As there are five of us (two adults and three children), it is always difficult to find a room combination that works. I couldn't book online, as the system wouldn't allow three to a room, so called the hotel instead. They matched the on-line price, and said they could book us two adjacent rooms (inter-connecting had sold out), with an extra bed in one room. They even put a fridge in one room when I telephoned last minute as our son had been prescribed anti-biotics. Lovely staff in the breakfast room, and the breakfast offer was good too (children slightly disappointed that the pancake machine wasn't at this venue). Hotel rooms very clean, bed a little firm for me, but no late night noise from wedding parties to disturb our sleep. The only downside was that children are only allowed in the pool within the leisure complex i.e. not in the sauna, steam room or Jacuzzi. We can understand why the rule is there (although other HI with Spirit Clubs have no such restrictions), but it just took the gloss off our stay as the girls were less interested in family time down at the 'Club Motivation'.

We were fortunate to be upgraded to an executive room, so armchairs, sofa bath robes and large towels. The room was good but the bathroom sadly let it down. Rust around the bath taps, chrome worn away on soap dish, the filling on the join between bath and bathside was hanging out. The toilet did not flush properly.
But the staff were friendly and very helpful and the food both at dinner and breakfast was good so I would recommend the hotel. They just need to do some much need maintenance

This is the second time as a family we have stayed, both times to attend weddings. We had a horrendous journey so it was nice to be greeted with a smile, professionalism and all rooms perfect. On Saturday morning our family had not slept well in the family room and Lisa offered every alternative she could think of to us help us. We took an extra room and with a bit of shuffling all was well for second night. The breakfasts are second to none. The wedding breakfast was hosted at this hotel and it was just perfect -definitely supasses what we have been offered at weddings in Londone area. One more of family left to be married - we will see you again. Thank you for a lovely stay. Just one little niggle the man in the gym, swimming pool area could do with a happy pill in a morning - rather grumpy!

Easy to find and plenty of free car parking. We stayed 2 nights, eating in hotel restaurant on Saturday night. Good food and service, very enjoyable.
Our ground floor accessible room was quiet, just what we wanted...except room was not really wheelchair friendly. Nice wet-room setup but bathroom is just too narrow.
Would certainly recommend, staff are credit to the hotel.

Perhaps she should be in a different vocation than hospitality.
Small rooms, dated furniture. Needs totally refurbishing & restaffing.

Always a good venue! The hotel is better than the average Holiday Inn as the rooms seem a little better equipped and the grounds we'll cared. The car park arrangement can be a challenge if there are too many vehicles parked near the barrier, but this is a small issue. The staff are always pleasant and professional.
Breakfast is ok too, with good choice. I like the value for a weekend stay and will use this in the future
I would recommend this hotel for business or pleasure. Location near A1 is good and the room rates are reasonable

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for one night and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The Receptionist greeted us when we entered and was very helpful and efficient. The room was clean, the bed extremely comfortable. The general appearance of the hotel is excellent. We had our evening meal in the Restaurant which was extremely clean, the food was excellent. The waitress greeted us, took our order, had a general chat with us and served the food efficiently. We had breakfast the next morning and again the waitress was efficient and friendly. Everything seemed to run very smoothly. We could not fault our stay.
Thank you to all the staff for their pleasant manners and for making our stay so comfortable.

I'm originally from the village and have visited many times for functions, Sunday lunch and drinks etc but this was the first time as a guest. I moved away over 10 years ago and so was not recognised by any of the current staff.
We were overnighting en route to my daughters wedding, checked in late around 9pm and phoned ahead to get a table in the restaurant.
We had a meal from the 2 Dine for £29.99 menu and both starters and main courses were delicious. Same goes for the breakfasts, pre booked to save money.
From front of house, restaurant, to bar and housekeeping staff were all very attentive and helpful.
For the curious, I marked slightly down on cleanliness as we found a couple of hairs in the shower; otherwise the room and public areas were spotless. Fed back to reception and acted upon.
We didn't use the gym and facilities but will do next time - excellent added value.

