This hotel is badly in need of some updating. The couches/sofa beds had numerous rips in the material, the carpet was dirty in our room. The beds could use some updating as well.

front desk ignorant, young and didn't care
we did not get check-in gift for Gold membership
the eggs at breakfast were overcooked and the pastry was stale

There is not enough parking close to the motel, the carpet in the room was spotted and dirty and wasn't cleaned while we were there. There is a water park attached to this motel so beware if you are not there for that reason.

We recently had stayed here one night on what was our only family time planned for this summer. Upon entering our room, one of the TV's did not work, the other TV did not have batteries in the remote and two of our lights were not working. ALSO, there was a TERRIBLE smell, almost like someone had left fish to rotten in the room for weeks in the heat...it was horrible none of us got any sleep the first night and we demanded it be checked and cleaned and they still could not handle the problem successfully. Fortunately we got our money back for what was supposed to be our second night, we will not be staying here EVER again!

Hotel no longer carries Root sports even though still on channel menu which upset the men in the trip . Lamp broke , refrig would not close got immediate attention on repairs but it takes away time from your trip when you have to call about repairs they should of taken care of especially as this hotel is not cheap . stayed 3 nights nice to go to splash lagoon without going outside but overpriced . Next time will try one of the other attached hotels to splash lagoon that offers roots sport . The toilet paper was not replace daily & had to go to the front desk , did not replace the sample shampoo everyday & kleenex empty.

THE FRONT DESK, HOUSEKEEPING AND BREAKFAST STAFF WERE KIND, SMILED AND ACKNOWLEDGED US. SOMETIMES JUST AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT BY A MEMBER OF THE STAFF GOES A LONG WAY. WE FELT WE RECEIVED PLENTY OF VALUE FOR THE MONEY WE SPENT. SPLASH LAGOON MAKES THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE EVEN BETTER. OUR GRANDSON LOVES TO STAY IN HOTELS. WE FELT SAFE LETTING HIM GO BACK AND FORTH FROM THE ROOM TO SPLASH LAGOON BY HIMSELF. WE ARE A RETURNING GUEST. THANK YOU

Our one night stay passing through was enjoyable. The location is great off of I-90. A lot of restaurant choices in the area. Had a great breakfast before we continued on our journey.

Highly recommend this particular Hotel if visiting Splash Lagoon. Our two grandsons loved the entire trip. We will definitely repeat this mini-vacation the future. So much nicer to walk a few steps to the elevator (if room isn't on the first floor), & walk directly into Splash Lagoon.

Well prepared to assist with getting around Erie. Disappointed that there was not a pool on site. There was access to pool at other nearby hotels. Only one guest washer and dryer for a large family oriented hotel.

I have been Platinum Elite for years so i know when I have poor service.
An hour before I checked in the front desk called to let me know the card on file was expired. Which I was pleased with. But when I got to the hotel the front desk told me they didn't have to call and she should have sold my room. I explained that I would have been very upset if she had done that. If I were behind the desk I would never tell a guest I was going to sell their room. I made this reservation a week in advance!!! IT IS NOT MY FAULT THE FRONT DESK WAITED UNTIL THE LAST POSSIBLE MOMENT TO LOOK AT MY RESERVATION!!! I stay in hotels 300+ nights a year and being a Platinum member I am not in the habit of not showing up for reservations.
At check-in both girls were very unhelpful!! Nether knew where any local attractions were. I spent what seemed like an obscene amount of time trying to pay my bill. She could not figure out I wanted to pay for the entire stay!!!! I had to tell her many times I want to pay for it all and still she rang it up 3 different ways!!!!!! I was not offered any sort of welcome gift or recognized as a Platinum member. I had to ask if I get a free drink and I was told (very coldly) "We are all out of that stuff, just take a drink from the snack area".
The cleaning staff is incompetent. I told the maid i wanted new sheets and still she asked me repeatedly if I wanted sheets and a comforter.
The breakfast area was over-crowded every morning. Obviously, if the hotel is sold out then they should schedule more staff. The breakfast staff was unprepared and often out of food.
I asked for a late checkout. I was told there is "No way" I was getting a late checkout. I told her i was going to call Priority Club and she told me "go ahead". She did nothing to try to resolve my issue.
This stay has convinced me that the Holiday Inn Express chain does not hire or seem to train its staff well. Since I have used mostly all of my points I will make every effort to never stay at a Holiday Inn again!!!

