Bathroom was spotless with plenty of towels and soap/shampoo/etc. Room temperature required NO adjustment on my part...very comfortable sleep level. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel, but on the edge of sliding...... We started staying at this Holiday Inn Express in late 2011 when a family member moved to Murrysville. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the guest rooms and commons rooms, with the service, the breakfast and the value. In the past year, this Holiday Inn Express facility has started sliding a little. It is almost always full during the week, due to the large number of oil field and construction workers who stay there. The friendly and accommodating housekeeping and maintenance staff all work very hard, but seem unable to keep up with the wear and tear on the facilities. Jason at the front desk is truly a customer service champion. He remembers us when we arrive and welcomes us back. The check in-process is always smooth and efficient, and the front desk personnel are always friendly and personable. But, something has changed. The breakfast servers on the morning we stayed there were blatantly unhappy about having to unpack and store new food supplies. One of the women was hesitant to make more cinnamon rolls for my husband, because I had taken 2 cinnamon rolls and a little bacon to go. She told him she didn't know why he needed a cinnamon roll because he was with me and I had taken "all of that food." As were leaving at 9:45, the maintenance and housekeeping staff was gathering in the breakfast area for breakfast and a meeting with the manager on duty. The breakfast server needed to put out more food for the staff, so I don't know why she was so snippy with my husband. We have always dealt with friendly, cheerful breakfast servers until this visit. The interior of the building is starting to show wear and tear, and is beginning to need some refurbishing. It's like a favorite uncle who can no longer take care of himself and is in need of additional care. The Cortina-Lamplighter Partnership who owns this Holiday Inn Express needs to take a careful look at the facilities and some of the personnel so they can be maintained to their former high standards.
