We have been coming to this Holiday Inn for years. We have stayed there multiple times both with and without children.
We booked a suite and were told by central booking that we would receive a two room suite separated by a door, so that we could sleep our children in the second room of the suite.
In reality, when we arrived, the "suite" was only a single room and did not fit our needs. When we alerted Yadira, the front desk attendant, she was less than helpful. She insisted that it was our problem and said there was nothing she could do. What's worse is that she didn't even explain the situation in an adequate way to the manager so that the manager could help solve our issue. Instead, her position on this was that it was just our tough luck. We proceeded to call central booking who also gave us the same poor customer service. In the end, given that it was Thanksgiving and we had driven for 2 hours, we took the room and we made it work. The issue that we experienced was that it was a bait-and-switch. Central booking told us one thing and the staff gave us less than what we were promised.
We have never been treated so poorly by Holiday Inn. We have always enjoyed our stays in Freeport. I really don't know if we'll be back. The staff did nothing to solve the issue that they created. We were made to feel like we were asking too much and that WE were the ones being unreasonable.
The fact of this is that we were sold a room that we purchased specifically because we have a family and we needed a full, two room suite. What we were given was a little more than a regular room and we were given a room that we did not agree to. We purchased a suite and we were given a regular room that did not fit our needs.

Everything about this stay was enjoyable. Room, staff, locale. The lady at the front desk (didn't get her name) was very helpful. We checked in before the normal time. The room was beautiful, clean, and spacious.
The only thing that needs some improvement is the complimentary breakfast.

the room that we got (upgraded from a King to a suite) was get grand location was close to the highway and many other things.

We had a great experience at the Holiday Inn Express. We go there every year with our family for a November trip and we always have a great experience. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very courteous. The pool is nice, good size so several groups can be in there at once and you feel comfortable.

Clean room except for AC filter which cause a rattle in unit. Staff fixed problem by cleaning filter.

Extremely friendly & helpful staff.
Great room but tables, lamps and TV hadn't been dusted in awhile. Perhaps the room hadn't been occupied in awhile (???#.
Comfortable bed & excellent pillows.
Nice & generously sized bathroom. Clean.
Beautiful breakfast room. Food choices were fair. Would have preferred more fresh fruit. Eliminate the biscuits & gravy #???). Preferr waffles to pancakes. More selection of bagels.
Overall an excellent place!

The first night we stayed was great, we came back through Freeport, and made a point of stopping at the same Holiday Inn
again. This time they upgraded our room, and it could not have been nicer. One thing that we really liked, were the windows REALLY opened to get some of that great Maine air in the room!
Did not get any recognition for IHG Members, but that's okay!
