As usual we had a very good experience in Holiday Inn. This was the first time we stayed in the Picardy Hotel and it is good to be welcomed by staff who smile and are interested in you.
A quiet room was provided as requested.
We were slighly disappointed with the breakfast as the menu on the table listed a large range of breakfast items but when we went to the serving area the only fruit available was grapefruit and the yogurts were in very short supply. The second morning was no better.
Dispite this, we enjoyed our stay and will stay again if the price is right.

the rooms do not have a/c and they say it is because it is a listed buiding but they can hide the units on the roof

this is my first time staying but certainly wont be the last,room quiet, warm and comfortable. We traveled to Edinburgh by bus the hotel is just a few minutes walk away, Princess Street is 2 minutes walk. breakfast was good,but if you want a cooked breakfast the choice was poor.

We are a family from India - parents and two grown up kids. We were visiting Edinburgh for probably the only time in our lives. Had read so much about the beautiful city and the Scottish highlands. We wanted a hotel centrally located, within our budget, clean, comfortable and a joy to come back after a hectic day of sightseeing. We got all that and more. Holiday Inn Express at Picardy Place is perfect. We had a great holiday and brought back lovely memories. Thank you all.

Good hotel near to transport facilities and all eating places. Within walking distance to the many sights of Edinburgh.

breakfast was by far the worst of any Holiday Inn Express or other similar hotels. Eggs were not fresh as the fruit. No pastry. tables were not clelaned and the TV was as loud as could be.
Also in the room, ;no soap only a dispenser which is not hygenic as one has to squeeze the container to get soal. the next person gets to catch what ever the previous uses has.
