Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality Hotel in a small town It was a nice surprise to see a hotel like this in a remote area. If I come back to Dayton, I'll be sure to stay here again. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. Not much more is needed when I travel. November 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service and Comfort Whenever we head to Dayton, whether to bring students from our high school in Florida to visit the local college, or to visit our daughter, a student there, we have a great experience at the Holiday Inn Express. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast is tasty and healthful. We do appreciate this hotel. November 18, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great over all service We traveled to Dayton for a wedding the weather was terrible but the hotel was warm and cozy. We were able to visit with friends and relatives and enjoy ourselves while we were there. The workers were all very friendly and helped us with all of our inquiries. November 13, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible. When I first arrived with my boss, there were two people in sweats sitting out front smoking. We walked in and stood there, one of the ladies (sweatshirt, sweatpants, and flipflops) gets up and walks inside and around the desk. I asked if I my room was ready -- she proceeds to get on a walkie talkie and says my room number out loud - the room was registered in my name with one occupant. That is unacceptable! I do not want the entire hotel lobby knowing what room I am in. When it wasn't ready (which is fine, we were early) we left and came back later. The next representative showed my room number to my boss as well and there was another person standing at the counter but behind me. I do not want my room number shown. Because it was just my boss and I trust him, I did not tell them to give me another room number, but if that is common practice in this hotel then something needs to be done. That night, the fire alarm went off at 10:45 pm. I took my time getting my shoes and my purse, when I was getting ready to walk out of my room I heard a door slam with running and I followed down the stairs. When I got to the lobby, I notice the night representative is running from my direction to the desk. What is she doing on the third floor in a hotel room at 10:45 at night! Was she smoking and set the alarm off? Unacceptable! Walking back to my room alone, other men who are alone now know I'm traveling alone. The shower drain wouldn't stay up while I was showering, I stuffed a washcloth in there to let the water drain. My boss and I were thinking about eating breakfast there, but by the appearance of the staff I vetoed that. I felt that they were not professional enough and would not eat at a holiday inn because of their appearance. One lady was extremely overweight and sat at the front desk; I couldn't see her when I walked in. I understand she's overweight and may need to sit down more, but when the door opens and someone is coming in, she should stand up and be professional. Not that this is a big deal, but I asked what time the gym opens, the night clerk told me 5am. It opens at 5:30am. I was standing outside waiting for it to unlock. If the staff is working there, they should know simple things like what time the pool and gym open and close. This was the most unprofessional staff I have ever met at a Holiday Inn Express. I will not stay there again. I do not feel safe there. November 10, 2014
