We enjoyed our stay very much and the staff were very polite and helpful. Everything we needed except a few drawers! We stayed two nights and apart from hanging a few things up we lived out of our cases. Sign posts to the hotel are urgently needed.

We used the hotel twice as a stop over from and to the ferry Harwich - Hook of Holland. The room is as new (June 2013) and was very clean.
Dinner in the evening looks like an old pub. Not so much to choose but tasted very well.

Stayed at same hotel a year ago, for same reason, as good stopover following ferry back from Holland to Harwich.
Staff we met were very friendly as well as being professional.
Very good quality room and the sofa bed was made up for us prior to arrival. Nice breakfast with a good variety of choice between hot items, contineltal type, cereals and toast. Overall a very enjoyable experience and would fully recommend.

New Holiday Inn Express, so nice, modern and clean as expected.
Nice bathroom with large walk-in shower (no bath).
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Bed too soft for my liking.
Room decor very dull and cold-looking (navy blues and lilacs) colours and lighting not great - in bathroom the lighting is not suitable for trying to apply makeup, and neither is it good enough in the main room full length mirror.
Cooked breakfast had poor selection, but continental style was good.
Would stay here again as it's great value, easy to get to location, clean & friendly.
Note: If you don't book direct with Holiday Inn, you don't get your Priority Club Points :-( But you do still get recognition at the front desk and discounts off restuarant food :-)

Me and my friend were stuck there because we have no own transport to reach to the town. Google map saying that there is a bus 247 running in the area but when we were there, we realised that the bus services was not that frequent. So we have to spend £12 for cab to get there from Colchester station. As we don't want to spend more on cab, we decide to go out by walk. But the roads around that area has no way for pedestrian. And according to the residents staying around, there is no specific bus stop that you can wait for the bus as well as the schedule of bus services. However, it is a clean and neat room with nice decorations. It would be a great place to stay if you have your own transport. So it is highly not recommended for traveller like us who use public transport.

Well, Very nice building, new and nice rooms, shower etc, Very Good job your team has done well.
The Staff
I think her name was Danny,we were greeted like this!
We came up to the desk and she said "NAME" !
and the American Ha Ha "O Dear" I wish we had tape it.
I said to my Wife what bloody alwful staff I said fancy greeting a guest with NAME! all she needed to finish it off with was to ask for my Number ie enroling in to the army prison etc.
Mine you when we went to check out she did not disappiont I was greeted with NUMBER.
The only thing I managed to be as rude as her was not to say thank you not that she no's what that means.
O and one more thing ask the American for a pillow!

Clean , comfortable ,great beds and fab shower. Have stayed here a number of times and have always been satisfied with the service. Excellent value for money. Breakfast basic but can,t complain for the money. Staff have always been pleasant and professional. Will stay again.

We have stayed at thos hotel 6 times now and it is always good, rooms are clean and comfortable and staff are very obliging. Priority clubs members are well recognised, with a discount off food and drink.
