Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by My stay No continental breakfast was a damper for us on the run visiting person in hospital there. Could not find coffee in morning, other than in room, which is of poor quality. Even having to pay for a meal, left little choice besides eggs and toast. The room was clean, staff was fair on arrival, but no one was rude or inappropriate. I do not think I will stay in this particular Holiday Inn Express again, though I have been pleased with many others in the past. July 11, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Pictures are deceiving! Hotel under construction ~ can't believe it is open during TOTAL overhaul. Got there at 11:00pm otherwise would have checked out before checking in. TV did not work and staff seemed like no big deal did not try to resolve or compensate. Couldn't get out of this place fast enough! Can't believe property is still part of this chain. June 24, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to stay! We stayed here on our way back from vacation. The room was clean, the beds were very comfortable and the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Yes, there are renovations going on but the affected areas were closed off with heavy plastic and there was no noise in the evening to disturb us. We had a most pleasant stay. June 21, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Under construction The staff was courteous. However, the facility was under construction and in disarray. It was dusty, the pool and sauna were under construction. The fire alarm went off twice within an hour and the last time everyone had to evacuate while the screeching sound continued for some time. We were afraid it would go off during the night and keep us awake so we checked out after only being there for 2 hours. They couldn't tell us if we would get a refund, but told us they would call and let us know. It is the next day and we still haven't heard anything. We are staying at a sister property down the road and we are extremely satisfied with the accommodations at the sister property. May 24, 2014

Very clean rooms and great staff . The manger -Ms Lancaster - was very helpful .She has a happy disposition and makes you feel welcome . Thank you Helen March 24, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Staff was awesome! The staff at the Holiday Inn was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make sure that we were well taken care of. The only issue we ran into was a delay in check-in. The rooms were not ready at 3. However, to me this is a good sign; when the entire hotel is booked and they are running a little behind in preparing the rooms for the next guests, I can wait. Overall, I would recommend the Holiday Inn Gainesville to any who need a hotel in that area. March 12, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by POOR EXPERIENCE When we arrived the room had not been cleaned. Bed not made ,dirty towels in bathroom and old soap bar in shower. We had to be moved to another room of lesser quality. In that room about once an hour the smoke sensor would chirp. It did this all the time during out 2 day stay. With these problems our bill was not reduced at all. W were still charged full price. March 7, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Ruined day during checkout It was very uncomfortable to argue with general manager in order to get room rates that were on email confirmation. In fact, my entire day was ruined after arguing with her! She was adamant about personally setting room rates herself for the property but I had obtained the room rate online and it was not what she wanted to charge. It all started at check in when the correction was not made as promised since I did call it to the attention of the man that checked us in and he stated that he would make corrections. Needless to say, he failed to do it so I had to again deal with it at checkout. The general manager was difficult to deal with and my day was ruined as a result of adversity. February 27, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by recycling The hotel is undergoing a renovation and so it seemed not all things were up to par. the breakfast was just so so and the coffee was cold. We understood there were some staffing concerns, the front desk lady seemed to be handling check in/out and breakfast both. I'm sure with more staff it would be more efficient. the check in person did give us great directions to one of the local restaurants in the town. We have stayed in 3 different Holiday Inn Epresses in the past 10 days and did not notice any recycling - no place to put newspapers, plastic water/soda bottles etc. Perhaps I just missed them. Would encourage all Holiday Inns to get to going with recycling. February 24, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very pleased with room My family traveled to south Texas and stayed at this hotel on our trip down. We were very pleased and chose this hotel again on our return trip. The rooms were very spacious, clean and well-equipped. We had no complaints either stay. On our second visit, our check in was handled by a new front desk person. I was impressed that that the manager was thoroughly training the new person, while being attentive to our needs. In visiting with the manager, she indicated she was fairly new in her position and was working hard to improve the hotel. Based our two stays, I would say she is doing well. We would definitely stay at this hotel again if ever in this area again. February 6, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by check in clerk needs more computer training. Checking in, asked for a king size bed and was informed that we would have to have a suite. We said ok(long day on the road). Upon opening the door we found closet full of clothes and items on the desk(fortunately no people in the room). We went back to front desk and reported what we had found and asked for a different room. Informed that there were no more king bed rooms, would we like a room with 2 queens. Ok with us and then she said she would have to put us in a suite with the 2 beds as if she did not put us in the same charge room, we would be billed for 2 rooms(she could not void out the first charge. We agreed (still tired from road) even though we said we do not need a suite. February 5, 2014

I immediately called front desk and they changed to 26th! When I checked out their was a $15 difference in rate I was given! Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by The ice storm of 2013 The one and only one member of the hotel staff was on duty during the ice storm of Dec7-9. Management was not concerned about their employee who had been on duty for three days. She was the only staff on duty the night of our stay and was very evident of her exhaustion. No bottles of water were available in the reception desk nor any of the vending machines. The clerk on duty deserves a pay raise. December 12, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Highway Traffic keeps you up all night When checking in, you should specify you want a room not facing Interstate 35. The traffic noise is intense all night long. They have rooms facing other directions and should offer them to guests. When I mentioned this in the morning, the clerk helpfully said that many customers find the traffic noise soothing. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by November stay We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while attending a continuing education seminar. The hotel is a little worn out. The fountain out front had missing tile work and was not functioning. I noticed peeling wall paper, and the bed had no support on the side The hallway ice maker only worked sometimes. The elevator went out while we were there and although they had someone working on it, the repair was not quick. We arrived around 7:30 pm and our room was freezing. It took an hour with the heat on high for our room to be comfortable. On the positive side, the hotel was extremely clean and the staff was not only friendly but was helpful as well. I was disappointed in the hotel, but felt that the staff did a "perfect" job. November 21, 2013

Felt like someone was about to come out of the bathroom and jump me for entering their room since the TV was still on with a few lights. Once they switched my room everything was well. It appears they are doing some repairs on the rooms, as the room I was in had some touch up painting done that was obvious the paint didn't match. Would stay again. November 12, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by In Need of Customer Service Upon arriving the elevator was broken, hot tub was not working and my requested room of a king bed was not honored and never addressed by staff. At breakfast, staff were in line (with guest) and took the last biscut available, leaving guest to wait. Reservations were incorrect and the hotel location was not honoring priority club points for one of the nights I wanted to stay. The room was in need of updating and repair (tile, grout, dressers, etc...) Will not stay here again November 7, 2013
