I lived in this hotel several times. Staff are friendly, bed is comfortable, room is clean. It is the top selection when I travel to this area.

This was my first visit to the HIE in Drayton Valley. I was very impressed with the check-in lobby, the eating area, and the room and it's amenities.

The hotel was nice inside, and the rooms were comfortable. Cleaning arrived very early while we were still getting ready for the day. When leaving, the front desk staff charged a rate that was almost 10% higher than was booked for online, and because we departed on a Saturday, all the staff would do was charge us the amount they decided on, with a false promise that management would call. Staff called our house phone number on Saturday at 9AM, and said management would call Sunday to resolve the issue. By Monday at 10AM no one had called, so we attempted to resolve the issue. Management could not be reached at the hotel, and the staff again insisted that management would call with information. Finally, we went further up and called the Intercontinental Hotels Group toll-free number on our original reservation today, Monday, with our complaint, which opened a case number that management was supposed to do. IHG still will not assure that our original booking price will be honoured.
Overall a decent hotel with careless and poorly trained staff that may not honour prices that were booked well ahead of time, through the online booking service.

I was travelling to my Auntie's Funeral and had my parents along with me. My parents are in their eighty's and Mom has mobility issues. The staff were excellent in helping us come to a solution to help my Mom. The room was very comfortable and we all had a wonderful rest during the night. The choices for breakfast were very good and helped us feel refreshed to continue on to the funeral service. Thank you!
