Service freundliuch, Gastronomie irrelevant.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by skene1973 Decent enough, but rude staff
As a Platinum member i always look to stay at the Brand where possible so i booked here for the Germany v Scotland game
I knew it was not in centre but its easy enough to get to
20 mins by u47 from main station
Check in went well with a friendly member of staff explaining everything to me
And thanked me for being a Platinum member and gave me a voucher for a free drink and snack at bar
On my way up to the room via the slowest lift in the world (why is it so slow?)
I was told by another guest that there was only Wheat beer left as all the beer had been drunk
Well thats what happens when the Tartan Army is in town
Maybe someone should of thought about that when they noticed the hotel selling out by people from Scotland
Anyway on our way out to game we decided to get our free drink at bar
A member of staff approached and said (or should i say snapped) "what do you want?"
Now maybe its just that her English was poor but it came across very rude
I asked what was available in the beer selection and she pointed to a tap with no name
Well that helps
I asked again what else is available then and again she snapped at me
I eventually just took 2 of what ever it was on tap
I handed over voucher and got charged for 1 beer
I asked should my guest not get his for free also as every hotel i have been to over last 10 years as always offered that
No was her blunt answer
Anyway the beer was the worst beer in Germany
On arrival at night after the game there were plenty thirsty Scots fans, but unfortunately not only does the bar close at 12 there was no cold drinks available at machine as it was broken
On check out i was not even asked if i enjoyed my stay or if everything was ok
And they could not advice about public transport apart from
"The Station is over there"
Well it would not take much to train them up on how to purchase tickets etc would it?
( tickets can be bought from machines at platform
For city centre zone it is A tickets you need to buy
For further out areas it goes up b,c,d etc,but zone maps are on station boards)
Oh breakfast was ok mind you
Overhall not the friendliest IHG property in Germany and i have been to
