Rushmore the next day. The staff was friendly and there is a nice family owned restaurant/bar within walking distance. November 1, 2015

We are staying for a week at a time so of course by the third or fourth night the room is getting smaller, but there is actually plenty of room in here. I am sitting in one of them now, again. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Rudeness abounds! This was the worst stay ever and required me filing 2 complaints through IHG customer care! I booked a room, as this hotel had many restrictions for a "pet friendly" hotel. When making my reservation, under the special instructions, I noted that we would be arriving with a pet including size and breed. Upon our arrival, I was informed that we couldn't have the reserved room, that she had never bothered to read the special instructions and then proceeded to go on a tirade about barking dogs. She then had me sign 3 papers of which I had to include my cell number, these were all just for the dog staying. This person was beyond rude and condescending, but was also the GM for the property. I explained that we were moving and wanted to run to the restaurant in the same parking lot to pick up a to go order and was met with a disapproving look and a "well I have your cell phone number". Since the only room she could give us was on the 1st floor next to the lobby, the night was not a restful one. After dealing with her attitude, I contacted IHG. After a positive interaction with them, I was encouraged to approach the GM,the following morning. my surprise, it was the same person who checked us in. I still tried to voice my concerns and was met with a horrible attitude and her saying to me "well I LET you go pick up your food". I was shocked and decided to just leave without any resolution. She was still yelling at me as I went through the door! My advice, avoid this place especially if you have pets. Pet friendly they are not! October 24, 2015
