Glad I made reservations in Feb for the June stay! Nice, clean. Room door would not lock. Miranda on staff got Maintenance up just after we got in room. They could not resolve the door problem that evening, but advised the morning manager had the code to reprogram the door the next morning. The dead bolt worked so we stayed in our room that night. We were tired anyway. The next morning at 7am, Miranda got w/mgr and maintenance came up and fixed the door! We were not inconvenienced on our vacation travels. The rest of the stay was wonderful! Hats off to the staff for taking care of the situation as quickly as possible!

We decided at the last minute to stay here vs. driving the scary mountain roads home in the dark & rain. They were able to accommodate us easily without a reservation. The rooms are nice and clean, slightly claustrophobic as the ceilings seem low. The beds were comfortable, the TV worked great. They have a really nice indoor/outdoor pool that we didn't get a chance to use, but if we would have been there long-term, it is inviting.
Our daughter fell ill during our stay, and housekeeping/maintenance were prompt, polite and completely professional. When I had to take our daughter to the hospital in the middle of the night, the front desk staff assisted us in pointing us in the right direction. Kudos to all of the staff for assisting us.

I went to Flagstaff on business. I could have stayed at one of the pricier hotels, but this hotel was 5 minutes away from where I needed to go everyday. Everything is so convenient around the area, major restaurants within walking distance, a few fast food places up the street and a Walmart if you want to pick up a few items, put them in the fridge and microwave them later. The room set up is a little awkward, but I figured everything out on my own, rearranged some things and didn't have to contact the front desk. The daily breakfast is awesome, each day something different. I would definitely stay here again.

The building was old and within minutes of putting my grandson down his feet were black from walking barefoot on the carpet. But everyone in the hotel were extra friendly. Even the maintenance spoke to you. Just need an upgrade.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Maxy52 Overall good experience
Overall this hotel was good value for money. Although in places it could do with a bit of TLC, whole place needed a good spruce up, looking a bit tatty in places, on saying that everything was clean and tidy and the staff helpful and polite. Rooms had everything you needed, and were quiet. Breakfast was good. Hotel in a good location. Pool was great, half indoors and half outdoors, hot tub wasgood, though the timer switch was broken so once you turned it on, it stayed on. Overall ok.

Due to a malfunction, the door to my room would not lock. However the room, people and overall atmosphere was extremely pleasant. Everything was clean and all the saff was very accommodating and although my door would not lock I felt very safe. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by jtimo61 Good option for a one night stop-over in Flagstaff
If you're driving between the west coast and the national parks or other destinations in Utah, Colorado, or New Mexico, the Holiday Inn Express in Flagstaff makes a convenient stop-over. I just wish it were closer to the nice downtown area, where we like to go for a shopping or a meal. You can't really walk anywhere from this hotel.
We do enjoy here, however, the spacious rooms, indoor pool, and hearty breakfast. We were disappointed that the front desk clerk did not recognize us as Priority Club members but the manager was very friendly and welcoming. Overall, we would recommend this hotel to others and would stay there again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by thebrasilian Excellent Value and Convenient
While there's other lodging closer to or in downtown Flagstaff, I much prefer this HIE located just a 5-10 minute drive from downtown. Parking is much easier; getting to and from anyplace is much easier. And the location is quieter than the other busy hotels in-town. The breakfast room is large, and has an over-flow area if required. The staff was friendly and attentive. We liked everything about this property, and would definitely stay here again.

check in was great, staff was helpful. location is good for passing through on I40. this hotel looks old and could use some tlc. the rooms show alot of wear and tear. the beds are extremely hard and uncomfortable. the room rate is high for what you get, if not for the location and my priority membership I would probably stay somewhere else.

I normally use this hotel as a quick stop over on my way to California. However I had to be in town for a few days and got to stay this time. Great location but not to close to highway to hear noise. Easy to get to UNA and other areas I needed.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PCTexas Family trip - nice pool
It was all we needed for our summer road trip. The pool had the kids entertained after a hot day traveling. As typical the room was neat and clean as were the common areas. Above normal was the friendliness of the staff and the manager personally greeted folks at breakfast to see how we were doing.
Convenient off I-40 and very close to the Lowell Observatory.

