Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A comfortable place to stay The staff was friendly and helpful. My room was extremely clean and comfortable, and the hotel was generally very tidy considering it was a high-traffic weekend (the Dirty Kanza Bike Race). The race brought a lot of hallway noise, but it wasn't unacceptable. The hotel offers ample parking and is well located for access to I-35, the Turnpike, stores, and restaurants (though I wouldn't recommend walking to stores and restaurants). I was in town for a writing conference and felt that the group rate was very fair. (I think the regular rate is a little high for the offerings and the location, especially if the guest isn't needing the pool or doesn't take advantage of breakfast.) Ultimately, I need a place to relax and get a decent night's sleep between intense conference events, and the Holiday Inn Express provided that. I would choose to stay there again. June 7, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient Location Makes Your Trip Easy The Emporia Holiday Inn Express is conveniently located to all my favorite restaurants, which made the trip enjoyable for me and my family. Walmart and Staples are places I shop frequently, and they are also very close. We had a busy schedule and did not have time to enjoy all the amenities during our recent trip, but we have stayed at this Holiday Inn before and the pool was nice. The breakfast bar was good if you like continental breakfast. The cold items for breakfast were very good, and the selection was excellent. The hot food is okay, but the yogurt, cereal and muffins were favorites. Our family likes to stay at more up-scale resort properties, but this is a great place to stay if your purpose is business. Best part--you can walk to Montana Mike's for a great steak dinner and drinks! June 5, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good but..... need recycling bins especially for the newspapers! There were lots of copies of the free newspaper that had been read and tossed in the trash. I know Emporia has recycling services. Please make that available to guests (plastic and aluminum too please). May 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Front Desk Staff As soon as we walked into the hotel, we felt welcomed and the front desk clerk could not have been more helpful, even offering to help us with our luggage. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked into our room and found it to be a king suite. The room was very clean and the beds/pillows very comfortable. We'll definitely be back again. May 5, 2013
