Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to HIE standards Breakfast is standard HIE fare, but ran out of fruit before the serving period was over and didn't seem interested in restocking. Cost more than better HIE locations. Some HIE locations are so good, this is not one of them. Room itself was well serviced and clean. I'll not return. April 17, 2013

The location is good, rooms are comfortable, showers are good. Every staff person I have met has been friendly and helpful. March 12, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by security i had a cooler stolen out of the back of my truck. the truck next to me had a 2013 Suziki 450 dirt bike stolen out of his truck. cable was cut, truck was sitting on side of parking lot in a lite area. truck was backed up to the pool fence. motel camera was on the truck, but only activated where the motel door was opened. owner of motel was helpful in reviewing films. i asked about security of the motel upon check-in, reply was "never had any problems". guess that has changed now February 28, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Quality improvement needed at this hotel... I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Elizabeth City, NC and it has really gone down a bit. It was not horrible, but the toilet water was yellow and did not want to flush without holding the handle every time. There was no refrigerator in the room. Twice when I was at the front desk, there was an argument with some other lady about no refrigerator and I had to stand there for a while both times (patiently of course).  There was no desk to work at in the room. The pillows were beat up and very old. The phone did not work, I could not call the front desk without using my work cell. And they do not have homemade cookies when you come in, they are hard, dry, cheap ones. January 4, 2013

The rooms are clean and comfortable. It is easy to realy relax in this atmosphere. Thank you to everybody at this location making your Hotel a home away from home. November 22, 2012
