Exceptional reception staff very friendly room was great warm and comfortable. Breakfast ok but a little mass produced but excellent value for money as we weren't expecting breakfast so was a welcome surprise and we didn,t have to go and buy any. Great location for the royal yacht.

We had a great time at Holiday Inn Express, made very welcome.
Room 240 good, only complaint noise from lift when trying to sleep.
Can definately recommend hotel for value and friendliness, will use
anytime in Edinburgh as buses are frequent to Princes Street from
Ocean Terminal.

Very welcoming after a long journey with friendly and helpful staff - advice on local eateries and vouchers most welcome.
One or two things to improve:
Temperature control in bedroom - warmth from the heater/AC unit was hard to maintain and warmth associated with blower noise and draught annoying
My room had floodlights outside but the curtains allowed light around the edges. Never dark!
Breakfast is limited choice - fine if all the elements are there. Fresh fruit limited to apples when no bananas!
Wifi rather expensive for use in rooms

Excellent location for a weekend in Edinburgh. While not being able to walk out of Reception onto the Royal Mile or Princess Street the availability of parking at no extra cost and a simple bus ride to and from the front door main it ideal.
The fact Ocean Terminal is next door with it's shops and restaurants plus the Royal Yacht Britannia (if not already seen) and great restaurants a short walk away in Leith

We love to come to Edinburgh and stay here.The hotel is in a good location and near quite a busy road ,but once inside is very quiet with no traffic noise.There are regular buses into Edinburgh from right outside the hotel..The staff on reception are very helpful and friendly,the room was very clean and the breakfast was very acceptable.We are already planning our next stay here.

My partner, pet dog and I have recently stayed at the Edinburgh Waterfront Holiday Inn. I have stayed at many hotels throughout my life and have to say this was by far the best experience that I have had in terms of comfort and quality of service delivery. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to return to this venue and will certainly recommend it to friends and family.

Nice hotel, good location. Had a small problem with the first room allocated to us but the staff dealt with it immediately, put us in another room and gave us a round of complimentary drinks. Couldn't fault there response, would definately stay there again.

I recently had a double room for one night on the ground floor on a Saturday night. Even though there was a fair old crowd in the foyer area the check in staff were attentive, willing to help and able to think for themselves.
A quick check in and we also received a special offer because even though they're an IHG property they generally don't align with standard IHG Priority Club service. Comfortable bed and room was what you'd expect for that price rang. clean, neat and warm. Good central location near the port. Easy check out in the morning.
Breakfast quality was a bit ordinary, variety was fine though.
Good value and I'd stay again if in that part of town.

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years but sadly we won't be returning. On the positive side we were made most welcome by the staff. The free parking and the easy access to public transport is another plus. When we arrived at our room it was obvious it was made up for one. One bath towel, one hand towel and one teabag! The other towels in the room were in a plastic bag and were supposed to be white but instead were many shades of grey. The pillows were labelled as an option of "soft" and "firm". It should have been "hard" and "harder". I eventually ended up using no pillow at all as the quality was so poor. The bed linen was obviously clean but the brown stain marks on the underside of the cover on one side was extremely off putting and we had to turn the duvet. In the morning there was as much water coming out of the shower connection and running down the tiles as there was coming out of the showerhead. At breakfast the juice machine was turned off and jugs were placed at the side. Had to ask for water, no mugs for coffee, cornflake bowl empty, no hot food and when they did bring out hot sausages there were only enough for four people. No warm rolls and then again when they were replenished they only brought out six. A very poor breakfast service, they would be better doing room only. The staff had cleaned the room but everything appeared to be tired and past its best. A posh television and a hairdryer does not make up for quality linen and a good nights sleep.

We had a great time at this HIE. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable. We would recommend othrs to stay. The Wifi is still a let down for me. The 6 hrs a day free connection was soooo sloooow. I still find it strange that they do not have free quality Wifi. All the hotels in the USA have it.

Thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay (family of 4). Chose this hotel because there was parking. Right beside big shopping mall which also has a number of restaurants. Used Public transport to reach Edinburgh castle and very easy as buses plentiful and information from hotel accurate - buses stop right outside hotel. Breakfast was great in the morning with all the basics. Would not hesitate to say again.

I have stayed in many Holiday Inns and without a doubt the staff I came into contact with at this hotel were the best I have encountered, very helpfull, very efficient and best of all truly friendly.
The hotel is well placed to visit Edinburgh, just a short bus ride from right outside the hotel.
The hotel is quiet at night, the rooms are reasonably spacious and very clean as is the hotel.
Plenty of free parking which is a bonus.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and as usual everything was spot on. The staff are very professional and friendly from the chambermaids to the management. A bonus is the free parking either in the hotel or in the shopping centre opposite, we would certainly recommend a stay here.

Good hotel with free parking. Bus stop at entrance to hotel with very frequent service in to Edinburgh city centre as parking impossible in the city centre. Good choice of breakfast and room clean and comfortable.

We were very pleased with our room , booked at short notice.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming which was much appreciated as we arrived in the midst of snow and sleet. Parking was convenient and included. The breakfast varied and enjoyable ,including a hot buffet -excellent all round.

Good hotel ,always willing to recommend it, room a bit small this visit and wondered if it was because we had pets with us. Breakfast hearty as per usual , a great place to explore the Waterfront and buses galore outside the door. Free parking is certainly a bonus in Edinburgh

We booked this as price was 'special offer'.
Hotel mid January was quiet so was it because we booked 'special offer' room price that our room was near lift and our only window was looking out onto a brick wall!!!!!!!1
We have stayed here several times before for convenience of hotel location for bus links and was disappointed at brick wall as hotel next morning at breakfast was fairly empty. Could have complained but what is point as staff had plenty of rooms for us to have.
On same floor as young kids who were using corridor as running track and playground. Kids eh!
Overall disappointed but will return as usual.
