Other than the advantage of being near the airport, and a free shuttle bus service every 30 minutes, the hotel does not make a happy stay for us, a young couple.
First, we were not given the room that we booked for. We had reserved a Double Room with sofa bed via Booking.com. Instead, we were given a Twin Room without sofa bed, and there was only one towel inside the bath room, though the staff at the Reservation Counter knew there were two of us. The smoking smell was strong in this room too. We made a call to request for additional towel, but it never arrived until the next day. My partner had to use the hand towel after his shower instead.
Second, breakfast choice was poor. The only cooked food was hard boiled eggs, tomatoes and harsh brown. The rest are crossaunts, muffins and cereals.
If you are on a budget and only on a short stay, or just need a bed and breakfast near the airport without any expectation, then you can consider this hotel.

the hotel is very easily reachable from the airport and offers a free shuttle service every 30 min. a metro station is also nearby. therefore this hotel is very suitable for short stay guests.
the room was small but comfortable and clean. unfortunately the room was not tidied up after the first night as the cleaning service wanted to make our room up at 9:30 pm. which would be totally unacceptable if we would have stayed there longer.
the breakfast was very good and offered a wide variety of food and drinks to choose from.
internet access is available at a surcharge and the access time cannot be split over one day or more but has to be used up at once.
the staff was very helpful and forthcoming.
the atmosphere is very clean and impersonal which I find very appropriate for an airport hotel.

I have been staying in holiday inns across the world and this was the first and worst experience.
The front office staffs was not trained. They do not inform you on the timings of breakfast nor inform the facility of breakfast being provided. When I went late for the breakfast at 1015hrs the security and other staffs has breakfast and we were told it is closed at 0930hrs.
The bathrooms rooms were not provided with towels.
The consumables of the rooms like tea coffee and milk sachets were not refilled after they were used.
The only respite was that the restaurant services were good.
HI Dubai airport, It is time to pull up the socks and get going with the basics

I stayed in this hotel after spending a few days in another one of the same franchise in the same city, so my comparison is based on my experience during the same time era, city, brand, etc.
Staff friendliness is good, they are cordial as expected from a hotel staff, and within this specific brand; a guest's staff interaction is more or less confined to check-in/check-out, the fact that there is no room services in order for you to grade or whatnot, so that part was good.
My only take on this one is that while the building from outside and lobby looked good, my room didn't, it looked tired, it is time for a renovation i guess. and room cleanliness when i checked in was sub-par in some small detail, but usually those details are what throws people off!
I'm definitely going back there, only because i have to (weird enough; the location works for my trip purposes!).

Quite nice, neat and comfortable. No preferential treatment or recognition of Priority Club members. I had been there for 4 days before I received a call in my room to ask how I was doing and if I needed anything.
A particular staff called Salmon was very unfriendly and not helpful at all. Management should take note as I promised myself I must report this.
In all, my stay was pleasant and transportation into town was always made easy with a taxi available in front of the hotel at all times.

Myself and my 2 kids stayed at this hotel for 1 night and thought rooms were of a good standard and service was great too. I caught a taxi as I was a bit concerned regarding the reviews of the shuttle bus and this only cost AED 30.00 and took 2 mins. I was also offered a later check out which was compliementry which I thought was a nice touch. I would definately stay at this hotel again if just transiting through Dubai.

The cleaning staff does not do a very good job of cleaning and their supervisors must not check their work. Hair on the bathroom floor and trash underneath dressers. I would of taken pictures had I known that I could post them. Contractors coming and going to Afghanistan are now staying there, not as quite with them around.

I stayed in this hotel in June 2012 and now December 2012. The rooms are a bit small but the service and attention to detail is exemplary. The fact of the close proximity to the airport makes this a prime location for easy access to ones next flight. The restaraunt is highly maintained but the choices of meals are limited. The lounge is convenient and relaxing. All in all I will stay here again and again with this type of service.

The hotel is excellent but the restaurant service is atrocious. Every time I stay there and go for breakfast, there is no service, no staff around, if you ask for cold water no one responds and the worse of all the tables are all dirty and no one around to clean them. Everyone including me sat on dirty tables. I asked a staff walking by but in vain. And this is not the first time, it has happened to me. Every time I stay there it is the same story at the breakfast. But the stay at the hotel, the front desk staff are excellent.

