Only wish would be that there was bigger tub or a pool. Room was clean, breakfast was average. Would stay here again. December 11, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No hot breakfast, downgraded room, poor service I booked a king suite online, and received a confirmation number. When I arrived, the staff unapologetically informed me that they had oversold king suites, and told me I would have to take a queen instead. Upon arriving in the room, there was no shampoo or conditioner. I had to go back to the front desk to get some. I normally book the king suite so I have space to work after I get back to the room. I tried to adjust the office chair, but it would not escalate. In the morning I went for breakfast. The breakfast warmer was broken, so the staff had food that was warmed sitting out in the warming tray, but now at room temperature. I advised the staff of the health risks associated with this, and they did not seem to care. Before departing for the day, I also informed them of the difficulties with the chair in the room. When I returned that night, they had done nothing with the chair, so I fixed it myself. The second morning there was no hot breakfast, the third morning they had open crock pots, once again keeping the food at a dangerous just-above-room temperature. I again informed them of the health risks involved with improper storage of food products. I was also not recognized at all for being an IHG member. Overall the quality of my stay was poor. I have stayed at the hotel before, and everything was great. I tried contacting IHG, who stated they would get back to me within 48 hours, they instead got back to me about 72 hours later, shortly after checking out, and advised me to discuss my issues with staff at the hotel. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great place. Could improve a couple of things to make for a better stay. Here are a couple of suggestions to improve the quality of stay in your hotel. (1) Repair the electronic locks located on both the south and north building doors - it's inconvenient to carry your luggage to these doors only to find that your entrance card won't work. These doors have been like this for many months (I stay here quite often). (2) Provide the Golf Channel on your cable network. Holiday Inn in both Edson and Whitecourt have recently added this service. It would be nice of Drayton Valley to provide the same. Add the additional cost to your rates - it would be worth it. Anytime I know that I am going to be working in the Drayton Valley area the first place I call for rooms is always the Drayton Valley Holiday Inn Express. The staff is always pleasant, efficient and helpful. The rooms are great. The beds are some of the best I have slept on. The only complaint I would have is in the parking area at the back of the hotel for the larger vehicles. There is a very large and deep dip that stretches all the way across the driveway, you have to go through it at an idle or it is to rough. Other than that I am very happy with the hotel.