Hotel was good only complaints, the washroom had funny smell to it. Also front room door rubs on carpet and has left black mark on carpet very noticeable and should be fixed.

We have stayed at this Holiday Inn Express before and liked ii very much. We think that it is more expensive than most Holiday Inn Express motels and is no better than others. In fact, there is one at Exit 4 (I-86) that is just as good, if not better, and is $30 less. Out- side of the price, however, it is a great place to stay and especially if you want a water park which does not especially make a difference to us.

The beds were very comfortable but the bathroom was not the cleanest. Was a very noisy place but under the serum stance thats understandable..alot of traffic and when the staff entered the elevator before guest( who were also waiting for the elevator) that I found to be very rude!

I travel frequently and stay at many hotels. This is the most overpriced and dilapidated hotel I have been to in a long time. My room was musty, the carpets and furniture were filthy and slimy, and the bathroom was outmoded by about 20 years. A real pit.

I had a free night with Priority points. If I had to pay the posted rate I would have been disappointed. As it is I used up 35000 points when I have stayed at nicer properties for 10000. Stains on walls and sofa. Carpet poorly vacuumed if at all. Bedroom was fine but family room not so much. I paid less than the posted rate across the street previously and would recommend it over this place even if the waterpark is attached. Staff were very nice and that was the only reason I didn't complain.

At first they had us on the third floor, when I explained my husband had a broken foot and would love the first floor, the only room on the first floor was a two room suite and they let us have that room with a small upgrade. The breakfast so hot and fresh so many choices, we stayed three nights and didn't eat the same breakfast all four mornings. The staff was very friendly and so over the top on any and all my questions. We already have plans to stay again. I think they should set something up for smokers, I understand that the only place to smoke is outside but on rainy days the only covered place is at the front entrance where everybody walks in. I know people hate to walk through a smoke screen to get to their smoke free room. We very happy with our stay super hot showers and very clean rooms, trust me I was in two on my stay. Its really nice that you don't need to leave to go to splash lagoon which my boys just loved.

Our son is currently in Erie so we came and stayed at your hotel for several days. We enjoyed our stay and loved our suite. We don't usually get a suite but this time we did and loved the jacuzzi tub.
We noticed you are an eco friendly hotel and used all ceramic dishes, etc for your breakfast area. We know that must create a lot of work but really appreciate that you put the effort into helping our ecology.

I have written to "customer service" about 5 days ago, and have not had a response. Room not properly prepared: completely clogged tub drain; dirty sheets still on sleep sofa; and other minor housekeeping-related problems.
Specific concerns have been sent to HI Express. I have asked for a partial refund of our expenses.

Coming in from the highway we didn't realize it was connected to a large waterpark and adjacent to a laser tag emporium. Therefore it was a destination for a great many families with young children. Breakfast room was crowded but food was plentiful. First room smelled like a swimming pool. Other room was great. Recommend making reservations through company website for best deal. If you are not in that demographic that enjoys crowds of children you may want to stay down the road.

We really were expecting a simple room with standard amenities but when we first opened the door, all three of us were so surprised at the size of the room, the fireplace, and the kitchen area. The bedroom was also large and quite comfortable. Cleanliness was also an A++. I've always had great experiences with Holiday Inn Express and specifically looked for one near Edinboro University. This one was the best one yet. And I didn't even know it had a water park attached. I will definately stay here again. My son felt like he was in his own first apartment when we left him for a while as we went to a late dinner. He stayed and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere after his first soccer game of the weekend tournament.

We found the room to be spacious compared to some other Holiday Inn Express' that we have stayed at so that was good. The beds were very comfortable and everyone had a good night sleep.
Breakfast was pretty good too lots of table were avaiable.

I usually have no issues with my stays at Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites but this was quite a surprise. I had reserved a no smoking King suite witha jacuzzi tub. I had driven there from New Jersey and wanted to relax after a 7 hr car ride. As soon as I opened the door I smelled an strong smell of cigarette smoke. Since I was so tired I tried to go to bed but even the bed sheets had a strong smell of cigarette smoke. I called the front desk but unfortunately the told me they had no vacancies. I took a clean t shirt and fell asleep. When I woke up i saw that the carpets had many stains and even the sofa that was in the room reaked of cigarettes. I had booked the room for two nigts but I left that morning.
