This location is older, you can tell by the décor. The room was very small considering they claim to give me a complementary upgrade. But to top off the stay, the next morning I was awoken by the housekeeping lady walking into my room! Really... not how I wanted to wake up, and at 8:00am none the least when I was in no hurry to hit the road. The lady did apologize, just glad I was under the covers.....
Don't think I'll ever stay there again. But if you stay there make sure to hang the tag on the outside of the door so no one barges in on you.

This hotel does not meet the expectation and standard of a Holiday Inn Express. Yes, the breakfast was consistent, the sign at the entrance, but the carpets are worn, the beds are hard, the bathrooms are outdated and the linens are worn.
It was a convenient stop on a long trip, but next time through the area, I'll find different accommodations.

This was our second stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was great, as are all of our HI Express visits. The first night, there were hallway talkers and door slammers until the wee hours of the morning. The second night it felt like the folks above us were walking on our heads. You could hear every move they were making, including in the bathroom :-( I don't recall things being so noisy on our first stay a year ago.

My stay was not very good from the start. I arrived around 10:30 pm after a long day of drivng. It was very cold outside in the lower 20's. When the clerk told me I was on the second floor and there was no elevator to use I had to make two trip from my car to get all of my stuff in the room. After arriving at my room with the first items my room key did not work. I tried both of them several times. I also was pretty sure I heard someone in the room. I headed back down the steps to the looby with my stuff and told him what was going on. instead of picking up the phone and calling the room he issued me with keys to another room. I went back up the steps to the room next to where I was suppose to be. I opened the door and walked into a very cold room. I turned the heater on and headed back to my car for load number 2. Once in my room It was not warming up very fast. I changed the settings to High Fan and turned the knob up to warmer without change in the room temperture. The knob kept turning without making a diffwerence. It was blowing just a little warm air. While unpacking I looked up and saw dust balls clinging to the the ceiling over top of the bed. I put on my sweat clothes and wrapped up in the bed dressings. It was colder the following morning in the room as well as outside!! I report both issues to the desk clerkj when I checked out around 8 am the following morning. Very Disappointed!

I received very good service. I use a wheelchair and the security guard would open the door for me which made my life easier. Check-in was fast and simple. The breakfast staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds and bedding were disappointing. I have stayed in other Holiday Inn Expresses with better quality beds and bedding.
The customer service of the staff was excellent.

The hotel is built such that if there is a guest in the room directly above you, you can hear every footstep they take. This is particularly bothersome when it is occurring from 2am-4am in the morning and is involving several people walking constantly around their room. The location is convenient, the staff and security are very nice, but if I were to stay here again, I would request a room on the second floor to minimize the room noise.

I find it difficult to believe Holiday Inn has it's name on this property. As a PC member, being challenged to get a bottle of water, is appalling. I've stayed at Motel 6 & Super 8 which are much nicer. The beds are awful, too low & zero support. Rooms are run down & in need of repair. Cleaning the room is a joke. May have been vacuumed twice in the more than 2 weeks I was there. My vehicle was "keyed" or scratched in the parking lot. No cameras, according to front desk attendant. I happened to be @ the front desk awaiting the attendant, while someone checked in for a single night. I was supposedly getting a discount rate (for 4 rooms for a local business which has a preferred rate), this guest checking in received a lower rate than I had been quoted. An NO, he showed no ID other than driver's license. When this motel is "critiqued" by authorized personnel, the score will be in the basement. Kindest regards, Disappointed

Our stay was just one night. The staff was friendly. Check in/out couldn't have been easier. The room was very nice and clean! The complimentary breakfast was one of the better ones we've seen. We will definitely stay at this hotel again if we have business in Frederick.

I and my family have stayed there multiple times over the past few years and the staff always treats us great. The rooms are very clean and the stay is strees free. Great location to shopping in the area and restaurants.

The staff and front office was fine for our one night stay....however our room was not....it was late and we were very tired so we did not ask for a different room. a mistake on our part.
The room had several bugs crawling around on the walls and ceiling...moving on to the night stand and beds (looked like what we called stink bugs from long ago).
The heat and air conditioner did not work.....room was very warm and we could not cool it off.
Next morning water would not drain out of bath tub during shower...was standing in water well above my ankles.
I reported the bugs to the front desk just after we checked in...I reported the other problems at check out.

we were there 2 non consecutive nights recently. I thought the selection on the breakfaxt menu was better than most HEEs and appreciated the 6-10 hours for breakfast rather than the usual 6-9.

This motel is top on my list. Everytime I call for a room or need one in an emergency or when dog shows are in the area I can count on this Holiday Inn Express. Staff is awesome and breakfast is delicious and fresh. The only suggestion is that there would be more rooms with a microfridge. This motel is located by so many good restaurants. We love staying there. See you in April 2013

Sometimes you end up in a Holiday Inn express that was an old hotel that got a new sign. This is one of them. For starters, due to a law in Frederick, there's no elevator and the big disappointment to the kids was no pool. The hotel is dated, the doors swing open, making bringing in luggage difficult, the rooms smell of toxic cleaners, and they are worn, dirty and small. After a very long day, this was not the welcome we were expecting. Holiday Inn Express, you need to reevaluate having this hotel associated with your name.
We waited over 10 minutes to check in while the desk person was trying to deal with someone not getting wifi to work, another check-in, and a guest returning a filthy ice bucket. She tried her best, but was overwhelmed. We have higher expectations due to staying in other HIE properties, and this one does not meet the bill. The worst moment - while in bed looking at the ceiling and all the dust globs collected on the ceiling. We couldn't get out of there fast enough.

I was told that check in time was 3:00 but upon 3:00 arrival was told that it would be another 1 and one-half hours before a room would be ready. Upon hearing my expression of dissatisfaction another clerk interceded and told me a room would be ready in 20 minutes or alteratively immediately if a 2nd floor no elevator was acceptable. I didn't feel like waiting any longer so I took the 2nd floor. Since I was traveling lightly it wasn't a major inconveniance and additiionally I was given a reduced rate. Other than the check-in snag the accommodations were very satisfactory.

No elevator, dirty hall carpets, low ceilings, very low sinks, no storage - not even a closet! Poor lighting, no view, noisy. Convenient and better cost than some nearby, but a bit of a dump.
Plus, when I was in a real hurry to return to room and dress for my son's wedding, my card didn't work to get in the back of the building or my room. Very inconvenient and annoying.
No cranberry juice for breakfast - broken both days. No waffle machine disappointed my husband. Coffee was good. All food was kept full and was fresh. Rooms were clean. A/C worked fine, even if it was just a wall unit, although we had it turned on full blast in October, so it might have been not enough in hot weather. Sink and shower drained slowly.
Disappointing stay.