The hotel is old and in need of maintenance. Our beds were comfortable and maid service was good.
Too run our refrigerator, you had to roll cabinet out and unplug the microwave, or vice versa, to run microwave, you had to roll cabinet out and unplug refrigerator.
Our sofa was hard as a rock and very dirty.
Breakfast was prepared and served really good and kitchen service was also good.
Our biggest complaint was the "advertised 24 hour a day shuttle service to and from airport" . We were met by a young man and lady on a "hippy" type taxi, and attire, after waiting for 25 min., after we called.
We rented a car one day and set up for the "shuttle, taxi" to meet us at 7:45 at airport to take us back to hotel, the shuttle did not show up, we called a second time, and after a total of 45 minutes , the airport was getting ready to close and the rental car representative gave us a ride back to hotel, otherwise , we would have been alone at an empty, closed airport and no way to reach another cab.
When we requested (24 hours in advance) an "on time" shuttle to take us to airport to fly home, we were told they could not guarantee if the shuttle would come on time or an hour late, and if we did not like that, we could call our own taxi and find a way to airport.
As it turns out a liitle while later we were assured a more reliable taxi had been secured for the next morning's drive to airport and he was on time.

Have stayed at this property 2 times before but we were disappointed this time..The pool area was dirty, windows looked like they had some sort of stickers at one time and looked like they haven't been cleaned in months. The cleanliness of the room was worse than the times we have stayed before..
We will find a different place to stay the next time we visit Flagstaff.

This Holiday Inn is just outside the gates of GC. It was clean, relatively quiet -- even at the peak of tourist season -- and with a courteous staff.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GuestHappy Good service from all staff levels, even manager
The front desk clerks were knowledgeable and very friendly! I like how there's a small arcade room for the kids. What I especially liked was that during the breakfast buffet, the manager came and greeted each table with a "good morning!". He even helped clear off the tables. I appreciated how all staff pitched in to welcomed guests.

we were in a room right over the loading area
at 930 pm a staff member was using a power washer to clean his car and the noise was load enough that we needed to increase the volume on the tv.
20 mins later, clean car and overly tired guests
at 429am the next morning, Sysco made a delivery. REALLY? 429 in the morning? needles to say we were woken up, left the hotel without a chance for breakfast, tired and needing to drive several hundred miles.
Counter staff did what they could but "a reduced rate" it did not satisfy
manager has not contacted us as promised
We have stayed at this hotel before and had a great experience
IF we need to stay in Flagstaff again, and IF we choose Holiday Inn, we WILL NOT accept a room facing the front!
Worst experience at a Holiday Inn in years
As a priority club member, I would expect a better chose of rooms

We spent one night here near the end of a two week road trip. We were tired and had to do laundry in their public facility. When we discovered there was no soap available to do laundry, one of the staff went and found some for us. He also helped later when we had problems with the dryer. His attitude and helpfulness made what could have been a difficult situation very easy to deal with.
The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is well maintained with easy access off Interstate 40.
The staff recommended a restaurant, The Northern Pines, within walking distance for dinner. The food there was tasty and reasonable.

We stayed here because my mom was having surgery and we live over an hour away.
When we first arrived we were greeted warmly and quickly even though they were busy checking in other guests. Safir was very sweet and friendly. He gave us a bag with bottled water and chips in it. Throughout the stay everytime he saw us he would ask how my mom was doing. It made the stay at this hotel so nice.
Breakfast was GREAT!
We stayed two nights @ the Flagstaff Holiday Inn Express and both mornings they had a wonderful array of choices.
The first Morning they had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, Fresh made pancakes, fruit, cold cereal, 3 kinds of muffins, 2 kinds of bread for toast, 2 kinds of bagels, fresh hot cinnamon rolls, bisciuts and gravy, 4 kinds of yogart, juice and 4 kinds of hot beverages,. The second morning they exchanged the scrambled eggs for egg and cheese omlets, and the bacon & sausage links for ham slices & sausage patties. Otherwise everything else was the same. It was maintained nicely. You saw the Ladies taking care of breakfast constantly. It may not be a five star restaruant, but it wasn't a cheap one star hotel's continental breakfast either.
The pool is both indoors and outdoors. It says that it's heated but because of it being half outside it doesn't seem as warm as could be. But on the positive side it was cold outside and 8pm. So maybe in the summertime it might be better. the spa is outside, so if you want to soak in the hot tub and relax beware of the cold evening winds. Otherwise it was sooo nice and warm.
It's location was perfect to stay at to go to the hospital, the mall or any of the other wonderful things to do around Flagstaff. It's also close to I-40 for anyone who's just passing through.
The only complaint I have is that the Beds in room 320 were hard as a ROCK! they were clean but it felt like threre wasn't a matress at all, just a box spring and sheets. I stayed at another Holiday Inn Express, and their beds were much softer, and they had a matress pad on top of the soft matress making it even softer. BUT the good thing about the Flagstaff hothel's beds was that they had a metal box under them, so you couldn't lose anything under it, I really liked that.
On the other hand, I have read other reviews of this place and the management replied to their complaints with "The hotel is in the process of being renovated" so I hope that the beds in our room are GOING to be replaced and haven't ALREADY been replaced.
