When I booked this hotel from internet, it said that I could park the car with x per 24 hours. After I arrived at the hotel, I found the car park was very very small and there was not free slot for me. The staff at the front desk asked me to park at the public car part at the opposite mall. He told me the fee was just y per 24 hours and the hotel would reimburse me the difference when I show them the car park receipt. In fact, I paid z for 36 hours mall parking. When I brought the receipt to the front desk, another staff refused to reimburse the parking fee. She told me that the reimbursement must be done before I pay to the mall.

This is a handy little hotel with good size rooms and friendly staff.
Beware there is no a/c. A fan is supplied but it is noisy. Our room was very hot. To open the window you have to sign a disclaimer and as we were facing the main road it would have been very noisy.
The bed was okay but is only a double. The mattress was adequate, had better.
Breakfast was crowded but better when we found the overflow downstairs. Food quality was excellent and you have a tray to take the food back to your room.

I stay in many HI Expresses all over the country and this isnt up to the usual standard.
Location is perfect, £20 for parking is fine for location. Staff were great.
The breakfast room was very disorganised, cereals and juices on the bar, no canned grapefruit, yogurt choice was only natural.
Biggest issue was room. We were on 4th floor over the front. No aircon so we had a choice, windows open = too much noise (Edinburgh club scene goes on beyond 5am, even on a Sunday) = NO SLEEP or, window close= excessive heat = NO SLEEP.
I complained about this in the morning to reception and they agreed and the only comfort was that aparently, Floor 6 is like an oven. They said that the problem is well acknowledge and next time they said, request a low floor on the back.
