I spent the previous night at another Holiday Inn Express which was either newer or recently updated - - wow - - i learned next time to inquire on when the hotel was built because there was a huge difference. This hotel looks and feels old. I first got ticked at this hotel because when registering, the staff member forced me to get my license plate number. The previous nights hotel - also a holiday inn - did not require it. This hotel was booked because of an accident on the hwy so I had to park pretty far away, carrying three bags of luggage and dragging two kids (one newborn and one two year old) with me. What annoyed me is the staff member said he needed it because there were "some incidents previously." That implies to me that he didn't trust who I say was in my room was actually in my room. Like I was bringing more people to my room then stated. And the fact I had to drag that much luggage and my humanoids around to get the six letter # didn't help my mood. When we first got a room, it smelled like urine. Not in any way an overstatement. It smelled like stagnant and fermenting urine. We requested another room and were "upgraded" to a suite. The "suite" is a joke. I saw very little difference between the "okay" two bed room to the "fancy room" - - a $50 mini fridge and a $200 couch and a much bigger room, which felt empty because there was nothing to fill the bigger space. The only thing that stood out to me was the TV was much further away from the bed - because the room is twice as wide yet the tv is the same size as the other rooms, so we had to squint to see it. In the AM the breakfast was so so. Better at the last hotel (Also H.I.E.). As a last note, they didn't unlock the pool until we hunted down someone and asked - about an hour after the pool was to be open. April 6, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very cooperative staff The ONLY thing that was BAD about our stay at the Dublin, VA. Holiday Inn Express was the weather. We were informed that there was going to be fairly good snowfall, hail, ice and the roads may be in the form of a 'black ice' condition. The breakfast food selection was appealing, the staff and their service was great and we will definitely stop there in the future. A very nice quaint town with good dining restaurants. March 2, 2013

From the super friendly and accomodating voice on the other end of the phone line when booking from the road, to the very comfortable and clean room and accomodations, this was a 5-star experience. Also, being a Priority Club member, we were greeted with a goodie bag on arrival after driving all day. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. I arrived at 1am the first night from out of town, and was received and given a room quickly so I could get to sleep. My stay was quiet, comfortable, and uneventful. I was not at the building much, but the room was clean and quiet when I needed it. When I left, I accidentally forgot a pair of glasses in the bathroom, and I'd expected them to be lost. I called the front desk when I noticed (a day after I checked out) and the manager had them on her desk. I was able to have a work associate nearby pick them up with no trouble. Thanks for the excellent service generally, and for rescuing my glasses in particular. February 19, 2013

That seems like a small gesture, but to someone like me coming off a snowy, slick road to a smiling face and special care, it was a heart-warming experience!!!! The breakfast was very good. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by it was OK ... I was neither very happy or very upset about this stay. The staff was very friendly - especially the guy at the frontdesk during the overnight. However, my sink was clogged during most of my stay. I had to notify the frontdesk staff multiple times before it was resolved. I also found a dried up jalapeno pepper piece on the floor between the bed skirt and the bed platform. The room had a Priority Club offer sitting on the desk that (as far as I can tell) expired in 2011 (and this was the end of 2012). The facility was well maintained. The breakfast offered was more than adequate and I made good use of the provided fitness center. Unfortunately this hotel is out in the middle of nowhere. The Shoney's across the street is nice ... but make sure to visit Fatz' Café. January 2, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good Place to Stay But..... This HIE has been recently upgraded and the rooms are very appealing and spotless. The staff was superb. Comfortable beds and nice toiletries. There is a large variety of items (hot and cold) at breakfast but the food was sub par. The french toast was cold, the OJ (if that is what it was) was very watered down and tasteless. The pancakes came from a machine. The eggs were powdered. Also, the pool and sauna bottoms looked dirty and I would not go in them. Maybe they just looked dirty. This is a great place to stay if you don't care about swimming and aren't particular about breakfast. Good value for the price. December 10, 2012

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Need to fix the printer. As a business traveler the ability to print a boarding pass is important to me. I tried to do this when I stayed in October 2102 and found the lobby printer to be out of ink. When I asked at the front desk about this they said 'oh that has been out of ink for awhile but the manager hasn't got around to replacing it'. Unfortunately the manager doesn't understand the importance of the printer to business people. I won't being staying there again. October 24, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very friendly staff I had just came from the Holiday Inn Express in Knoxville Tenn and sorry but that place blew away the one in Dublin. I found the decor in the Dublin Holiday Inn needing some up dates in the room. My bed felt very worn so I moved over to the second bed in my room which was better. The lamps very outdated and the positioning of the fridge and microwave very tight. Being a woman and shorter it was very difficult to even reach the coffee pot to fill with water. The bottom of the bathtub looked very stained and I wanted to clean it myself just to prove it could definatly be turned white again. Room 105. October 13, 2012