I have commented on this hotel before and I continue to book here whenever possible. I stayed for 3 nights on this booking and have been rewarded with a fantastic reception team, Lisa is not only welcoming and efficient but more importantly, Lisa takes responsibility to ensure you enjoy your stay from check in to check out. The Restaurant food is fresh, hot and depending on your taste is value for money on a corporate rate. For me, the reception on arrival is wonderful after a days work, the rooms are clean, well presented and the pool and exercise facilities are a welcome bonus. Book in this hotel and be amazed at the welcome and service.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Doncaster as part of a corporate group for a company who have regular rooms booked there.
From the check-in, to bar and restaurant, the service was always poor because of the fact that we were on the company account.
All of my group commented on this.
I checked in with a young lady who barely looked at me as she sorted out the room card.
The room itself smelled damp and musty as soon as I walked in, and I quickly established that the smell came from the bathroom.
I went back to reception to report it and asked to be moved. The girl begrudgingly rang the hotel manager, who told her he was too busy to do anything about it or inspect the room. When the girl delivered that message to me, I think she expected me to just accept it and walk away, but I insisted on changing rooms. She told me that all she had left was a single room with a single bed, and if I wanted it I should go and collect my things.
10 minutes later, after dragging my stuff around half of the hotel, I was in a different room.
The room was small but adequate, albeit not smelly, and furnished to a basic level.
In the bar and restaurant later, it was apparent that as soon as members of staff realised we were on the company account, all the smiles switched off and service barely reached perfunctory.
The food was the saving grace, as it was actually quite good considering.
All in all, not a pleasant stay in any way, and I would certainly never be a paying guest there.

This is the third time I have had the pleasure of staying at holiday inn,Doncaster.Yet again,I really felt that I was looked after by the staff at this hotel.
From walking in and meeting the reception staff,to having my evening meal,the staff really could not do enough for you.
The room was well presented and clean.the bed was really comfortable and I had another really good nights sleep,waking up refreshed and ready for another day at work.

Me and my partner stayed her for my friends wedding reception and after a lovely night me and my partner rebooked for another weekend to relax and that is exactly what we got very clean staff are really friendly and warm welcoming. The food at breakfast is lovely and very well served we are certainly going to book again.

Recognition of IHG member status - everything waiting on our arrival.
Breakfast in the restaurant was superb.

We often have a need to break up a long journey with a stopover in the Leeds/Doncaster area. This is the first time we have used this property and it certainly wont be the last. We really could not fault the Holiday Inn or the staff. It is rare to stay in a hotel that rather than just accept guests with a dog but which actually welcomes them with open arms. We were surprised to find that the dog was even welcome in the bar!! Lovely.
The room was spotless and the breakfast was excellent.
We certainly will stay again and will make our stay a little longer to enjoy a lovely hotel with superb staff. Thank you.

I have been to this hotel several times and have always had a high regard for the hotel and staff. This time I received no recognition for being a Platinum member, though probably due to arriving late and being booked in by the night staff. As always the hotel was clean and well laid out. Good bedroom, and breakfast ok. Unfortunately breakfast does not start until 7am and the staff will comment if you're down early! Overall still a good accomodation and I would recommend this as a hotel to visit

Our stay was following the North of England Dalmatian Club Dalmatian of the Year event held in the hotel. Arrival and check in were efficient but friendly. Our room was clean and very suitable for our needs. Our dog was made welcome with only a very small supplement which was appreciated. She is used to staying in hotels and sleeps in a soft crate so we had no worries. We did protect the floor with a sheet and it was lovely that the room service staff thanked us for this as we left the room. We experienced a minor emergency in the early hours of the morning and the night desk manager was particularly helpful. He looked out for us the next morning to enquire if all was well - a very personalised service!! We enjoyed the event very much - the hotel seems an ideal venue. Our dinner dance was also a great success with a lovely meal being served to a large number of guests very efficiently. We hope our event will be held at the same hotel next year - we look forward to visiting again.

Would choose this hotel again if staying in the area.The staff were pleasant and helpful ,particularly the barman who was friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks on offer .We made use of the leisure facilities and the swimming pool was a welcome distraction after driving for almost five hours.The dining experience was exceptional...one of the best experienced in all Holiday Inns we have stayed.Our bed was huge and I must say extremely comfortable with the usual choice of firm or soft pillows.The only let down was regarding the cleanliness......there was hair in the bathroom plug outlet,which may have been an oversight as the rest of the room was of a high standard.

