Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by FiberSmith Great location and room/public areas not so great
This property has tremendous potential. It is in a great area close to the airport. The rooms are well kept, modern and luxurious. The club floor is nice and the club facility well kept. The only negative during our stay was a "pack" of children running about playing and screaming at high volume in the public areas including the bar during the afternoon and evening. There appeared to be no supervision of these small ones at all. The staff seemed troubled and apologetic but made no attempt to intervene. We were told that this had been going on since noon on that day and was associated with a wedding at the hotel. It is difficult for me to recommend Crowne Plaza when such disruptions are tolerated. We noted a plaque in the lobby that said that well behaved children must be under supervision at all times. Apparently poorly behaved children are not subject to this rule!

We stopped on our way out of Ireland to be close to the airport and enjoy our last night in Ireland in a relaxing neighbor close to the airport. The stay here was relaxing and just what we wanted.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beatleskris BEST hotel on our trip to Europe
This hotel far exceeded our expectations. This was the nicest and largest room we had during our trip to Europe. This hotel far exceeded it's sister hotel next door..the Holiday Inn Express...where we stayed for one night upon arrival to Dublin. Our room was huge and had a separate bath and shower, a stocked refrigerator, two chairs and a table, a desk and a chair...ample storage...a view of the park. THE STAFF was superb. We were helped with our baggage. Business center was free to print boarding passes. JUST loved everything about this hotel.

I am in Dublin often for business and use the Crowne Plaza whenever I can.
The friendliness of the staff more than make up for the hassle of using the car park next door.
The bar has a great atmosphere and the menu choice are good and the portions ample.

OTHERWISE AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE.

The hotel itself is very good. A/C very clean, lovely room. However, staff very UN friendly, didn't help at all with a booking problem, even when my poor wife fell to pieces and cried at front desk. I was appalled at their treatment of us. For this reason I would not stay here again or re commend this hotel. Very shabby staff training obviously. This hotel let the wonderful city of Dublin down. Perhaps they should employ more people from Dublin, because the Irish people were lovely. My company use this hotel company in many different countries, shame they don't value that.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by rene55 two dissapointments
Overall a comfortable stay, however there were two annoying instances.
First: on our initial check in I was told that I could use the business launch because of my status, but when I entered the launch I was denied because I wasn't at the right room level. It seemed to be a miss communication between staff and management.
Second: our t.v. screen had an annoying interference. There were no technicians available at the time we checked into the room, but even during our two day stay the t.v. was never fixed. No excuse here.

The Crowne Plaza Northwood is a great hotel and up to the usual standards in other parts of the world I've stayed in. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Didn't eat in the restaurant but had a room service meal which was very good although I thought a little expensive.
Only downside to this hotel is that it's a long way from town and there are no places to eat around the area apart from the hotel. There is however a bus to town from the main road a few minutes walk from the door. If staying for a few days buy a Leap pass to making the bus travel easier. The buses are very regular and the trip takes 30 to 35 minutes to O'Connell Street.

I stay at the Crowne Royal Hotels when I travel. I know I'll be getting what I need and the best product for my money. I must have a fitness facility, and I know Crowne Royal will usually have one.

