We had a pleasant stay but it was unpleasant to have to walk past smokers to get into the hotel and to have someone smoke next to us on the balcony during breakfast. we were told that we were in fact sitting in the smoking area, the only spot with a view of the sea. Bronwyn, the manager addressed our complain in a very professional and sincere manner and by the next morning there were no smoking sings on the door to the balcony however I did not see any signs around the doorways so it remains to be seen it the hotel will enforce no-smoking in those areas. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff were excellent however there were a few places were improvements could be made with regards to attention to detail in housekeeping.

Friendly and helpful staff
Great brek fast
My recommendation- have body lotion available in the bathrooms.

I arrived early in the morning at the hotel at about 9:30am and I was told that check in is 11:00am , mind you the staff that was on duty was very unfriendly, no smile , they were very cold, stuck in front of their PC as if they had glue in their shoes , I had a confirmation letter with me without check in or out times anyway I did not want to argue it as I could see that the staff on duty were not bothered and could advice me to leave my bags and come back later or tell me other options, I came back late and I was booked in a smoking room I went to reception and requested a room change and I was told they will only change me tomorrow morning. Breakfast time I went to check if the found a room and I was told they will tell me after 11am, breakfast was awful, I had to constantly call them to check if the room is available and ready , eventually I had to go and stand at reception then I got a room , I forgot my mink blanket and room 503 when I moved to 311 and only realised at the airport that I forgot my blanket ,I called the hotel and surprisingly the blanket was not seen or found,I am so shocked that Holiday Inn has dropped its standards to this low..what a waste of my money
