The hotel was clean, updated and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast staff was extremely polite and kind. The cleaning staff always said hello and did a great job in our rooms. I'd return here again in the future. Was pleasantly surprised!

We checked in to the West Atlantic City Holiday Inn on Saturday, June 20 for a weekend at the beach with my parents, who booked the room across the hall.
Around 3AM I woke up to the sound of rushing water so heavy my first thought was that someone was showering in our bathroom. Unfortunately, and quite disgustingly, the water raining on our heads in the bathroom and by the closet was not from a shower but from an overflowing toilet upstairs.
So at 3:30AM on Fathers's Day morning, we had to pack up our belongings and sleeping children and move to another room.
This incident ruined our Father's Day weekend. I wrote to firstname.lastname@example.org and have received no response. Needless to say, this is unacceptable. Make it right, Holiday Inn.

The room and hotel were very unclean. Stains on carpeting and walls. Sink did not drain. Toilet leaking all over the floor. Walls were paper thin. Carpeting was never vacuumed. Black markings on sheets. Breakfast food was not "food". Overall bad experience, and will not stay again.

As I walked out in the morning, workers were painting the lines on the parking lot. The wind was blowing and they were using spray paint. Big issue for me was that my car was the first car near by. There were plenty other places they could have gone where there were no cars. I could clearly hear the person in the room next to me. When he was on his phone I could hear his conversation. Overall feel of the hotel was not welcoming. Rooms had a well worn feeling.

It was a terrible experience and I won't stay there again.
As I mentioned earlier the refusal to issue a credit to me because my three night stay was reduced to two was completely unacceptable.
I travel a great deal and anytime I need to reduce my nights the hotel complies.

We stayed at this hotel after a wedding. We had the option of driving home or staying overnight, and chose to stay overnight so we could get a good nights rest since my parents were watching our baby for us. This hotel is far past its prime. The outside of the property was rundown and looked abandoned. Inside, the public areas seemed like an afterthought and the desk was hard to find. The staff was perfectly friendly when checking us in, which was the only positive of our stay. When we got to our room, we found a run down hotel room with broken outlets, paint that was darker in some places than in others, perhaps from fixing a patch in the wall? The shower head was rusty and worn looking, and the room as a whole needed updating. The part that ruined our stay, however, was the doors. Anytime a guest went in or out of their room, the door would slam as they didn't have a closing mechanism on them. These slamming doors were so loud that we were continuously woken up, even though we were wearing earplugs. So much for a good nights rest. Definitely a waste of our reward points. We travel a ton, and have stayed in a lot of holiday inn expresses as well as other ihg properties, and I have never been so disappointed by a stay in a hotel. The door situation is unacceptable and makes this hotel a terrible choice.
