My husband and I always seek out Holiday Inn for our travels because the quality is consistent. This stay was a disappointment. When we reserved our rooms, my husband asked if we should pay a higher rate for a room with a scenic view of the Hill Country. When he said we would have a balcony, I told him to book it. When we pulled nto the parking lot on the evening of our first stay, I couldn't imagine which room we could have that would allow a view of the Hill Country. Our room had a view of the swimming pool, and a gas station. So much for the increased rate for the view. As we were placing our bags in the the bathroom, I noted a Q-tip on the ground, next to the trash can. I thought it was an understandable oversight, but it remained there for two of the three days we were visiting. I also spotted a broken lock from what appeared to be a suitcase latch that remained on our floor for the entire stay. All of that was merely annoying. The worst was my Saturday morning shower. At about 9:00 a.m. I got into the shower and just after I had gotten completely wet, the water turned cold. I called the front desk to ask what was happening and was told I was the first to complain and they would look into my complaint and call me back. I waited for thirty minutes, but no call and still cold water. After 45 minutes I took a quick shower with tepid water. I received a call to check on the status of my water about an hour later. I went to the front desk later that morning to seek out the manager and was told that due to numerous absentee calls that morning, the manager would be in later in the day to fill some of the missing positions. At that point I gave up. Overall, a completely disappointing, and surprisingly so, experience at this Holiday Inn.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jill49 awesome room, great service and very comfortable
This was our first trip to fredricksburg. What a great town! Our stay at the holiday inn express was top notch! We stayed in one of the pool side suites. The pool area is so relaxing with an awesome pool for all ages (great for family get togethers). Our suite had two bathrooms (spotless!) A dining area (which was great for family games and cards), living area, two tvs and the most comfortable king size bed for a great night of sleep! The staff at the front desk were friendly, personable and great for information about the town. The trip was for mother's day. My husband and I, from the Waco area, met my mother and her special friend for the weekend. They live in south tx for the winter and travel in the summer. Unfortuntely my mother became very ill early sunday on mothers day. We had to go the the hospital and she stayed for two days there. Be reassured that if you need emergent care in Fredricksburg, Tx it also was a very professional team with great skilled and caring personnel at the Hill Country Medical Hospital. I have been an RN for over 25 years and my mother got great care there. The staff at the hotel were so nice and extended our check out time and also said they would hold the room of we needed to stay. In my opinion this hotel was 5 stars!! Great job Fredricksburg and Holiday Inn Express!!!

Here's my experience:
First off let me say the facility is amazing Rooms and Pool Area! The cleaning staff always said hello when we passed one another which was very nice too. The front desk staff horrible. Here is why:
- Attempted to over charge me (20 plus minute check in to correct)
- Did not give me the correct type room which took another complaint to fix at which the Manager spoke to me with a very stressful attitude
- Despite requesting that my rooms be next to one another months before and being told at check in they would be... they were not. The Managers response was "They cannot accommodate everyone’s request" which is understandable but a simple apology for the inconvenience would be nice since I did make the request more than two months in advance to ensure my rooms would be together.
- When going to the pool at 8:30 I was yelled twice as if I was a child and then followed by a staff member to the courtyard shouting "the pool is closed" which one I wasn’t planning on getting it since it was so cold and despite the fact the sign said the pool closes at 10pm... Oh and there were four people in the hot tub so when I was later told it was for weather reasons that made no sense because they would have closed the hot tub too if that were the case.
-At check out I never was asked how my stay was, whether or not I enjoyed my stay, I was not welcomed to come back in the future, and they had me sign my receipts for a second time just because I asked for a copy.
-When my sister went back to get names of people that was the only point in time anyone showed any concern.

Recently stayed here for the third time. Definitely enjoyed the trip AGAIN. This time we had a room with a balcony and enjoyed sitting outside at night overlooking the pool with the fire pit. Breakfast choices were excellent, and the furnishings of the room are great. Definitely allowed a great night's sleep in a luxurious room. Staff was friendly. Although I wish it was a bit less expensive, but overall, it is my favorite place to stay in Fredericksburg. Planning a return trip soon.

I arrived a day early and Eldon at the front desk assisted by adding another night. He also looked up my Priority Club number and applied it to my account. He had a great attitude especially since I checked in at 11:30 PM.

We were told that the hotel was full before we drove to Fredericksberg. When we got there, we checked with the hotel, and, sure enough, they had had a cancellation and we were able to get a lovely room.
This hotel is as good as a hotel can be.
