I travel a lot and love staying at the Holiday Inn's; however, the beds were really old and hard and our room was not cleaned two out of the 5 days we were there. The food was good. Need to get comfortable beds like the others I have stayed at and staff needs to come back around to clean the rooms.

We stayed at this Hotel on the night of July 6,2013
When we called to book the room, we told the lady on the phone that there would be 2 adults and a child to stay for the night. She then told us the price. So we asked the lady if there was an area of the Hotel that was known to be less noise that we would appreciate it very much.
She then told us that on the pool side was known to have less noise, but the price would be higher which we thought was a little odd considering we stayed in several Hotels in our lifetime and was never charged extra for the same type of room in a Hotel. So we said to book us a room on the pool side.
The night we arrived, as soon as we opened the door to our room, we could hear water running in the flush and it would not work, so we had to call the front desk and they sent someone up to fix it.
The next morning my wife was making the beds and she noticed an empty Gaterade bottle under the edge of one of the beds, this was another chuckle we had about the place.
So when we went to check out at the front desk, we noticed that the room charge was more. We asked the lady what was the extra dollars for? At first she did not have an answer and said that this was the price of the room. She said there would be extra for the child. We asked to speak to the Manager, but she said it would not make any difference.........We are very disappointed.

My wife and I were invited to a family gathering in Georgetown, Maine. Because of the distance from our home in Massachusetts, we wanted to stay overnight in close proximity to the gathering place. Other than B & B's , the only hotel chain we trusted was the Holiday Inn in Bath, Maine. Although we had never been there before, we liked what we saw on their internet site and accordingly made reservations on line.
We were really impressed upon our arrival. Amanda, at the front desk could not have been more pleasant and accommodating to our needs and without our even requesting it, she reassigned our original room to a much more suitable room for us senior citizens.
Rather than hunting for a local restaurant for dinner that night we decided to try out the in-house facility. We are soooo glad that we did! After meeting my brother and his wife (also staying at the Holiday Inn#, and having a cocktail #or two# in the "Bounty" lounge, #excellent bar tender and fabulous décor# we had dinner in the hotel's restaurant.
All four of us agreed that the Prime Rib Dinners #that all four of us ordered# were the about the best we ever had experienced. Highest quality meat, done to perfection, beautifully presented, and served by our charming young waitress, The lovely Hilery. #one L.# I mention her because she also waited on us at breakfast the next morning and added much life and a special luster to our breakfast Buffet experience.
To be sure, no hotel is without defect#s#. The Bath Holiday Inn is not a new hotel. Although It has been well maintained and updated in many areas, it could still benefit from additional refurbishing, especially the elevator. Also, additional Ice Machines and snack dispensers would be helpful.
The Holiday Inn is located very close to a major highway which contributes to traffic noise, depending on your room assignment.
All in all, I would wholeheartedly recommend staying at the Bath, Maine Holiday Inn.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MSGS ADA room, etc #129
I arrived with a walker and was put in an ADA room
The room was on the first floor. but SO FAR AWAY that there was no benefit The room was close to a parking lot exit BUT NO ONE mentioned that at check in.
There were no "kleenex" in the room and there were no extra rolls of toilet paper.
The ADA bathroom did not have a single surface to put toiletries on.
There was not a single straight chairt in the room...the one non rolling chair was in the far corner of the room.
I hope adjustment can be made so others have a more pleasant experience.

Management of the restaurant was totally lacking......there was one server who was driven to tears due to the lack of support by others. The cooks were obviously in attentive....our order was not prepared correctly. There were a couple others working but no one was willing to help....until asked.....wow....could you bring me coffee while the solo server tried to work a busy dining room!! Total lack of training to the staff...teamwork was nonexistent .... People left the dining room because no one would take the initiative to at least greet the people to help with simple common things.....water, coffee, etc.
It was obvious these young people wanted to do a good job but acted as though they were afraid to pitch in and help with whatever they could......they acted as though they would be in trouble if they did other than "their job"!!!!!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Robmike428 Housekeeping was poor
The service at this location was very poor, in particular, the housekeeping. The building is obviously outdated and had a "old" smell to it. During a recent trip we stayed in 8 different Holiday Inns. This by far was the worst. Again, poor house keeping!

This place looks rundown. Our room was not cleaned the next day only the bed got made we had to call the dest to bring towels up and to empty the trash, We talk to to the personnel at the desk the next morning about the room not being clean and he said he would tell the cleaning crew to clean the room for new check in and it would be ready for us when we would return from our day trip. The bath room was not cleaned.

We stopped here on our way Downeast. Good proximity to the L L Bean homestore and the Bath Ironworks. Food in Restaurant (breakfast for us) was good/average. Cool restaurant and bar mimick an old ship dock-side in restaurant, interior in the bar.
We traveled with our small dog, and they were accommodating. Room was up to date and clean with fridge etc...
This will be our stop consistently as we pass this way.

We booked very last minute on-line and was worried about getting a 2 bed room. I knew it was a busy weekend (soccer tournament) so called and got confirmation that we did have a 2 bed room and was all set. When checking in, we had absolutely no problems. The person I spoke to on the phone was the same person checking us in, Frances. She was extremely helpful and very friendly. Through the weekend, I had multiple questions for her and she was always great getting answers for me.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. It was easy to get to and close access to most of what we needed to do. We got a very good price on it, so it made the value even better. Would certainly stay there again.

The staff at the restaurant were friendly and the service was great. I will certainly be back next time I'm in the Bath area.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mom67 Parents of Adult Children Beware!
My husband and I have made reservations many times for our adult children when they visit our town. We made a reservation online and I gave my credit card information for the deposit. The next day my husband went to the hotel to pay the full amount with his credit card and was told the bill had been paid in full with mine. He asked for a hard copy of the receipt with the confirmation number of the reservation, and received one. Then my son and his wife checked in. He was required to give his card for deposits against extra charges. When he did so, it wiped out my information. My son was told rather rudely on the second day that he was responsible for the remainder of the bill. When he showed them the printed receipt, the desk clerk claimed no knowledge and no record of it. On the third and final day, I called the hotel. Again, the desk clerk claimed no knowledge ("I've been off for the past three days") and was not particularly nice or cooperative until I mentioned their competitor just a mile away. She finally took alternate credit card info and we finally managed to pay the bill. I am most disillusioned with this Holiday Inn. Too much of a hassle and too much time wasted with inefficiency.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by bobkpl You feels as if the staff are your good friends
There can not be a hotel that makes you feel as comfortable as the holiday inn in Bath. They don't just take care of your requests they actually try to see if there is something you might need and suggest how they could help you. Diane at the front desk was them most helpful hotel staff I have ever met.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Yahvonne good location
The best thing about this hotel was the LOCATION. The pool was oddly amazing as well. The staff was ok. The room was barely ok. They seemed understaffed and the hotel needed major renovations, Although I wasn't really satisfied with anything other than the location and the pool, I would stay again. We were able to go and see everything we were interested in seeing and still get back to the hotel within an hour or so. I do plan to return again in the spring or summer.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BobD An excellent hotel to stay in when seeing lighthouses
The staff at this hotel from the front desk staff members Morgan and Frances, through the dining room staff of Kira, Zack, and Eileen to the housekeeping people all were excellent and represented the hotelier and brand extremely well.
The location was great we were able to see many parts of Maine we had not seen before and visit friends that live in St Georges township all with ease.
The beds were comfortable, and the facilities had sufficient outlets to be able to hookup my computer.
The only drawback we had was that the internet connection would not stay up or would shutdown without notice. Therefore I used my hot spot to stay connected.
I recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Maine
