This Emporia Holiday Inn Express is a favorite stop. We have
stayed often and will return. The lobby is beautiful and the
rooms are immaculate and very comfortable.
We look forward to breakfast and Petra who has been working there for three years makes sure she gets to work by five and has fresh coffee and breakfast by six . Petra keeps the entire area neat and clean.
We will return as often as possible

just wanted to say we checked in on April the 4th I had made the reservation at the wrong site ( even though we have stayed in emporia many times) it was late and the desk personel were fantastic esp Carrie as she canceled my other reservation made sure I got my points back and I would nit be charged she was fantastic

You cannot pick a better place to stop, it's clean, the staff from the room cleaners to the breaffast staff are great. Best of all you feel safe while your in your room & have no worries about your car parked in the lot.

Room and beds large. Sitting area with mini frig and microwave-OK.
Spa - small, green tinged, cold, not working.
Pool - small, ice cold, green tinge.
Choose facility because of avail. spa and pool. Very disappointing.
Breakfast - many choices. choices of fruits, breads, drinks, hot and cold foods.
Also went to HI in Florence, SC.
Their pool and spa larger and working, hot spa, heated pool working, both has clear clean water.

I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM ORLANDO TO NEW YORK AND THIS HOTEL WAS A VERY PLEASANT SURPRISE. THIS IS PROBABLY THE NICEST HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS I EVER STAYED IN. THE ROOM WAS VERY SPACIOUS, CLEAN AND VERY COMFORTABLE. THE BREAKFAST WAS TYPICAL HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS, BUT THE WOMEN ASSIGNED TO THE BREAKFAST AREA WAS EXCEPTIONALLY ACCOMMODATING. THE LOCATION IS RIGHT OFF OF 95 IN A VERY NICE AREA WITH PLENTY OF AVAILABLE PARKING. IT SEEMS TO BE ONE OF THE NEWER HOTELS BY HOLIDAY INN. THE HOTEL IS A REAL BARGIN. YOU FELT LIKE YOU WERE IN A HOTEL AND NOT AN EXPRESS. I WOULD POSITIVELY STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

female at desk was very unfriendly. 3/23/2013. She acted like I was interupting what ever she was doing in the back room. On the oposite side of the scale the lady in the breakfast room was extremely pleasant.

we were greeted with a friendly smile and a warm reception as we walked up to the reception desk. Our reservations were ready with no hiccups and we were able to get to our rooms pronto.The rooms were sizable with comfortable beds and the temp was adjustable.The breakfast was ready at 6.30 am and we were able to be on our way by 7.I would highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a clean and relaxing place to stay.

Every year we schedule our stopping point at this motel during our travels. The staff are very friendly to make sure we have everything we need. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated. We even get breakfast before heading out on the road.

Nice hotel. Staff were all very nice. Only issue was that this hotel was very poorly insulated. I had to turn the heat up to 78 degrees F just to keep the room termperature at 73!

The Emporia, VA Holiday Inn Express is one of the best maintained and cleanest motels we have stayed in.
The staff, from the lady who checked us in, to the folks who maintain the breakfast area, went out of their way to be courteous and cordial. They smiled, and meant it.
We'll be back.

We were received as a Club Member rigfht away. The gal at the desk was very personable and obliging. Our room wasn't quite ready but she searched and found another one for us. After having driven for 7 hours we were ready to relax in our room.The lady in the the dining room early in the morning was very pleasant and just had everything running really smooth. She is very neat and clean not only herself but also took pride in taking care of the counters and keeping the food replinished. Very nice stay.

Enjoyed stopping in Emporia and staying at the Holiday Inn Express. As always wonderful dealing with the staff and they were ever so helpful. Breakfast was good as well and a good selection to choose from. Recommend to anyone.

We used to stop at this location several times a year as we traveled along 95. The location was a convenient stop after a long day of travel. We had two previous stays that the customer service was terrible. We decided to try again on our latest trip. Big mistake. Although the rooms are clean and the breakfast lady was excellent the rest of the staff was poorly trained. I guess being a platinum member has no value.

This hotel has been a regular stop for us over the past 7 years. Recently we had personal business just over the line in North Carolina. Knowing how friendly and accommodating the staff is, along with the comfort, we had no problem driving the extra 12 miles for our 5 night stay. Important to me, they always recognize PC members. My wife and I always feel at home here.

The floor was not vacuumed properly as we found many "things" on it. The vent in the room was dirty and the bathroom sink was old and in need of replacement. This property although it looks new is getting old and tired.

After driving 12 hours home from Florida, we stopped for the night in Emporia. It is a little older property but wonderfully clean and well maintained. The front desk promptly greeted us and thankfully, had a room. Our HI affiliation was noted and we even received a welcome gift- in spite of not having a reservation. A list of local restaurants AND directions was provided. The only small flaw was that the spa was broken and ice cold. However, the shower was heavenly. We would gladly return to Emporia again!
