Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Room Condition I had two complaints one was the exhaust fan in my bathroom did not work. I did not mention this to the Staff as I was only staying one night. I stayed in Room 227. Also there were no blinds on the windows only half curtains and shears. The day we left was raining and over cast but it wasn't dark in my room. Other than that the rooms are spacious, clean and modern. Tks! September 4, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice hotel, but was expecting more! This hotel is perfectly fine. The outside looks great, with some cut stone on the façade and a fresh look. Pros: Great breakfast selection which includes a pancake maker (new to me), you just press a button and two minutes later, out comes two pancakes. The dinning area can accommodate a lot of people at the same time. The pool is fun with a water slide. The lobby is fresh and modern looking. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Cons: The carpeting in the hallways is very loud and outdated. The walls in the hallways and rooms have a plaster finish / stucco that is outmoded. The bathroom is just painted in primer colour and is a far cry from a spa bath with the most basic standard white tiles in the bath enclosure. There was not a fan in the bathroom, so the mirror fogged up in a minute. Their is a smell of chlorine the minute you step in the lobby, coming from the pool on the same level. Even if it's a relatively new hotel, the hallways and rooms have a dated look. In general, prices for hotel in Newfoundland are much more expensive than the rest of the Maritimes. For the same price, you could stay in a 4**** in a larger city. September 1, 2014

Impressed with lost and found service, I retrieved a favorite clothing item on our return trip five days later, stopping by to see if the hotel may have had a lost and found. My shirt was bagged, labeled with date and room number and logged in a book for easy retrieval. I was delighted. Will return again no doubt! September 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Loved it- Our trip to Nfld. was a bucket list adventure and the Holiday Inn Express in Deer Lake was the icing on the cake for us. Just felt at home there.Friendly and helpful staff. Everything very clean. The bed "oh the bed" was sooo comfortable!! The room was nice and spacious and the breakfast was Excellent every morning. Top notch Hotel in our book. You won't be disappointed :) August 31, 2014
