Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by complimentary extras We enjoy coming to Holiday Express in El Dorado Hills three or four times a year. It is our favorite get-away destination. We love being able to walk to restaurants, coffee shops and the movie theater. We also like being close to Apple Hill, Placerville and the Indian casino. The staff at the hotel are always friendly and very accommodating. Everything is always clean and well kept. The place is very well managed. May 5, 2013

We also liked that we did not have a maid knocking on our door to see if we were ready to leave each morning. We expected a suite but instead received a standard room. It was OK. April 26, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Housekeeping Issue I had a very upsetting experience on Sunday morning prior to checking out of the hotel. Check-out time was noon. At 9:30 a.m. I went to the lobby for breakfast. I left my overnight make-up travel luggage in the bathroom along with all of my personal items so that I could brush my teeth, use the bathroom, etc. prior to traveling home. I didn't return to my room until around 11:00 a.m. as I was visiting with family in the lobby. I was extremely astonished to open the door, discover that my personal items had been removed and that the room had been cleaned. I am a senior citizen and throughout my working years I frequently traveled. Never in my life did housekeeping ever touch my personal items. My toiletries, jewelry, make-up, medication, etc. had all been packed up. Housekeeping has no business touching a guest's personal items when cleaning the room. Also, housekeeping had no business going into the room prior to check-out time. I called the front desk and fortunately my luggage was there. The staff at the front desk did not share my concern about what happened. Fortunately, nothing was missing from my luggage. I am a Priority Club member and when I travel I generally stay at a Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express. My experience has always been positive. This incident should not have happened. I hope that someone in management reads this review. Measures need to be taken so that this does not happen to another guest. April 6, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Welcomed Surprise From the time we first entered the facility to the time we departed, my wife and I were impressed with our contact with the staff - they were visible, appropriately engaging, personable, welcoming and helpful. The facility itself was in very good condition - it was clean, up to date and well maintained. We were left with the impression that both the staff and local management were well in tune with each other and with their clientele - putting them first and foremost. I can honestly say that all of our expectations were met and in most instances exceeded. Having traveled many times during my career; I/we know the difference. It was readily apparent all the staff that we came in contact with knew that they were in the hospitality business. March 15, 2013