I was greeted by the receptionist on duty and a trainee receptionist. They offered me a warm welcome. My room was clean and quiet. The location of the hotel was very good, with shuttle bus to DXB every thirty minutes. On checking out, every thing went well, until I ask if the shuttle bus take hotel guests to the departure level, as I have two heavy suitcases. Another receptionist overheard my question and interrupted the conversation, for some silly reason, he seems to be irritated by my simple question (which was NOT directed at him) he interrupted and told me that the shuttle bus only go to the arrival level. If I want to go to the departure, then I should get myself a taxi and pay for it. That person was not a trainee, but his attitude was most regrettable, especially every other staff at the hotel was helpful and welcoming.
However, when the shuttle bus driver saw me with two large suitcases, he took me to the departure level and even offer to get me a luggage cart. He saved the day, and restored my faith in Holiday Inn

This hotel has a great location. The room was clean and quiet, and the bar food we had was ok. The big problem was that there was no hot water and the bed was like sleeping on an ironing board. So, two of the most important elements for me personally were missing. My husband and I had a poor nights sleep - and as he said, it it a great place if you have a 4am flight because you'll definitely make it as you won't be able to sleep!

While the hotel is not for the purpose of a vacation type stay, rather as a way point, it serves the purpose for a one or two night stay.
The downside to this property is the "how to get there"! It is across from the terminal, you can see it, but driving there is complicated and there are no proper directions on the website. I live in Dubai and I spent 45 minutes going in circles. Once I got there it was no problem getting back. It is also difficult if you have to walk there.
Apart from this, all else average.

My flight into Dubai arrived around 1:30 am and I was through customs and leaving the airport with my bag at 2:10 am. I was tired so rather than waiting for the shuttle I decide to take a taxi. The taxi driver didn't know the hotel, so he called for directions. They tell him to go to terminal 3 and go inside the terminal. He drops me off at Terminal 3 and no one at the airport has a clue as to where this hotel is. One of the shops calls the hotel for me and puts me on with them. They tell me to go out the arrivals area to the third lane and the shuttle will be there right away. This is 2:47 am. At 3:10 am one of the valet employees calls the hotel for me and I speak with them and they tell me the shuttle will be there is 5 minutes. At 3:25 am I call yet again and they tell me the driver has just left the hotel for the airport and it will be 10-15 minutes. I am quite irate at this point. I am hot as you know what and exhausted. Finally at 3:43 the shuttle comes and the driver immediately goes to get himself a tea. At 3:47 we finally leave and go to the hotel finally arriving at 3:55. I get to the hotel and tell the manager on duty what has transpired and he calls the driver. The driver tells him he was stuck in traffic (traffic is done by 2 am in Dubai and the hotel is about 1 mile driving distance with only 2 stoplights). The manager tells me his driver wouldn't lie and that he will not do anything to appease me. Rather than continue arguing I go to bed determined to never give IC Hotels another dime of my money.

The hotel is a comfortable basic airport stopover facility with good friendly staff but is let down by the mediocre breakfast. I could not find much worth eating so decided to have tea and pastries but the pastries were so dry and stale that I could not eat them. Rather eat at one of the excellent cafes at the airport!

Unfortunately, it was my worst ever hotel stay in my life. I've stayed in room 148, it smells very bad and the night shift manager didn't accept my concern, nobody cleaned the room, and we had to spend the whole night with such disgusting room! This is going tobe my last stay in HIE. And I'll ask my company (GBM) to cancel the agreement with you.

I paid for extra person when making the booking . I phoned down to reception 3 times to get some bedding for the sleeper sofa and went down two times before we managed to get the bedding after arriving of a long flight and wanting to get some sleep this was not acceptable

My stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Dubai was good with the exception that I had to pay for shuttle service to the Airport at Terminal 1. Their policy is free shuttle to the Airport on the hour. When I checked out on 22 October 12 at 0240am I needed to catch the shuttle at 0300am and no shuttle took me to the airport and I had to pay 35 AED . So from my experience a free shuttle to the airport doesn't always happen.

this Holiday Inn Express near Dubai airport has good rooms and nothing to complain about breakfast.
Checking in was a long and unpleasant experience. The special desk for Priority Club members was not used and the 2 men in charge of checking in ignored us completely. It was 3 o'clock in the night after a long flight. The guy who finally checked us in had lost his voice, could not even say "hello". He was only very unfriendly!
Checking out was much better!
Next morning we asked for a taxi and the guy from the hotel who arranged this (and supposed to assist made a deal with a taxi ?) and overcharged us telling us an untrue story.
There are no taxi's near the hotel so you need the frontdesk..

The property was very close to the airport (15 to 20 dinars) and the staff were very friendly Filipinos. There was a queue or line when I arrived, no one was manning the expedited Ambassador Priority Club member check in, so the wait was longer than expected. Also, 'others' there kept trying to cut in line. Seems that there are no regs on cutting. You have to speak up for yourself. I did.
The room was Good to Pretty Good, plenty of pillows, and a clean bathroom etc (no tub, new shower). Limited TV channels, no movies. And I could not get the internet to work for me. I called and visited the front desk, they could not make it work either. My laptop and ipad work in other hotels in Dubai. I think it was their system. This was the only major con. Food was great. Place was really quiet, and folks were very friendly. Not much to do around this hotel, but the subway is nearby. And there are malls near as well. I would go there again if I had to pay for my stay.
