Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Like trying to sleep in the middle of the speedway. The room was OK, the staff was OK. Other than that, the experience was not good. Unless you really have to stay close to the airport (or you are so tired that no amount of noise will disturb you), avoid. Next time, we'll stay in town, and just get up earlier to get to LGA. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great choice We visited NYC for 4 days and opted to stay outside of Manhattan to save money. We would do it again since we probably saved $200+ per night and our stay at this Holiday Inn Express was excellent. The staff was always friendly and helpful, and they provided a free shuttle to the subway. The only issue was we sometimes had to wait 45 mins or more for a ride back from the subway in the evening. We finally cabbed it the last night for only $15 and would do that next time. December 28, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff We needed a one night pit stop on the way to Philadelphia. The hotel staff was excellent meeting our needs. Rooms were tight but right for the price. They have a shuttle to the Subway but it was not as convenient as we encountered elsewhere. Overall it was a good stay for the price and purpose. December 22, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Location and Service We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express LaGuardia for 2 nights. Chose hotel for its proximity to the airport, and shuttle transportation - both met our expectations. Special kudos go to Christina at the Front Desk, her helpfulness and great attitude enhanced our stay. Breakfast was fine, what we would expect from the brand, although the breakfast room was on a small side - not much can be done about that. The only other feedback about the breakfast - the staff was helping themselves with coffee and food while the guests were there. Normally doesn't bother me, but because the eating area is already small as it is, it added to the feeling of "too many people, not enough room". The guest room was efficient, again on a small side, but clean. One suggestion - add a couple of shelves in the bathroom, there's nearly not enough space to put toiletries and personal items. Overall, a great hotel, and will stay again if our travels take us to the area. November 21, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Price & Great Service Reserved 2 rooms - one was a little stale smelling, however the other was nice & fresh. Rooms were very clean. Won't get a room on the highway side next time - ssoooo much traffic noise. Glad we got there before valet service started. Free breakfast was nice & predictable. I still don't understand why the OJ is watered down. Staff was great upon checking in & out. Free snacks were nice too. Location was good even for going back & forth to JFK airport. The parking lot is a little cramped, and the breakfast area was cramped and uncomfortable but the customer service was top notch and the room was clean and comfortable. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First time at HIE LaGuardia I arrived late (11:45PM +), called the hotel for the shuttle, they picked me up within 15 minutes despite a "bottle neck" of cars parked to pick up arriving passengers. Hotel staff (Eric) was very efficient and friendly in checking me in. Room was clean, nicely appointed and relatively quiet even though I was in a room right by the elevator. Check-out was quick and easy. I asked the staff to call a taxi for me; she called a town car with no signage. He was a little expensive and I prefer regular taxis, but it was OK. Next time I'll ask for a taxi, not a town car. I'd definitely return. October 16, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Very Disappointed I have stayed at a number of Holiday Inn Expresses and this is the first time I can honestly say I was very disappointed. If I return to the NYC area, I will travel a little further to the airport and stay at another Holiday Inn Express! While the facility and rooms were clean and well cared for, the staff, some of whom attempted to argue with me on more than one occasion, were not near as friendly and accommodating to their Platinum members as has been my experience at other HIE properties. The clerk who checked us in told me upgrades for Platinum members were not available at this property and while they would give me a discount, they wanted me to know they were breaking all the rules by doing so. We experienced problems with room assignment when one of our group members opened the door of what was to be a king room and found double beds, and one of our group members discovered her room had been assigned to a second guest when she was in bed and a family entered her room while she was sleeping. When she went down to the desk to get her key card changed, the desk clerk attempted to convince her there was no need to provide her new keys for the room as the family had been assigned to another room and would not be re-entering her room! We were also very disappointed in the breakfast experience at this site. The breakfast room is extremely small, poorly arranged, and unable to accommodate all the guests eating on any of the three mornings we were at the hotel -- with the overflow of people eating having to sit and stand in the lobby to eat their breakfast. It also appeared as though they were trying to cut corners by not offering gravy for the biscuits, cheese in the omelets, etc. When compared to a budget or discount hotel, our experience at this property was not bad -- but certainly not the quality and standard we've come to expect from Holiday Inn Express! The hotel was beautiful and very clean. My only complaint would be that the room was a bit small. With that being said,they more then make up for the size of the room with the customer service and cleanliness!! I would recommend this hotel to all! Thank you for a great experience!!!