The hotel made us very welcome on arrival and also gave us an upgrade.The room was much larger than we expected ,very clean and tidy.The grounds are extensive,parking is easy ,the bar was very busy with a good crowd,breakfast also very good with very friendly staff and all locals.This place will be used again ,I wish there were more like this.

My wife and I stay here on a regular basis and in all honesty have yet to find a more all round professional team. The manager here is constantly monitoring his hotel and has only one aim and that is the complete satisfaction of the customer.
Very smooth easy stay.

We have stayed here 3 times and every time, we have had a lovely experience. We have a small dog with us and the staff are most helpful with recommending walks. They are incredibly friendly and make you feel very welcome with a kind and homely feel. The food is good value for money, well presented and very tasty. Breakfast caters for all tastes with a good selection of food.
For us, it's the staff who make the stay so memorable, their willingness to help you with anything you need and their cheery demeanour make this a wonderful hotel to stay at!

This hotel could not be better placed for ease of access from a major road. You could dispense with your SatNav to find it!
For those who know Holiday Inns, this one is no surprise. The ease of entry, such as parking and checking in, is straight-forward. This particular hotel has a curious layout and, depending on where your room is, it can be a bit of a pain finding your room.
The hotel, overall, is pleasant even if the rooms are a little dated in terms of decor. The bar has a certain amount of soul so it was nice to go into even being on one's own. I was most warmly welcomed into the restaurant by the staff and I found it very relaxing and pleasant overall. I would describe the food as okay. It was well presented but the quality would make JD Wetherspoon pround; not a foodie snob like me! But not bad!
The WiFi was shocking but it is supplied by a third party so I moaned at the third-party instead. It does annoy me that hotels try and farm off critical services (Internet access is now critical as is electricity!).
The breakfast was best described as naff. A typical self service with all the trimmings such as hard fried eggs, skin on the baked beans, bacon cooked by some alien method, tinned mushrooms microwaved? Who knows. It was shocking. But as I said, for those who know Holiday Inns, this is no surprise.
In short: Great location. Good atmosphere. Nothing wow. Shyte breakfast.

Was on a 4 day business trip this week and we stayed at your hotel. The property was nice and inviting and clean. The bar area was accommodating and comfortable. There was a really nice spread for breakfast in the dining room and a good selection of well prepared food for dinner. Front desk staff were very helpful and always looked nice and had a smile when they served you no matter what time of day or night. There is a really nice size gym and spa attached to the hotel as well. There were classes and a good size pool, steam room and sauna and all the other usual's you would find at a big gym. I really enjoyed my stay, the only thing that I had to disagree with was the cost of the internet. In todays society wifi should be a norm at a business hotel not just for the premier customers. It comes standard at most hotels all over Europe. I was recently in Morocco and we had it complimentary there. If people are away from home its a nice way to stay in touch. I had school work I needed to do and could not justlfy the cost. Besides that the hotel was great and I would recommend a stay to anyone. I look forward to coming back in February on my next trip in town.

great accomodation, we paid extra for an upgrade and it was worth it. the breakfast next morning was lovely, great choice buffet. unfortunately the evening entertainment for our christmas doo wasn't very good ( queen tribute band and disco) and i love queen. meal not that good either.

Had a great time. The hotel was comfortable, the spa relaxing, the staff helpful and it was SO quiet....my most important quality in a hotel. Loved the breakfast - only wish I could have eaten more of it. Will definitely pick again if I ever visit Doncaster, but will bear Holiday Inn in mind again because of this experience.

I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Doncaster many times over many years, and it has become a home away from home for me and my family. The staff are always pleasant and helpfull. Nothing is too much trouble.
The breakfast is excellent, using good quality products.
I have eaten in the restaurant on numerous occasions and have always enjoyed both the food and the wine.
The hotel is excellent value for money, I will be back again and again, to enjoy the excellent facillities but most importantly for the welcome and genuine friendliness of the staff.
