Front desk was very friendly but unfortunately there was one thing after another that made this visit frustrating. First was put in the wrong room type, then when we were moved into the correct room our room had no towels. All the vending machines in the whole hotel were extremly low or icompletely out of drinks or snacks(no water in any machine also) all coffee containers excepts for decaf were completely empty. Breakfast was not stocked good either. Have stAyed here before wnd many other IHG hotels and Have never been dissatisfied in a stay like I was for this stay :( oh and was not offered a goody bag or points at check in like normally do since I am a reward member( platinum)

This hotel was greatly neglected in care of the facility and for those who stayed there. Our group was there for a gymnastics camp. The hotel knew well in advance how many people would be coming. They were in no way prepared for the number of people staying there. There were not enough towels, food for breakfast or cleaning staff.
Very disappointed in our stay and this visit has left me with a very bad feeling. We have no intentions of ever returning to this Holiday Inn.

I stayed here last year. One difference this year was there was never enough pool towels available. Also, took a while to get additional garbage bags for the room
I would assume that knowing ahead of time how many guests are scheduled especially during a busy time when there is an event within the area, the facility would have enough staffing and supplies ready.
I felt that there wasn't enough front staff available all the time. Seemed like they were stretched to cover other responsibilities.
I recall towards the end of my stay, the elevator went out and we had to use the staircase to bring our belongings down.

The hotel was a disaster. Our room was only cleaned 2 out of the 4 days we were there and we had to ask housekeeping to come clean our room and they came after 5:30 in the evening. The hotel had a shortage of bath towels. When we called the front desk to request more towels, they said they are in the dryer and they don't have many because people have 8 people in a room. Then they asked us if we had any dirty towels and we said we did so they said if we brought them to the front desk then they would have towels, and my response was if housekeeping cleaned our room then they would have been able to get the towels. Just plain rude. The breakfast buffet breads were not fresh, and the eggs were burnt. One evening the elevator broke and kids were trapped in the elevator. After they were able to get out, the elevator was out of service the rest of our trip When we asked the next morning(a Monday) around 9 am when the elevator would be fixed, the front desk said they were waiting on authorization from their manager to call the elevator company to repair it?!? We had to climb 3 flights of stairs with all of our luggage to check out. Just frustrating we paid a lot of money for such a bad experience.

Get a corporate rate at most HIExpress but not here for some reason. My company regularly works in the,area. Might try the other hotel located in front of this hotel next time

Very disappointed when I ventured down to breakfast and found that there were no cinnamon rolls!!! And not because they ran out - the GM forgot to order them!!! What?!?! That was the reason I chose to stay at Holiday Inn Express rather than another local hotel.
On a positive note - the staff was very friendly, and my room was clean and comfortable.
Nothing else in the immediate area other than Wendy's and Arby's - 4 miles into Lansing for food and nightlife.
