Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BHQ1651 Best place in the area
The only reason I did not give all 5 stars, I stay at another Holiday Inn Exp and they charge me the same amount but I almost always get an up graded room. Every time I stay in El Dorado KS I get one of the cheapest rooms available for the same price. Also the Breakfast in West Plains always includes Omelets (Maybe this Motel has them on another day) They are much better than scrambled eggs. Of course you can't please everyone and I am sure some people prefer the scrambled eggs. So no points held back for that. Rooms are always clean, staff is always friendly. If you are considering this motel I would say it should be a good choice.

I found the staff to be friendly, efficient and well-trained. The property is new, clean and well-maintained.
Value for the price paid is superb.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mommooska Would definitely stay here again
The location is great. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room comfortable and clean. Though I bring most of my breakfast needs with me, there always seemed to be a great variety on the breakfast bar and plenty of seating.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jim18 Rude Desk Clerk and other Preventable Problems...
In my quest to stay at every IHG property in KS (only a handful left), I stayed at this property for the first time. I checked in about 6:30 and the front desk clerk was not there so I waited a few minutes for him to show up. I asked for an upgrade since I am a Platimum member of Priority Club Rewards and he told me I was given one. I went up to the room and the key card didn't work in the lock so I had to go back down from the 3rd floor and have him redo it. I went back up to the room and got in only to find a small room with no microwave or fridge or even a sitting area. When I went back down to ask him about why I wasn't given the upgrade that he said I received, he said that is an upgrade--from a single bed to a double bed room. I told him that I have never considered or been offered that as an upgrade. Then I asked if I could at least have a refridgerator for my water and snacks, he told be that it would be a $10.00 charge. I said I have never been charged a fee for a refridgerator at any hotel I have stayed at and definitely not one where I am a rewards member. He said it is policy and that there is nothing he can do about it. I told him to go ahead and send on up and I would talk to the manager in the morning about the fee. He seemed ticked off and rudely brought one up to the room. Then later I went down to the workout room and the key card would not work in the door so I had to go back to the desk and have him let me in there. I then went to the business center to print some documents and the copier had no paper in it so I had to go back to the desk and ask him for that. I was credited the refridgerator charge the next morning by the front desk staff but by then it really didn't seem like a perk for being a Platinum member since I had to argue about it the previous night. I will never stay at this hotel again...it would be worth it for me to drive a little further and get a much better room and be treated better by the properties in Wichita, KS.

The accommodations were less than expected at a Holiday Inn Express. The outside appeared to be up to snuff, but the room was lacking. The furniture was dated, and rather old. The Television was old enough to vote in most states, and the remote was broken. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Emporia KS. on our way to Texas, and wished we had returned there. Much nicer, and almost 19.00 less money. I have been staying in Holiday Inn Expresses for over 24 years, and quite frankly, expected more.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Terrynrogersville Glad that Holiday Inn at McPherson is so bad
If it were not for the poor service dirty rooms poorly operating TV and over all unclean feel of the whole property, I may not have found what a wonderful property there is in El Dorado. I was not at all happy with the attitude, service or the poor quality of the food area when I stayed in McPherson. After driving to El Dorado I found that I could change the way I ran my route and I could stay in the lap of luxury. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and the food area is top shelf. It is like they are two different brands of motel. I am so glad i found this location.

Comfortable beds, clean rooms and public areas. Lighting is not the best but everything else is good.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Apbarron Bed was comfortable but a little tall for someone on a wheel chair as me.
The mirror inside the restroom was to high along with the sink for someone on a wheel chair (unable to see onself due to the height)
