Rooms were in mid-update so mix match furniture and missing bathroom tiles. No ice machines on 2nd or 3rd fl. The cost was ridiculous for the non-amenities available. November 5, 2014

The Hotel is under going major construction and yet they still function as if nothing was going on. I stay here under all this construction becasue i am treated how a customer should be treatated. I am offered an upgrade when one is available and if something is wrong it is fixed ASAP. This facility should be a training facility for other Hotels in customer service. September 22, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great value and location My Daughter and I stayed after a night at the casino. The room was very clean and the staff was very nice. Some construction was going on but was ended by early afternoon and did not cause any problems for us. The pool was nice and warm and towels at poolside was nice. We will be back. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by worse stay ever Wow, as I was not advised the hotel was in the middle of remodeling, it seems as the condition of the hotel they should of been completely closed, as furniture in rooms , was stained and a musty smell through out, also the dish network goes off and on, and unfortunately not on the little time I was there at nights, the staff was over whelmed with complaints that they could not address, as no maintenance was ever there to assist them, But I will say the staff tried to make every one happy with very little to offer,, the poor staff, I felt sorry for , because it was not their fault that the place was in such horrible condition,,it was so bad I don't know if I can say id ever stay at a holiday inn ever again, July 28, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing - More and More I conduct business in Gainesville every month and stay at this hotel due to location / Convenience. Three months of renovations is getting OLD. The services and care is getting more and more disappointing. Last month my reservations were MESSED up and I was charged for a stay date that I did not make reservations for.... My stay July 15-16th was once again disappointing- elevator did not work, ice machine on 2nd floor did not work, no light bulbs in the lamp by the bed, radio did not work, mattress needed replaced, the hot breakfast was COLD, and it sounded like an elephant was in the room above me. I have not been recognized as a IHG® Rewards Club Member in so long I forgot I was one. May be staying at the hotels that are further away... July 19, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Under Renovations- Much Needed! Checked into this hotel because we were just too tired to drive any further. Big mistake! This hotel was under renovations and not at all up to usual standards we have found at other HIE hotels. Television did not work, 2" bugs on bathroom floor in morning, stains on carpeting. My husband was so looking forward to pancakes from the pancake machine for breakfast, but it was not working and there was no attendant to assist with it. You normally get a goody bag at check in for being a rewards member, not at this hotel! The worst part was that a few miles down the road the next morning were several other hotels that would have cost less and been much better value. Never again! July 16, 2014

I used my points to stay at the room at a reduce cost which evened things out. The staff were friendly. July 15, 2014

Could not find coffee in morning, other than in room, which is of poor quality. Even having to pay for a meal, left little choice besides eggs and toast. The room was clean, staff was fair on arrival, but no one was rude or inappropriate. I do not think I will stay in this particular Holiday Inn Express again, though I have been pleased with many others in the past. July 11, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Pictures are deceiving! Hotel under construction ~ can't believe it is open during TOTAL overhaul. Got there at 11:00pm otherwise would have checked out before checking in. TV did not work and staff seemed like no big deal did not try to resolve or compensate. Couldn't get out of this place fast enough! Can't believe property is still part of this chain. June 24, 2014

Yes, there are renovations going on but the affected areas were closed off with heavy plastic and there was no noise in the evening to disturb us. We had a most pleasant stay. June 21, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Under construction The staff was courteous. However, the facility was under construction and in disarray. It was dusty, the pool and sauna were under construction. The fire alarm went off twice within an hour and the last time everyone had to evacuate while the screeching sound continued for some time. We were afraid it would go off during the night and keep us awake so we checked out after only being there for 2 hours. They couldn't tell us if we would get a refund, but told us they would call and let us know. It is the next day and we still haven't heard anything. We are staying at a sister property down the road and we are extremely satisfied with the accommodations at the sister property. May 24, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Staff was awesome! The staff at the Holiday Inn was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make sure that we were well taken care of. The only issue we ran into was a delay in check-in. The rooms were not ready at 3. However, to me this is a good sign; when the entire hotel is booked and they are running a little behind in preparing the rooms for the next guests, I can wait. Overall, I would recommend the Holiday Inn Gainesville to any who need a hotel in that area. March 12, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by POOR EXPERIENCE When we arrived the room had not been cleaned. Bed not made ,dirty towels in bathroom and old soap bar in shower. We had to be moved to another room of lesser quality. In that room about once an hour the smoke sensor would chirp. It did this all the time during out 2 day stay. With these problems our bill was not reduced at all. W were still charged full price. March 7, 2014

In fact, my entire day was ruined after arguing with her! She was adamant about personally setting room rates herself for the property but I had obtained the room rate online and it was not what she wanted to charge. It all started at check in when the correction was not made as promised since I did call it to the attention of the man that checked us in and he stated that he would make corrections. Needless to say, he failed to do it so I had to again deal with it at checkout. The general manager was difficult to deal with and my day was ruined as a result of adversity. February 27, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by recycling The hotel is undergoing a renovation and so it seemed not all things were up to par. the breakfast was just so so and the coffee was cold. We understood there were some staffing concerns, the front desk lady seemed to be handling check in/out and breakfast both. I'm sure with more staff it would be more efficient. the check in person did give us great directions to one of the local restaurants in the town. We have stayed in 3 different Holiday Inn Epresses in the past 10 days and did not notice any recycling - no place to put newspapers, plastic water/soda bottles etc. Perhaps I just missed them. Would encourage all Holiday Inns to get to going with recycling. February 24, 2014
