I have been an Priority Club member for many years and have never experienced anything like I did during breakfast at this Hotel. I have family in this area and have stayed here twice. Besides being an older renovated hotel it seems like a nice property. During this stay I observed something at breakfast that I thought was worth mentioning here. I went to breakfast a tad before 0900 and had the whole place to myself and there were only two omelets left so I took one got the rest of my food and sat down to eat. Two other couples arrived within minutes and asked the hostess if there were to be any eggs. Her reply was, "there were, but I don't put no food out after 9 because we close at 930". In my estimation it was probably 0903 at that time. Once the two couples made do with what was left and sat down the hostess proceeded to start packing up and taking all the food away and removing everything from the tables. The desk clerk ended up coming along behind her to provide jams and jellys and other condiments that she already put away. I was completely finished with breakfast and back in my room by 0934, so I don't know what clock she was using. The desk clerk (I think her name was Mary) was visibly made uncomfortable by the actions of this Hostess. She is the worst I have ever encountered at any IHG property and she made all of us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I was surprised she did not unplug the juice machine when someone was trying to use it. At least she made her 0930 cutoff. As she was not wearing a name tag (I assume purposefully), I can only describe her as I did not want to make Ms. Mary any more uncomfortable by asking for her name. She was an African-American female with a tatoo on her neck and as I stated previously no name tag. I wish I had not had to witness this antithesis of customer service.

This is the second time staying at this hotel and I plan to stay again when visiting my family in town. When you walk in Mary on the desk begins your stay with down home service. If you have stayed at the hotel in the past she remembers you and tries her best to make you at home. The staff in the hotel maintenance and house keeping could work at any big hotel in a major city, they all are about good down home service. The hotel is very clean, rooms are well prepared for guests, and the breakfast area has a good selection of hot and cold meals for breakfast.
With all the many hotel chains in Elizabeth City, NC there is no doubt in my mind that I have found a keeper. I can't wait to return for that down home service that Mary and her staff provides to their quests.

Every time I stay at this Hotel, I feel like I am a part of their family.
The entire staff is "AWESOME" Rooms are always clean and very comfortable.

I have been travelling to Elizabeth City for over a year now on different occasions, and different times of the year. I have to say by far this hotel has a 5 star from me, especially when customer service is involved. I had to stay at one of the other hotels in the area because this hotel was completely booked. The experience I had at the other hotel was NOT good. So from now on everytime I travel to Elizabeth City, I will be staying at this hotel. Thank you very much for the exceptional service that I have once again received. See you guys again in November.