Charges were higher than expected but I don't do as much international travel as I used to. The staff were helpful but tried twice to bill me for a prepaid room? The facility was very nice with lots of amenities offered. I would very likely come back here should I return to Dublin.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ac_93 Such a nice hotel!
I stayed at this hotel for the Bank Holiday weekend with some of my family. From the minute we I walked in I could tell that the hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had booked two rooms under the same name and when checking in found that one room was on the first floor and the other on the third floor. I presumed that having booked the rooms under my name that they would have been next to each other or on the same floor. The receptionist was more than helpful and changed both rooms to being on the same floor, and all we had to wait was an extra half an hour which we had no problem with. While waiting for our rooms to be ready we went and had a drink in the Cinnabar. We found some of the drinks to be a bit expensive. However the bar was nicely laid out and the barman was very friendly. The food in the Cinnabar is extremely good and they have a wide variety to choose from. We ate there two of the nights we stayed in the hotel and ate in the Touzai Restaurant one the third night. The menu in this restaurant looks good but is extremely over priced! The night I was in here serviced was slow and there wasn't many people in it as it had only opened. After receiving our starters, it took a fair amount of time for our plates to be cleared. I began to think that the waiter had forgotten about us as we had been seated on the opposite side of where he could see us visibly. When our starters got cleared it wasn't long waiting for the main. I ordered steak and chips as my main thinking that I would get a well sized steak and a good portion of chips. I paid 28E for my steak in which the steak was small and I got four chips on the plate! I have paid less money for a bigger steak and a bigger portion of steak! I wasn't too happy about racking up a bill of nearly 40E for a starter and main course. In the Cinnabar I feel you defiantly get value for money as the portion sizes are big and the food is delicious. Our room was facing the front of the hotel and for most of the day and what seemed like the whole night we could hear the bus that goes to and from the airport running. It kept me awake most of the first night that we were there. On the last night of our stay we went and had drinks in the Cinnabar. I went to order my drink and i seen the barman serving me, let both the bottle and the glass fall into the ice. He changed the bottle of coke for a new one but still used the same glass. I had only realized after some time of finishing my drink that there was a large crack in the glass going down the whole length of the glass and a chip had gone from the rim. I didn't say anything to the barman as it had been awhile after that I had noticed. We had been sitting outside the bar having our drinks and glasses and bottles began to cover the table and no one had come out to clear them. At this time the bar had quietened down and they had some staff available to collect the glasses. The breakfast in the hotel was amazing! There was a lot of choice, however the cooked breakfast went cold quickly after you had sat down to eat.
The hotel is located in a nice area with a park just across the road. There is a bus stop just two minuets away that will bring you into the city center. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Crowne Plaza and would return again.

Very clean room with modern features and amenities. Fabulous space for an airport hotel. Beautiful location with a huge park across the street. Very dark curtains which ensured the perfect night's sleep. Was VERY pleased overall! Honestly wished we could have stayed another light. Not terribly far from Dublin proper, and was a very good value for the money.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Gorth Sehr angenehme Umgebung für ein Flughafenhotel

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by aggie68 Great bar food / bad sleep
Attended a wedding party with my husband and 2 children. We had a family room which was 2 double beds in a normal size room so a bit cramped. Pillows could have been a bit softer. They were quite flat and hard. Also the curtains did not close full so the light from outside was shining in all night and then the sun the next morning. Also, there was a continuous tapping sound in the ceiling in the bathroom. I don't know if it was pipes or something else but it actually sounded like someone knocking the whole time which was quite annoying during the night. Overall, we had a great time. We ate in the bar before attending the party later that night. The food is delicious and bar staff very friendly and efficient even though it was very busy.

A very comfortable and quiet room with good curtains to keep the room dark. Large shower seperate to the bath which is unusual in most hotlels. Staff service was friendly, fast, and very good. The hotel decor is modern and appealing.. We ate in the restaurant. Both had different meals. A real disappointment. The food was severely overcooked and unappetising. Ate in Cinnabar the following night. Lovely fillet of sea bass but served with a meagre dessert spoon sized piece of sweet potato and three asparagus spears. Asked and got a tad more potato. Quality was good but quantiry was definitely lacking. In contrast the breakfast is varied, well presented and plentiful. The meeting room facilities and service are very good.

For a hotel near a major international airport the ability to print boarding passes and get a meal are surely high on the list. I was only able to print my boarding passes after 40 minutes, 3 visits to the front desk, 2 emails sent to the hotel email that the front desk could not find and the =grudging involvements of a supervisor.
Tho our starter arrived timely and was tasty, we never got to our main course. It was never served and after repeated questions about when or if we would get our meal, we left, having watched a couple who arrived after us eat 3 courses and leave... The excuse given was that you had coach parties staying; true enough but they were eating a buffet and if you are incapable of handling both a coach party and general dining then you should close the restaurant.
