Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice stopover on the way to a cruise. We only stayed one night on our way to a cruise but it was a very nice place with free hot breakfast. I wouldn't recommend the Old Heidelberg for dinner which is down the street. I also would have the hotel call a taxi to get you to your cruise port instead of the shuttle service which is slower. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. February 22, 2013

Lauderdale for business or vacation. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A pleasurable oasis We had the opportunity to spend a couple of days twice at 1150 State Rd. 84 and both visits were great. From the front desk to the breakfast attendant everything was more then satisfactory. The pool is very relaxing and they have a nice fitness center. They are located near several good restaurants. This will be our first stopping point when going or returning from a cruise. February 11, 2013

I phoned the hotel from the ship and told them what had happened..They had found my medication and had it delivered ito the cruise terminal in 20 minuites after I hung up from talking to the Manager. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nightly rates My rate per night went from $144/night to $154/night to $199/night all in the same week. Adjustments were made but only after several phone calls. Suggest you alert your cleks to remind guests that rates are changing. Doubt if I will ever use this property again. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Where to begin Stayed here twice within a weeks time due to unfamiliarity with area and booking online. The first time the staff was accommodating and helpful allowing us to sit out by the pool while we waited for our check in time. Note that there are a very limited number of restaurants (a couple of fast food & a German restaurant within walking distance) about 1/4 to 1/2 mile each way assuming you use the crosswalk which I recommend due to the traffic on State Rd 84. Also, there appears to be an arrangement with a Crown Plaza in the area where you can get a shuttle to take you to the restaurant there and back. Second stay was not nearly as pleasant. Kids running up and down the hallway, yelling and screaming past our room till nearly 11:00pm. Adults talking loudly to each other outside the rooms. Doors slamming shut (assume this to be the kids) and loud banging noises till late (11:00pm ish). Asked for a 3:15 wake up call to allow time to get ready to be able to catch the 4:00 shuttle due to an early flight. Received call at 3:28. Then found out our room had virtually no hot water while trying to shower and when I turned on strictly the hot water in the shower the pressure dropped off. Never did get a truly hot shower, it remained luke warm. Staff was not familiar with airport times as we found out after taking an earlier shuttle to the airport based on a conversation with the hotels front desk employee the night before. Found out we arrived at our airline before they opened for business for the day. Also found the TSA check point was not open when we arrived. Wound up sitting around in the airport for nearly an hour waiting for TSA to open for business. In fairness to the staff, it probably is not their responsibility to know what times airlines and the TSA open for business but then again, why run a shuttle from 3:00am on.... The hotel itself appears to be one of the older facilities that is about due for some major remodeling. Wasn't that it was terribly dirty, just older and starting to show its wear. I could go on but the bottom line is that I will not stay at this location again. February 3, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value and Pleasant Stay We stayed at this hotel after returning from a cruise. We had booked a cruise excursion from the ship that eventually dropped us at the airport and we called for the hotel shuttle to pick us up there to bring us to the resort. Our booking was prepaid and check in was quick and painless (Priority Club Members). The hotel was clean and the breakfast area was spacious. The room was comfortable although we did end up turning the air conditioning down. The water was hot and the water pressure was great. Everything in the room worked. It was later in the day by the time we got there so we did not make use of the great pool but it looked very inviting and there were several people sitting and reading on the pool patio. We got diner from a Chinese restaurant close by and brought it in. We forgot to get plates and a visit to the desk got us what we needed with no hassles. We asked for a wake up call to ensure we made it back to the airport in the morning and the call came exactly on time. There was even a back up call about 5 minutes later. Small thing but a nice touch. The airport shuttle was held up and the desk person was right on top of it. We had allowed ourselves lots of time but it was nice to see the extra concern from the desk staff. All in all a very nice stay and we would recommend this hotel to others - especially pre or post cruise. January 28, 2013

Had a problem with TV, called down to the desk and the desk clerk came right up and fixed the problem. Breakfast was great. make sure you try the cinnamon buns. January 21, 2013

Driver was extremely cordial and provided us information on food and entertainment options. They allowed early check in. Room was comfortable and they provided us a last minute rollaway bed for an unexpected guest.. The hotel is situated close to airport/port and had numerous food/shopping/bars/entertainment options all within walking distance... I would definitely stay there again. Thanks January 16, 2013

The manager was very accommodating in making the arrangements for us to do that. Excellent airport transportation to and from the hotel. The staff are very friendly! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very convenient location for going on a Cruise. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express one night before going on our cruise and two nights before flying back home again. As we came from Europe we didn't have our own car with us. The shuttle service from the airport and to the airport was ok and the driver friendly and helpful. Also the shuttle to and from the Port-Terminal was ok and the fee raisonnable. The employees at the front desk were friendly and helpful and the lady who was in charge of the pantry was much engaged to maintain a well sorted breakfast- buffet and a clean breakfast room. Fast wireless internet is also important to me and a friendly staff. I found all of these elements at this location. The price was right too.
