Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by The WORST Holiday Inn Express I've ever stayed at! I feel like I WASTED my annual Chase anniversary night on this place! Although this is a non-smoking property, the first room we were assigned smelled of a combination of cigarette smoke and an unsucessful attempt to cover up the smell. To the credit of the staff, when we complained we were given another room. The heat/ac unit was sub-par with dual controls. Want to enjoy some coffee and relax in the dining room?... Forget about it since you will be locked out of the dining room so the kitched staff can 'clean up' and listen to music. You'll have to settle for sitting in the main lobby and all the noise and activities that will buzz around you. IHG Rewards Priority Elite member and want a late check out? You probably won't get that either but you WILL get a phone call and a knock on your door shortly after regular check out time to wake you up. Don't bother with the 'do not disturb' hanger; they are invisible to the staff. I have stayed in many IHG properties and have never quite found one as unsatisfying as this one. This hotel performs at the level of a much lower priced hotel. Sorry, I hate to leave bad reviews and always try to find only the good in my stays but this experience has to be mentioned. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Caveat emptor I stayed at this hotel for one night while I was in town for a scuba diving trip. Upon arrival I was asked to sign a no smoking policy, which I had no problem with, as I am not a smoker. My stay was comfortable, although I didn't spend much time at the hotel - I arrived at 4P and left at 6A. The problems began when I later reviewed my credit card bill and discovered that I had been charged a $275 surcharge. When I queried the hotel they claimed that smoke had been detected in my room and the additional charge was to remediate the smoke. I spoke to the general manager and explained that I am a non smoker and there must have been an error. She was adamant about my alleged guilt and completely unwilling to relent on her accusation. I called Holiday Inn's corporate office and learned that they do not get involved with customer disputes with "the franchises." To date, I am still fighting this charge. My advice, if you choose to stay here, make sure you have management check your room before departure and sign off that your room passes the sniff test. September 18, 2014
