My experience over the years of staying at Holiday Inn Express has always been positive (primarily in Wilmington NC). Never a negative feeling about them. However, this one in Davie FL had some flaws. only 3 things really:
1. Hard to get in an out of the parking lot especially if you have to turn left. Davie Rd always seems busy or at least busy enough to make it difficult.
2. I love the breakfast menu but yesterday and especially today were disheartening. It's certainly not managed like Wilmington and the breakfast staff lady didn't seem in any hurry to reload the cinnamon rolls, eggs, biscuits, etc. Waited for nearly 20mins (after I got there) before the restocking occurred. She carried around some water, left for a while, came back brought out a few oranges, did some other things then finally got around to it. The pancake machine was also broken and not labeled as being "out of order". I've never written a review so apparently it struck a nerve. I never complained and just settled for the scraps that were there. The place wasn't particularly busy either so it wasn't the demand driving the shortage.
3. Not sure why the toilet paper is sooooooo far from the toilet. Never noticed it before maybe it's because my left should has some soreness but you have to reach and lean about as far as you can. It's about 3.5' away and behind you. Maybe I'm just getting old.
Anyways, I'm still a fan of Holiday Inn Express....... :)

We stayed the night after a week in the Keys before heading home the next morning. The location is great-a couple miles from the airport and a couple more miles to Fort Lauderdale beach areas. Easy in and out of the downtown area. Clean comfortable rooms, great overnight stay

We came to visit family and found this hotel to be perfect location-wise. The front desk staff was amazing. Not only were they friendly but incredibly accommodating. The room was basically clean but there were hidden areas that were not as clean as I would have liked (like the top of the plastic protective shield over the air-conditioning vents). My husband and I usually visit in an RV and this is our first experience staying at hotels in 10 years. It did not disappoint. We were very comfortable. And the TV service was excellent. It made coming back to the room at night very enjoyable.

loved my stay wished I could have stayed the entire time there. My family changed their plans and we checked out early, there was no problem with that at all and if I decided to return I would get the same great rate. I would like to have had a whirl pool by the swimming pool though, however that wouldn't stop me from staying there again.

Misha at the front desk was wonderful to deal with from the first phone call to make reservations through check in, she was awesome. She helped coordinate ground transportation from Fort Lauderdale to Miami port for our cruise. Thanks again Misha!

When we arrived to check in, we were not greeted as gold members. After going to the room, the room smelled strongly of paint, the shower didnt work and the tub filled with water. The fridge would not get cold. We asked for another room. Had to argue to get the king room we reserved. The new room was old and musty. Fridge again did not work well. Service in the breakfast area was bad. We tried breakfast every day of our stay but was unable to get any meat. The attendant would not bring more out. This is not the first time we had this problem with the breakfast attendant. Yes, we did call all of this to the attention of the front desk. It didnt make a difference that we were gold members or not. We seem to have been treated better when we were just club members. Do not stay here...there is not enough parking and we had to leave our vehicle on the side of the curb. The front desk gentlemen told me just find a place. We will not be back. We have complained about this and nothing was done.
