed a room. The room was very nice and initially there were no problems. However during my shower the next morning I realized that there was a wash cloth hanging on the curtain rod. I did not remove it and left it there and when I closed the shower curtain it was not visible. Which led me to believe that the cleaning staff must not have moved the shower curtain after the previous guest. I informed the staff on duty at the front desk about the problem. She initially didn't say much so I left to put my bags in my car. When I returned she told me that she was going to give me 1000 points on my rewards card. I didn't have a rewards card but my wife does (she's active duty Air Force) so I thought that's where she was going to put them. However afterwards I checked and realized she must have created an account and then gave me the points. Although at the time that is not what she indicated she was doing. Those 1000 points do nothing for me, I will probably never use them. I'm disappointed in the reaction of the staff about this incident. I would have appreciated a discount instead because now I feel as though my problem, although small, was pretty much disregarded. When we travel we usually try and look for a Holiday Inn Express to stay because we usually get good service and value. I'm hoping this is just an isolated incident. Thank you for your time. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Rudest desk clerk ever We stopped here last Saturday night. B. W. is the rudest desk Clerk that we've ever dealt with at any hotel. She had the audacity to say that we were lying when she had not quoted us a rate when we callled from the road an hour before check in. we arrived and she charged us 22% more than the internet rate. She was highly confrontational when I came back down to the desk to get sheets and pillows for the sofa bed, she insisted that they were in the room, they were not. She was the most unpleasant desk clerk anywhere. June 21, 2013

Not only is it the half-way point for our travel, this HI Express hotel is just off the highway, but yet so very quiet. We truly appreciate the courteous and professional staff; rooms are comfortable and clean; and the breakfast choices meet every family members needs. We travel with 2 "furry kids" so we are very happy this hotel is pet friendly. We've had at least 8 stays and we've never been disappointed. Thank you HI Express - Dandridge. . June 17, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Pass it by While furnishings are new and comfortable including the bed, chairs, tables and lamps, and the front desk attendant was quite friendly, everything else went downhill. Imagine entering your room to be greeted by a previous guest's towel hanging on the door, a flashing radio clock with the clock set for 6 hours earlier, and an unplugged bedside lamp that was impossible to plug in because the only receptacle was behind the king size bed which was immovable. The Internet was almost impossible to conduct any business of a sustained nature on. Beyond the room, there were large stains in the elevator's carpet, bare metal showing on painted surfaces at a back door and the door handle was very loose. There was only one icemaker inconvenient to those on second and third floors, the breakfast was mediocre, the TV in the breakfast room was blaring a politically-oriented cable network, and patrons were jammed into the tiny room in 30 heavy chairs and at 8 tables in a space that qualified for no more than two-thirds of those numbers. It seemed there must be no one checking on IHG properties in this area for this one surely qualifies as substandard by almost every other hotel we've been to. We won't be back. April 29, 2013
