It was relatively easy to get to the hotel and check in was prompt and easy and the stay was phenomenal with my needs met and exceeded. Every step was made to make the stay with my mother and daughters a great experience. which if ever in the area again, I would definitely book another room.

Room was nice---Hotel is not conveniently located----difficult to find. Then, after locating, difficult turning off service road to gain entrance----If one is going the wrong direction on highway, it's even more difficult to find by having to exit, turn back and find an open left turn lane to turn onto service road. NO signs indicating which narrow driveway from service road leads into hotel. Front desk personnel gave poor directions. Also, we thought too pricey for amenities offering. Food buffet was out of hot food by 9:00AM

No water pressure in the shower/tub. Literally, it was a travisty. I mean you want just a few things to work right when you stay at a hotel: TV, AC/HEAT, BED, and last but certainly NOT least THE SHOWER.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

Was not able to take advantage of this because we did not check in until 11 PM but you can have your free breakfast delivered to your room if you turn in your request by 9PM. Very nice perk.

I used the IHG phone service to book this hotel using reward points. I specifically asked that they find a pet friendly hotel. That was my ONLY requirement.
They booked the holiday inn express in Decatur. When I arrived, i found out it was a $50 charge, per pet....this was not explained on the phone.
A very polite and understanding staff member helped to work it all out.

We spent one night at this location and found it very satisfying. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of towels etc. There was a nice variety of breakfast choices and the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, a nice, quiet stay.

We haave stayed at the Decatur HIE several times on our way to/from Texas where we spend the winters. The motel and staff are always top of the line.
Desk personnel are always courteous and helpful in making our stay a great expeerience.

We were quoted one rate on the website and reserved a room at that rate and when we checked in, the rate was raised $10. The front desk would not honor the original rate. Since we had been driving for 12 hours, we were too tired to argue about it.
The next morning, the breakfast attendant was not friendly at all. She should have drank more coffee - no smile, no "good morning" but she was cleaning the tables.

Because of a default preference setting in my newly created IHG® Rewards Club Members online profile, I unknowingly requested a smoking room when I booked this hotel online. I didn't realize the issue until my wife and I walked into the room. Because of a asthma condition, cigarette smoke causes big big issues for my wife. I quickly ran back down to the desk and told them that I really needed another room. They checked the computers to confirm that, yes I had asked for a smoking room, but without hesitation they happily assigned us to a non-smoking room. I was quite please with the service of the night shift at the front desk, as well as the breakfast crew. Of course, the breakfast was top notch, just like all HIE locations. My one warning to people would be that, if you have a IHG® Rewards Club Members account, make sure that your room preferences are set to what you want. It's unfortunate that they have a default setting at all really... But that is not this location's fault, and they were quick to help correct the problem. They were even the ones to tell me what had likely happened.

The shower could not be turned on and phones in the room did not work. The hotel manager did not provide any positive resolution when brought to her attention nor at check out. The stay was bordering on unsatisfactory due to these problems and lack of resolution.

I had requested & received a confirmation for a King Bed Executive type room. The hotel did not have my requested room. Unacceptable. If th hotel does not have a room to meet my request they need to advise so I can make other arrangements.

We've stayed 15+ nights at IHG hotels this year and been impressed with all of them . . . until this one.
I was disappointed with our stay at this property. We were not greeted warmly. We were given a room right next to the elevator that the light from the parking lot lit up throughout the night.

The entrance is estremely difficult to locate at night. There is no direct access into the hotel, with visitor's being forced to make a U-turn to get back to the property.
With the exception of the hotel entrance, the staff was great and very helpful for our stay. While this was our first stay (traveled through several times) the hotel nicely done and up to date. We felt very comfortable staying here and would recommend it to others.
Minor issue - We arrived for breakfast a little after nine and found some of the hot items were dried out/needed replacing.

I can definitely say I had a good stay at this HIE and it really is a credit to the brand. Check in was easy and the front desk person gave us an excellent restaurant tip to good food without the bustle of the overly popular steak house. The room was well appointed and comfortable although I may be biased here as I was upgraded based on my Priority Club status. Breakfast was the sole flaw - the juice was ridiculously thin although I was happy with the sausage and biscuit, muffin, and food offerings.
Oh - one other small flaw - for some reason google and other map services don't have a good lock on its location and the divided highway requires a U turn to get to it.
I have no issue recommending this place as a stop though.

The OJ was diluted down and had no taste, the chocolate milk we opened was stale, opened up 2 grape jellys that were old and discolored and tasted horrible, finally found a couple that were ok, the gravy, biscuits, eggs, were very tasty.

I always like staying at Holiday In Express, but this location was difficult to enter the parking lot. That cant be helped, i know. Also the person who checked me in upon arrival was not the nicest person to deal with. The reason i switched to Holiday In Express hotels was because of the excellent customer service majority of your hotels have. Usually i am greeted as a Priority Rewards member and given a water and snack. Not a big deal, but just part of your amazing customer service. This was not completed. The few words that were spoke to me were to the point as if i was bothering her. My name, credit card, ID, vehicle info, and told me where the elevator was. There was no welcome feeling at all. other than my want for customer service this stay was plesant. Other members of staff were very nice and helpful.
