Great location, friendly staff, but Breakfast was not up to Holiday Inn Express standards, Casino is very small.
Upon our arrival we took advantage of the free Valet service (very nice) and dropped our bags on the first floor room and headed to the Casino. We were dissapointed in the small selection of machines. We soon headed out to the street in search of bigger facilities.
Our room while close to the Casion was also right next to the Highway, so cars were passing by at bed level, the noise and the proximity made for a less than satisfying night's rest.
Breakfast was dissappointing, no silverware, napkins, no seating, the lobby is very small. Several of the entrees were out, we mentioned this to the staff, they said thanks but, it took quite awhile to see any visible action, we gave up and too our meagher breakfast back to our room.
Valet was fast and courteous. Front counter staff was way behind in the morning activities, bills usually under the door were available only upon checkout, just not the normal Holiday Inn experience.

I have stayed here before and I will continue to stay here when I am in Deadwood. I love this hotel it is clean, in a great location, and the staff is very friendly. We did have some trouble with our first room, the AC wasn't working properly and it was hot in the room. We talked to the front desk and they immediately moved us to another room. I was very happy how quickly and efficiently our request was handled!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Teresa9392 Perfect location for a Deadwood visit
This was our first trip to Deadwood and we picked the perfect place. Walk out the door to shops, restaurants, and Casinos. We felt safe and felt safe letting our teenage boys walk back to the hotel after dinner.
The only thing I did not like was the window in our suite was an inside window, not an outside window. I don't think I realized that when I booked. Not a big deal but just unusual.
Front desk recommended Mavericks for dinner and it was a great experience.

Nice hotel, clerk was not aware of a 3-wheeler rally going on down the street which impacted the convenience of the parking garage (which is about 1 1/2 blocks from the hotel). They did offer valet which we did not utilize. We were also traveling with our dog and there is not much green space in Deadwood! Hard to find a good place to walk the puppy!
Staff was friendly and we loved the breakfast!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Katyara Central location, great staff
Stayed here for a week on a family vacation to see the local sights in the area. A great central location, Deadwood itself is neat with it's history and a casual nightlife atmosphere. Great food, you just have to go looking for it a bit.
The hotel staff was great, very helpful and attentive. The pool area was perfect for out 3 kids and the breakfast was great too. They kept it stocked and fresh. Not a lot of variety from day to day but that didn't matter to me. it was hot, fresh and tasty.
We only had 2 problems - the cleaning staff, which friendly and helpful, really didn't "clean" the room. They would tidy up and refresh towels but we had the same fruit loop on the bathroom floor all week that was there when we checked in. We left it trying to see if it would ever get picked up and it didn't. The floor never looked vacuumed either. Disappointing.
And the last problem was the WiFi - it would not work in our room. Everywhere else BUT our room. The staff tried to fix the problem but I just think that area of the hotel is like a DMZ or something. Also disappointing as I had some work to do and had to use my phone as a hot spot to run my laptop incurring extra charges on my phone bill for data. This should be looked into.
Outside of those 2 items it was a nice, clean property with great staff and served as a great central location for an "Old West" family trip!

Used reward night. No upgrade. Room had a poor smell, bed was worn. Internet was very poor the first day and not working at all the second. Desk solution was to reset router. Did not work. Very nice lobby. Slot machines right next door. Hotel hooked up with Gold Dust Casino and nice resturant down the block. Valet parking is not fast.
